LETTER TO PARISHIONERS FROM BISHOP PAUL MASON: Dear Parishioners, As you may have heard, the Holy Father has appointed me Bishop of the Armed Forces and I will be taking up my new post after the summer break. I would like to thank you all for your prayers and support these past few years. I have very much enjoyed my time in Kent and will miss being the Area Bishop. But I do look forward to this new apostolate and my installation will be on 12th September at 11.30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St Michael and St George in Aldershot to which you are most welcome. JOB VACANCY: The Passionist Community here in the house are in need of a cook to prepare lunch for the community Monday-Friday. Good rate of pay, amenable people to work for! Please contact Fr. Mark. OUR LET’S TALK SESSION ….last Monday went very well, with a surprisingly good turnout, given that it was such hot weather. We shared reflections on two parts of the Our Father: “ lead us not into temptation” and “deliver us from evil”. As always, it was good to share and enjoy the hospitality of the Sisters’ house. We are always open to suggestions about future sessions…please let Fr Mark know or any member of the PPC. ADOREMUS MAGAZINE: We have a number of copies of this beautifully produced publication with many short and attractive articles on various aspects of the Eucharist. Highly recommended. £4.95 per copy We also have copies of Pope’s Francis’s wonderful letter on the call to holiness in everyday life : Gaudete et Exsultate” (Rejoice and Be Glad) – please see Sr Corinne in the church shop. DEMENTIA SERVICES PROVIDED BY AGE UK HERNE BAY & WHITSTABLE - Many people reading this have experience of knowing someone who is living with dementia. Whether it is a friend or family member, the impact for those involved can be huge. Age UK Herne Bay & Whitstable provide services to help support those living with dementia, their carers and families. They are asking for volunteers to help with activity Clubs/art & craft clubs and coffee mornings.
