FEAST DAYS THIS WEEK – Tuesday 5th February St. Agatha. Wednesday 6th February St. Paul Miki & Companions. Friday 8th February St. Jerome. COMPANIONS IN PRAYER: the next meeting will take place on Wednesday February 6th. The PPC meeting which would normally have taken place on this the first Wednesday of the month has been postponed to the following Wednesday, 13th February. Apologies for any inconvenience. THURSDAY ADORATION: We had a very positive meeting with about 20 of those who regularly spend an hour in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament each Thursday. Here is a flavour of some of the thoughts that were shared: “ to begin with I wondered how I would get through an hour of silence….but now I can’t believe how quickly and peacefully it goes…” “it’s amazing how helpful it is just to spend that one hour in complete silence, just myself and the Lord…it feels like a great personal blessing for me as an individual”…. “ I compare it to spending time visiting my best friend..”… “it’s the best hour of the week” If you would like to join the list of those who give a dedicated hour each week, please contact Peter or Marian Green, 361685 DOWRY TOUR OF OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM: 21-23 FEBRUARY. In anticipation of the 800th anniversary in 2020,of the declaration by King of England as the “Dowry of Mary”, the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham is being taken to the Cathedrals of England. There is a full programme of events at St George’s Cathedral from the evening of Thursday 21 February to Saturday 23rd – please see the poster in the porch or consult www.dowrytour.org.uk


FR MARK WRITES: I would like to thank all who have offered their condolences, Masses and prayers on the death of my eldest brother Tom. I shall be celebrating his Requiem Mass in Cricklewood on Thursday, with my brother Frank preaching the homily. It is a comfort to me to know that Mass is being offered for Tom here in Herne Bay on the same day. WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: This year’s event will take place on Friday 1st March at 2.00pm in the Baptist Church on the High St, opposite the library. As always, everyone is welcome. If you would like to do a reading at the service, please contact Trish Fifield on 373 277. We need to provide two readers who could arrive at the Baptist Church by 1.30 p.m. FORTHCOMING FUNERAL– Charles McErlane: Requiem Mass, Monday 4 February at 10.00 a.m. The funeral of James Molamphy will take place on 20 February at mid-day. THE WEDNESDAY LUNCH CLUB- Don't be lonely, come and join us the next meal is Wednesday 13th February. Meal served around 12.00 mid-day with tea/coffee beforehand. You will enjoy a good meal cooked on the premises, plus good company, suggested donation of £3.
