Pre - design: Questions: 1. How to create a comfortable space where we called ‘home’? 2. How to create a space that protects us and allows multiple functions? 3. How to create a building with its own characters while fitting in with the surrounding context? 4. How to live a “smarter life”? How to use technology for our benefit? [Inspired from the idea of ‘smart city’ project] 5. How to design space for gathering and space for individual activities?
Possibilities:
Design for the future, create public social space and private working areas. 1. Use technology to improve our lives. 1. Comfort, higher indoor quality
2. Safety
3. Efficient & Smart
2. Affordable
3. ‘Greener’ way of living
4. Helps to create a more active community
2. Designing for the future. 1. Adaptable 3. Thinking about ‘density as a possibility’. 1. Embrace culture difference
2. Mix use building (Transition from public to private)
3. A building that opens up (seen and being seen) 4. Flexible space in each unites which accommodate different use & purpose 5. Accessible & allows individual activities
4. Multi-functional space
Pre - design: Research
A building that opens up
1. Smart ways of living 2. Future architecture (Wood construction, stackable home, per-fabricated unites, ‘moving’ wall) 3. Artificial Intelligent and how can it be used inside the building, How this technology improves our living environment.
Conclusion:
1. For this project, I want to explore the potential of designing a compact & comfortable living and social environment. 2. I think future life will more be based on shared resources rather than personal properties. I want the building to also allow individual freedom. 3. My goal for this project is to change the ‘language’ of housing (mass housing). I think the building should support us and its own identity.
