Children’s Liturgy of the Word: at the 9.30 Mass (term time) Tea & Coffee-Soft drinks & Biscuits – are served after the 9.30am Mass in the hall, all welcome FAMILY MASS NEXT SUNDAY 9.30pm. Children from the Parish will be leading the readings. Afterwards, in the Retreat Hall, all children of the Parish are invited for Arts/Crafts with drink/biscuits. Why not come along and bring your grown-ups for tea/coffee. A great way for families to get to know each other. TRAIDCRAFT- next weekend, 30th and 31st March in the Retreat Hall after 6pm and 9.30am Masses. AMEN PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES IN LENT: • Every Sunday: Lent Devotions, including Stations of the Cross: 4.00p.m. • Fridays: Stations of the Cross at 7.00 p.m. • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: each weekday from 8.30 – 9.30 a.m. • Adoration every Thursday from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. • And why not try to make it to a weekday Mass, Mon-Fri at 10.00 • There will be a TAIZE service of Evening Prayer at 7.30 p.m. on Monday April 8th – those who so much enjoyed the services held at the Franciscan Study Centre in the recent past will be especially pleased to read this!


FR ANTHONY HALE CP: several parishioners have asked for news of Fr Anthony as his name has appeared in our Prayers for the Sick. Fr Anthony was parish priest here in the 1990’s. He is now retired and is receiving treatment for prostate cancer; he started a regime of chemotherapy last week. He is very pleased to hear that we are praying for him, so please keep up the prayers! FUNERALS: Friday 29th March: 11.00: Requiem Mass for Neil Florence, brother of Cloe Maple; Tuesday 2 April: Requiem Mass for Wallace Pateman, 11.45; Wednesday April 3, 12.00: Requiem Mass for Pat Egle CLOCKS…..GO FORWARD ONE HOUR NEXT WEEKEND (30/31 March) Time goes marching on ! Please Remember in your prayers NELLIE CURRAN who died on Thursday. May she rest in peace. CATCHING LIVES –Request for various BOARD GAMES e.g. Scrabble for clients at Catching Lives in Canterbury. Please give to Althea Walker. Thank you. MISSION/RED BOXES- It’s that time of year again – please return your red box to your promoter or to the Parish Office by the end of the month. Thank you for your continued support. (Promoters’ envelopes are available for collection from the Parish Office.) PARISH EQUAL SHARES SCHEME – 2019 : Thank you for returning your completed application forms for the new scheme year. We still require 42 more members to break even. Please take an application form after Mass today & return next week with your cheque for £12 payable to St. Mary’s Parish. Equal Shares is a fun way of helping the parish to raise funds and members are entered into a monthly cash draw. The final monthly draw for the 2018/2019 scheme year has taken place, and the winners have been notified.

The first draw will take place in April – Please support the Parish. Thank you. SVP-Storage/Oven/Mobility Scooter- there is a need from time to time to store large donated items of furniture, household equipment etc. - a spare garage, outbuildings that are dry and secure would be great. Also large family have urgent need of Electric stand-alone oven. Mobility Scooter needed for disabled mum to accompany young child to primary school. If Parishioners wish to support, please take one per family, if you did not get one last weekend. Please return Easter weekend or earlier if preferred. ). FORTHCOMING EVENTS SVP Music Quiz Night 6th April - 7.15pm- Parish Hall- this fun evening will consist of music questions, some on video and music bingo featuring 6 decades of popular songs . Ploughmans with glass of wine and access to Club bar are included for £8 per person. There are now only 2/3 tables of 8 remaining as a result of early demand. To avoid disappointment please book for individual/ couples or groups of 8 as soon as possible. Tickets will now only be available and reservations made by contacting Frank on 01227 652370. There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 3.00 to 4.00pm on Fridays.
