Entrance Antiphon – These men, conquering all human frailty, shed their blood and helped the Church to grow. By sharing the cup of the Lord’s suffering, they became the friends of God. CHILDRENS LITURGY- This group is open to children aged between 4-9 years (9.30am Mass) term time. Our prayers and best wishes are assured for him. PARISH BIBLE WEEKEND: We extend a warm welcome to David and Sarah Beresford and their daughter Mollie of the Catholic Bible School. They will be speaking to us at all the Masses and leading us in various workshops and prayer sessions over the course of the weekend. There has been a vast amount of preparation spearheaded by Terri Hancock, involving members of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Wednesday Lunch team and many others. We are most grateful to them all for the energy and creativity they have brought to the weekend. CONGRATULATIONS to Anna Foley, daughter of James and Margaret Foley, grand-daughter of Deacon James Foley RIP, who is celebrating her marriage to Andrew Harrison at the church of Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi , Earley, Reading, this Saturday 23rd June. Isn’t it good to know that Anna’s wedding is in a church dedicated to Blessed Dominic CP, the first Passionist in England and thus has a connection with her Passionist home parish here!! DEANERY SESSION ON THE EUCHARIST: 11.00 a.m. next Saturday at St Thomas’s Hall, Canterbury. Led by Canon John O’Toole, National Ecumenical Officer for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference. He will be speaking about : The Eucharist: Meal, Memorial, Sacrifice, Presence. Please bring packed lunch. Lifts available.

If you would like to donate, we would appreciate flowers being left at the Church no later than Thursday of each week for us to arrange on Thursday or Friday. A bucket will be left in the porch for these. Monetary donations are also welcome. If you would like a particular Catholic publication at any time please contact the office – we will place an order on your behalf. THE ST JOHN BOSCO CHILDRENS’ SUMMER CAMP at Aldham Essex. This is an activities camp with a Catholic ethos that runs as follows:· Week One Saturday 21st July to 28th July 2018 for Boys · Week Two Saturday 28th July to 4th August 2018 for Boys · Week Three Saturday 4th August to 11th August 2018 for Girls It is for children aged 8 to 13 and costs £145 per week. REFUGEE WEEK: This week has been a special week of concern, support and celebration for refugees. The crisis is on a monumental scale and the sufferings of individuals and families can scarcely be imagined. It is one of those horrors in modern life before which we mostly feel helpless. But there are things that can be done at a local level and there will be a gathering at St Alphege’s Church, Whitstable, this Sunday afternoon (24th) to show how people can be involved. Please see poster in church porch. www.refugeeweek.org.uk will give further details. The "Parish Fayre” - Save the date - 25th August- as previously advised this has now been moved to 25th August. There will be a meeting on Sunday 15th July (before school holidays) in the Retreat Parish meeting room, for those able to help organise, prepared to run events, stalls & activities.
