t has been quite a relaxing week for most people, thanks to the Sallah break. OF NOTE: Everyone looks forward to holidays, PRIORITISE even if it’s few days. Unfortunately, going YOUR TASK back to work after a break can make you feel like the holidays shouldn’t end. Is there ON YOUR a secret to keeping the post-holiday serenity FIRST DAY OF and freshness for just a little while longer? Luckily, with our etiquette tips for returning RETURNING to work after Sallah, you can accomplish a TO WORK smooth resumption. Check your work calendar: The week at home might have made you forget certain things or meetings. So before returning to work, take a look at your calendar so that you are not caught off guard by anything. Take a careful look at them to know what sort of preparation you need to do. This will allow you know whether you are prepared for a meeting or not, and what can be done, instead of setting back everyone at work if you show up unprepared. Plan ahead: You need to make a short priority list for first things you plan to tackle upon your return. Whether you are waiting for feedback on a proposal draft, a response from a client, or a deadline for a report to become available, commit them all to paper. Priorities at work can change fast, but starting from a list gives you a better launch point, no matter what happens. Get caught up: Before you throw yourself back into work totally, try to find out what went down while you were on holidays. This doesn’t mean you should participate in inconsequential office gossip; instead, it means you should try and get a broad sense of whether there is any new project, where old projects stand, and so on. This will help make life easier for you and your co-workers because you would be aware of all you need to do. Move on: Don’t dwell on the break. A lot of people get in bad moods by focusing too much on the fact that their break is over. Carrying a bad mood to work is poor etiquette as it will affect your work performance and sometimes make your colleagues feel bad. Forget about the holidays and put your attention back to work and how you can be productive.
