FEAST DAYS THIS WEEK – Monday 21st January St. Agnes. Thursday 24th January St. Francis de Sales. Friday 25th January The Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, conclusion of Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Saturday 26th January St Timothy & St. Titus. If you look over the gate into the Retreat garden a new sight will meet your eyes. The statue of the Sacred Heart that stood for so many years in the grounds of St Philip Howard Primary School has at last found a new home. The arrival of the statue had been long anticipated but was subject to delay after delay. But never mind, it was brought over by the builders, Jenners, early this last week and is placed on a plinth, gazing out on the garden and the Retreat. The two statues: the Sacred Heart in the Garden and Our Lady in the grotto proclaim in stone the joint name of our parish. May the life of our parish community be ever more blessed with the love of the Sacred Heart and the watchful care of Our Blessed Mother. And it has been a busy week for change in another direction: the pew runners arrived on Thursday and were put in place in time for Exposition and Mass on Friday morning. We hope you will now find relief from the stiffness of our stalwart wooden benches. We hope the warmth of the colour will please you and that the new comfort, relative though it is, will perhaps encourage more perseverance in prayer… … And we are most grateful for the generosity of those who made this all possible. THURSDAY ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: It is very encouraging to see how well the Adoration is going. It is almost two months since we started and we would like to invite those who are participating, and indeed any other parishioners who might wish to attend, to come along and share your

experience, bring up any questions that may have arisen and make any suggestions to help the days run better. Come to the Retreat Hall on Sunday 27 January at 4.00 pm. Refreshments will be provided.
