Launched to mark the 130th anniversary of Victorinox, I.N.O.X. has established a new industry standard for watch strength and resilience. The superlative all-terrain watch is now evolving into Victorinox Swiss Army’s core collection—first with blue, black and green models, and now with I.N.O.X. red. I.N.O.X. embodies the quintessential values of Victorinox’s most famous creation, the original Swiss Army Knife: authenticity, strength, quality, Swiss savoir-faire and Swiss design. It pushes these qualities to the extreme by enduring 130 strength tests, a ruthless battery unparalleled in the watch industry. Some of the I.N.O.X. tests were so insanely extreme they merit special mention.

8 tons compression under a hydraulic press; I.N.O.X. can also resist being driven over by a truck of 25 tons or a military tank weighing up to 64 tons.

Temperatures shocks from -57 ° to +71 ° Celsius. This corresponds to the standard set by the US Army for the manufacture of missiles. Nothing comparable exists in the world of watchmaking.

Salt spray corrosion or chemical attacks by all kinds of fuels, oils, solvents, cleaning products, insecticides... including sulfuric and nitric acid solution. Again, a standard not for watches but for the military, borrowed from the US Army.

A fall of 10 meters onto a smooth concrete surface. This is the equivalent of a drop from a 3-floor building, with an impact speed of 50 km / hour.

Exposure to a flame at a distance of 5mm for more than one minute, which corresponds to a temperature of +1,200 ° C.

Glacial cold. The watch will function non-stop and without complaint, even when frozen in an ice cube for 168 hours.

Extreme conditions at a stratospheric altitude of 21,300 meters, which is twice the height at which the airliners fly.

These crazy performances also prove useful in everyday life: I.N.O.X., for example, will emerge unscathed after two hours in a washing machine… at 90 ° C and with full spin cycle. The watch’s performance, hailed by the world press, has garnered it a host of international awards. It therefore makes perfect sense for I.N.O.X. to be launched in the Victorinox signature colour, the brand to which it pays homage. The shade suits it perfectly. It is also worth noting that in parallel to its robustness, I.N.O.X. cultivates other strengths, including the striking aesthetics of its balanced design. From the test lab to the wrists of stylish men and women the world over, I.N.O.X. makes the transition with ease and elegance. This versatility is accentuated by its “bumper”, a removable protector made of nylon and silicone that enables the wearer to adapt its look to fit any situation. I.N.O.X. red is also subjected to special new tests, in particular those that ensure that its colour will not be altered by ultraviolet sunlight. With the arrival of this new edition, I.N.O.X. confirms its status within Victorinox Swiss Army. More than just a model, it is now evolving into a genuine collection, which no doubt, will continue to surprise us for years to come.

NEW

unveiling an exciting new range - lapassion A winning passion – To become a world champion swimmer takes more than physical fitness; you must put your heart and soul into a gruelling sport where only the most dedicated can reach the top. Spain’s Mireia Belmonte is one such athlete, a multiple world record holder whose passion for swimming has led to glory at the world championships, Olympic Games, and more. The Barcelona 24-year-old first made her mark in the pool aged 11 in the Spanish junior championships. She has gone on to become one of the world’s elite swimmers, winning multiple gold medals at FINA meetings. She won silver medals in the 200 m butterfly and 800 m events at the 2012 London Olympic Games and in December 2014 in Doha, Qatar, set world records in the short course 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley.

Housed in a steel case beats an Edox ‘engine’ based on the Sellita SW200 movement. The Open Heart dial with its horseshoe aperture design provides an intriguing glimpse of the movement inside. Water-resistant to 50 m and at a dainty 33 mm diameter, the LaPassion Open Heart Lady perfectly complements the spirit and ideals shown by Mireia, a true champion in and out of the water. Edox watches, with their distinctive hourglass logo, offer the perfect blend of technical excellence, durability, reliability, elegance and design. No wonder then that organisations such as the Dakar Rally, Extreme Sailing Series, the World Curling Federation, world free dive record holder Christian Redl and champion swimmer Mireia Belmonte have embraced Edox as the watch of their choice.

Boutique Swiss watchmaker Edox now celebrates Mireia’s swimming achievements and her position as a role model for women of all walks of life - with its stunning new LaPassion collection of timepieces. Like Mireia in her quest to be the very best in the pool, Edox thrives on passion to produce exceptional timepieces based on a grand watchmaking tradition but using the most modern of materials. The LaPassion Open Heart Lady is a striking example of Edox engineering and design, quality craftsmanship that has been centre stage for more than 130 years.

Since 1953, the history and development of Glycine have always been connected with the evolution of aircraft and aviation. Many Glycine watches carry the hallmark of this affinity, such as the F 104. Conceived in the fashion of a cockpit instrument, this extraordinary model impresses by its pure functionality. The watch features a stainless steel case housing a manual wound pocket watch movement. A domed exhibition back attached securely by six screws allows for a full view of the movement. Despite its extraordinary size, the case is ergonomically designed and conforms to any wrist by use of articulated lugs. A pyramid-shaped double o-ring crown lends an antique look and touch long missing from today’s fine timepieces.

Cold conditions

To protect your watch from magnetism, remove it before going through security control.

In cold environments, try to keep your watch on your wrist so that it remains close to body temperature. Below 0 ° C (32 ° F), the mechanism oil can lose fluidity and slow down the movement.

Damp conditions Check that the crown is fully pushed or screwed down—depending on the model—against the case in order to preserve water-resistance. Try to prevent leather straps from coming into contact with water to avoid deformation or discoloration. For frequent or prolonged use in water, a good choice would be to wear waterproof materials such as a steel bracelet or rubber strap. After each exposure to salt water, rinse the watch carefully in fresh water, then dry it. To prevent any infiltration of water or dust, arrange for your watch to be checked for water resistance regularly (approximately every 18 months), especially before going on holiday.

Warm conditions Temperatures above 60 ° C (140 ° F) can have a significant effect on the mechanism and battery life. Intense light can age materials used in your watch, such as coatings, plastics, rubber and leather. High temperatures cause discoloration and can shorten the lifespan of the leather strap. Avoid exposing your watch to extreme climate conditions. A sudden change in temperature may cause condensation to appear under the crystal. This does not affect the watch’s functions and will soon disappear on its own. Nevertheless, it indicates a water-resistance weakness.
