Social Media and the Mission: If you are a user of social media please consider liking our parish Facebook page or following the brand new parish Twitter account (@ourladyhernebay). We would also like to invite you to please consider posting at least once regarding the mission in each of its two weeks. If you take any photos of the mission please email them to the parish office at: ourladyhernebay@gmail.com Traidcraft: The sale of fairly-traded goods after last week’s Masses raised £179.01. Many thanks to our customers. Next Traidcraft will be on 5/6 March. Celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony: at St George’s Cathedral on Saturday 18 June at 3pm. Couples celebrating their 1st, 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and 50th+ anniversaries who apply will receive a special invitation from Archbishop Peter. Please give your names to Fr Mark or Fr Patrick. Singing Group: Rehersal in the hall on Sunday at 4.30pm The SVP coin card appeal: starts this Sunday, fill in one of the six £1 coin shaped spaces each week of the six weeks of Lent. Day of Fasting and Abstaining from meat. Lent is a very special season of grace. We seek to draw closer to God by Fasting - from food and drink, from TV and social media perhaps (message above notwithstanding!); we devote ourselves more fully to Prayer - by using the opportunities that will come up during the Mission and beyond; by Almsgiving - sharing our earthly goods with the poor (e.g. the SVP coin cards, the CAFOD collection to be taken in the middle of the month, the Syria wallbox. All of these practices are designed to help us enter more deeply into the celebration of Our Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection at Easter. Rotas: Cleaning Group B. Other rotas in the porch. The Collection for last week was £943.79 (of which £452.70 was from giftaided envelopes and £491.09 was loose collection). Thank you. 2nd Collection this week: to support the poorer parishes of the diocese. NB If you are a UK tax-payer then you can gift-aid whatever you offer. To gift-aid your offering please fill in one of the forms at the back of church.
