thirty-third sunday in ordinary tiMe (Year B) 14/15 NOVEMBER 2015

Entrance Antiphon The Lord said: I think thoughts of peace and not of affliction. You will call upon me, and I will answer you, and I will lead back your captives from every place. Trusting in God’s infinite love and mercy “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Our Lord’s words in this Sunday’s Gospel make for difficult reading: the end of the world is a subject most of us prefer not to contemplate but the underlying message is one of great hope: all things are passing and life as we know it will come to an end but God’s Word and His Kingdom will not pass away. God’s “chosen”, those who keep faith, will be gathered into the Kingdom of God’s great power and glory. The call to us is clear: not to put our trust in the things that will pass away but to “seek first His kingdom”. There is no reason to fear: All we need to learn is a deeper trust in God’s infinite and tender love for each of us individually. Talking about Marriage: the joys and the challenges The next session of Let’s Talk (Adults) will focus on the Church’s teaching on Marriage. We will looks at questions such as: how can we as a parish community better support marriage? And, what help is available when marriages get into trouble? Come along and share your views and experience, in the Catholic Club at 7.30pm on Monday 16 Nov. All welcome.
