CHARITY INFORMATION Manchester United Foundation At the Manchester United Foundation we use the passion for Manchester United to educate, motivate and inspire young people, providing opportunities to change their lives for the better. We work in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Greater Manchester to deliver football coaching, skills training, personal development and life changing experiences. Through football, we encourage future generations to develop as players and more importantly as people. Francis House Children’s Hospice Francis House offers the families of terminally ill children respite from their role as carers and gives the children a loving home from home. The children are all suffering from illnesses for which there is no known cure and Francis House gives families support, care and a lifeline by just being available day or night. The partnership with Manchester United funds the employment of a team of Home Care nurses who provide an outreach service so that the hospice can extend its fantastic service, touching many more people’s lives. The Christie Charity The Christie Charity raises vital funds for The Christie, one of Europe’s leading cancer treatment centres. Manchester United’s support of The Christie helps with the vital rehabilitation of patients in the Young Oncology Unit. This awardwinning service for teenagers and young adults offers support both during and after treatment, specialist ward therapists, family support, and physiotherapy. The continued support Manchester United gives to the Y.O.U. has meant The Christie can continue to provide the very best care, enabling young patients to lead as normal a life as possible, during a time when they face complete upheaval.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford Broadcaster, television presenter, Manchester United Foundation trustee and lifelong Red, Eamonn Holmes is a strong supporter of both the Club and the Foundation. A longstanding face of breakfast television Eamonn is notably famed for presenting GMTV, Sunrise on Sky News and ITV’s This Morning alongside wife Ruth Langsford. Fellow presenter, Ruth, has also enjoyed a long career in television and, when not beside her husband on the This Morning sofa, can often be found putting the world to rights on the Loose Women panel. We are delighted that the couple are hosting the Ladies’ Lunch for a second year running and would like to thank them for their time and continued support. Jennifer Saunders We are thrilled to be joined this afternoon by the fabulous, triple-BATFA award-winning actress and comedienne Jennifer Saunders. Jennifer has earned worldwide acclaim for her iconic performances as part of the French and Saunders double-act and as Edina Monsoon in Absolutely Fabulous. She is also an accomplished scriptwriter with many sitcoms and television programmes under her belt, her most recent project being the much anticipated Spice Girls stage show ‘Viva Forever’. Jennifer will join Eamonn and Ruth on stage during today’s event to discuss her glittering career and no doubt provide our guests with an unforgettably entertaining experience.
