FRIDAY SEPT 1st: is World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. FIRST FRIDAY: This coming Friday there will be Mass at 7.00pm followed by prayers for healing. The music group from the Youth Service house in Whitstable will be providing the music. All are welcome….why not give it a try!! CHRISTIAN MEDITATION: Tues. at 2.15pm and Thurs. at 7.30pm in the Upper Room THE COMPANIONS IN PRAYER – will not meet in August. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 13th Sept.

REQUIEM MASS FOR DEACON JAMES MONDAY 21ST AUGUST James, Margaret and their family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Fr Mark CP and the priests who concelebrated the Requiem Mass for Deacon James. Also to the many deacons who assisted; to the organist and the choir; to the flower guild; to all who helped with the ceremony; and to the many who attended the Mass. Thanks also to all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and letters, and offered their condolences and prayers. A Mass of thanksgiving will be offered for all your intentions.


Saturday 9th September: DAY OF RENEWAL at AYLESFORD. The day will be led by members of Cor at Lumen Christi Catholic community, a most impressive new lay community, well known to Fr Mark, who have great experience in the ministry of healing. It promises to be a great day. It starts with the Rosary at 9.30 and finishes with Holy Mass which will conclude at 5.00pm. Bring a packed lunch. Lifts will be available, please see Fr Mark. Full details on poster in the church porch. TRAIDCRAFT this weekend (26th-27th August) after 6pm and 9.30 Masses. New catalogue available at back of church. Help yourself. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2018: If you would like your child to be part of the First Holy Communion programme for 2018, please fill in an application form at the back of Church. Children should be in school year 4 and above. Please return form to Fr. Mark or Parish Office. A SPECIAL REQUEST: On Wednesday 27 September we will be having a concert of Russian Sacred and Folk music in church, given by a choir of 9 religious sisters from Minsk, Byelorussia. It would be a great help to them if we could offer accommodation for the one night, 27th. Ideally, they would be in pairs and there would be one English speaker in each pair. If you could offer hospitality, please let Fr Mark or the Parish Office know as soon as you can. Many thanks. Thanks for offers so far received: we now need only find rooms for 4 sisters. THE SVP – will meet again on Tuesday 5th Sept. 7pm in the Parish room. New members are welcome to join us. MISSION RED BOXES Please return your red Mission Box to your promoter, or hand into the Parish office by the end of September. The old £1 coin ceases to be legal tender in October. In order to ensure any “old £1 coins collected in the red boxes are banked before the cut-off date please ensure your box is returned before the end of September. PUGIN WEEK: 7th - 14th September - A festival to celebrate the great Catholic revivalist Augustus Pugin. You are invited to St. Augustine's, Ramsgate, to events through the week.

WALSINGHAM PILGRIMAGE for the Sanctity of Life - Sunday 17th September. Coach leaves at 7am from our Church. Posters on Church noticeboard. Sign-up sheet at back of Church.

BARN DANCE - To commemorate their 70th anniversary, Herne Bay Little Theatre are having a Barn Dance in the Retreat Hall on Saturday 9th September at 7pm. There is a live band with a caller and will include a buffet. Tickets are £10 and you can either ring 366004 or contact Tony Jose in church or on 375838. It will be a fun evening. Date for your diary - Demelza Quiz October 7th in the Retreat Hall. Keep the date.

Adoration every weekday: 8.30-9.30a.m. Also Saturday morning, 10.00 to 11.00 with Rosary at 10.45., said for the Parish each week. There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. on Fridays. Sacrament of Reconciliation: Saturday 10am-11am and 4.30pm-5.30pm.
