FULCRUM INCREASES K’GARI CLEAN UP EFFORTS The company was part of a huge effort to clean up 8.2 tonnes of rubbish recently Fulcrum is continuing to support, sponsor, and attend the Fraser Island (K’gari) Clean Up to help rid the beautiful World Heritage listed island from harmful marine debris. Along with Four Wheel Drive Queensland (4WD QLD), the Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) and other affiliated clubs and sponsors, a total of 6.2 tonnes of rubbish was collected in 2021. This year’s 2022 Fraser Island (K’gari) Clean Up was no different and was yet another big success with a total of 22 affiliated clubs and sponsors from all over Queensland attending and managing to net 8.2 tonnes of rubbish, a whopping two tonne more than 2021. Fulcrum states the increased rubbish collected this year may be caused by the flooding
Queensland and North-East New South Wales experienced earlier this year. Of all things, pontoons from the Brisbane River and scooter helmets were found scattered across the island’s beautiful sands. Fulcrum states that together with the great efforts from everyone that helped clean up Fraser Island (K’gari), great lengths of the island was returned to its usual untamed golden sands. Fulcrum attended the event with several people in tow including Sam Young, the crew from HD Automotive and multiple team members from Fulcrum’s Signature Store. Further, Fulcrum created a YouTube video of the event to spread awareness of the importance around keeping Australia clean and pristine whilst also managing to capture what it’s like camping and travelling on a World Heritage Island. This YouTube video has gained over 135,000 views since its launch with hopes to bring more attention around the importance of doing the best we can as a community to continue to fight against pollution in Australia. Fulcrum says the video is worth the watch as it is highly entertaining and exhilarating with emotional highs and lows.
Fulcrum is already looking forward to attending, sponsoring and supporting the 2023 Fraser Island (K’gari) Clean Up and says it hopes its efforts during this year’s clean up continue to spread environmental awareness and encourage more people in joining the massive clean-up for years to come. Founded in 1976 by Graham ScudamoreSmith, Fulcrum Suspensions has grown from its humble beginnings as a wheel alignment workshop in the Brisbane suburb of Moorooka to a global organisation that offers a diverse range of suspension solutions for almost any vehicle. Today Fulcrum has over 200 employees across multiple locations which includes an in-house R&D department. It has company stores, franchises and a dealer network spread throughout Australia.
