The Great Week Holy Week is often called The Great Week and it is the most important week in the Church’s calendar. Entrance Antiphon: Six days before the Passover, when the Lord came into the city of Jerusalem, the children ran to meet him; in their hands they carried palm branches and with a loud voice cried out: Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed are you, who have come in your abundant mercy! O gates, light high your heads; grow higher, ancient doors. Let him enter, the king of glory! Who is this king of glory? He, the Lord of hosts, he is the king of glory. Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed are you, who have come in your abundant mercy! Prayer this Sunday: 4pm Lenten Evening Prayer in the church Human Megaphone: Sunday 20 March (3-4pm) on the grassy area outside the Senate Building and Rutherford College, University of Kent at Canterbury. Join the group as they give voice to members of the refugee communities based in Canterbury and East Kent. The more people taking part, the further the sound will carry. Funeral of Aaron Grimsley: will take place on Wednesday at 12noon. Easter Flowers: last week’s retiring collection raised £195. Syria: With the intense fighting in Damascus, the priests were encouraged to leave. Since then, a gesture of hope, courage and mercy. Three chapels are being built by the faithful there in suburban districts. More on the website. Talk on Victorian Herne Bay: Fri 22 April with Fish & Chip supper in the Hall.
