I did evacuation two weeks ago and I am still spotting. Is this normal? Aisha, Bauchi It is not normal. Slight bloody discharge should stop two to three days after evacuation. the HSG revealed bilateral tubal blockage. Another use is to see whether there are adhesions or not. Cases of endometriosis can be diagnosed with laparoscopy. It is a minor surgical procedure done in the theatre under Anaesthesia but local analgesia could be used. The laparoscopy is done to view the pelvic cavity and then dye is injected. It also helps to look at a possibility or feasibility of tubal surgery in case of tubal problems. I will encourage you to listen to your doctor’s advice.

t’s the in-thing now to show how cool you are by using earphones. Being part of the gadget generation, we enjoy listening to our favourite music from our phones, mp3 players, laptops, phones, iPad you name it. Whether on the move or at work or at the gym, earphones plugged in have become a part of our everyday lives but unfortunately, not all of us are aware of the harm. If you are not using noise cancelling earphones the possibility of you damaging your ears is quite high. Noise cancellation earphones cancel the excessive noise giving you a safer hearing experience. Listening to loud music through headphones can also cause vertigo. You may experience dizziness from the pressure caused by loud music in the ear. Taking a break from earphones is very important. Overtime, it may cause hearing loss so do try to take a 5 minute break at least every hour by removing them completely from your ears. Dr. Ikechukwu adds that earphones that go deep into your ears are bad for your eardrums because of the impact they have directly on your ear canal. Listening to loud music can also flatten the hairs in your ears and the damage made to them is permanent. Once that damage is done it may take years before you begin experiencing the effect which may include muffled hearing and ringing. With additional information from the internet

BUNMI OKE // Educational background I started primary school in both the UK and Nigeria and then Holy Child College Obalende, Lagos and Queens College Lagos for my O’level and A’level respectively and then University of Lagos where I graduated in Social Sciences in 1985. Career background My career started in 1985 during my NYSC at Triumph Publishing Company Kano, and a full time job at Grant Advertising (then the Affiliate of McCann Ericson Worldwide in 1986). I then moved to LTC Advertising (J. Walter Thompson Affiliate) for an accumulation of 10 years and short stint abroad. After that I worked in Abuja at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) as the pioneer Chief Public Affairs Officer from 2002-2005. Then I had the opportunity to pioneer the professional operations of 141 Worldwide in 2005 where I was the CEO.And I made history as the second female President of AAAN and as a fellow of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), the only current female practicing fellow of the four in the country to date. I am also an Executive Council Member of the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), amongst other voluntary organisations where I contribute my quota. On being an accomplished woman Sincerely, there is ‘grace’ for the race of life. I practiced as a martial artist whilst at Queens College and UNILAG and stopped short of a ‘black belt’. But the lessons of focus, drive, determination and will power have stuck for life. I got into advertising by divine orchestration (as I intended to be a journalist), but my husband’s friend who later became my boss in 1986 encouraged me to ‘tilt’ to advertising due to my innate skills and as they say, the rest is history. What growing up was like Growing up was a mixture of global and local experiences, both sweet and not so sweet situations. My father was very influential in developing my foundation of self-confidence as a veterinary surgeon practicing in the UK. He taught me that gender is irrelevant as he always showed me how a lady can do things, like climbing a tree and putting on a pair of shorts;to ignore negative comments and fight back for what you believe in with knowledge. My father used to cook and plait my hair as a child so I do not have a stereotypical father and so naturally, I could not be a stereotypical woman. My parents’ separation and our movement to Nigeria gave me a lot of culture shock. I ended up growing up with my paternal aunt and her family who gave us a lot of training but the environment and style were a bit alien to me as an 8-year-old, but it also shaped my life today into understanding the Nigerian culture. Challenges faced in life ‘Challenges make champions’, this is my mantra. So I face challenges with a positive mind set, (trusting God not to allow us face anything beyond our strengths). In my profession we deal with challenges of all sorts daily as a service company from timelines not met, staff not being productive, clients who are “difficult”, business mistakes, association issues, etc. My basic nature is that I do not accept no as an answer. Tell me how to solve the problem; don’t just tell me the problem. So thinking on our feet in a creative manner works all the time. I apply the same philosophy in my personal life. How do we overcome is my mind set be it school runs, to food supplies, to attending to guests, to buying clothes or travel plans, to school fees. I also believe that “happiness” and humour are a choice, so in solving problems focus on how to be happy and pleasant too. I also believe there is a time

However, seeing clients satisfied, brands growing, staff well paid on time, and industry issues achieved are very rewarding in phases. I love to achieve my objectives and I am result driven as I find achieving my goals whether big or small rewarding.
Aspirations growing up I wanted to be financially independent and empowered as I noticed that families where mothers/ wives, worked always seemed to be better-off financially. MY FATHER USED TO COOK AND PLAIT MY HAIR AS A CHILD SO I DO NOT HAVE A STEREOTYPICAL FATHER AND SO NATURALLY, I COULD NOT BE A STEREOTYPICAL WOMAN
I believe in enjoying the moment so childhood should be enjoyed as a child and not endured. Same with marriage, work, raising children, etc. so I do not like to cry over spilt milk. I enjoyed the best of my childhood, as it presented itself like playing in the park, going out for family drives and to different beaches in the UK, playing board games and team games/acting plays with my siblings and cousins. Even now at middle age, I want to enjoy this period before progressing gracefully and enjoying my old age. Typical day A typical day is in phases for me. I am now at the beginning of the “empty nest” season where my children have started work life. So my routine is very much with my husband (thank God for that). My routine is have a cup of coffee with hubby in the morning, chat a bit, plan and pray then head out to work, socialise, organise my different roles at home. I also use Facebook and FaceTime to contact my children, clients, business associates and church members then I have my dinner, reflect and sleep. I am very non-conventional so my routine can change monthly, quarterly, depending on my personal and professional objectives. My most cherished gift I am a very sentimental person in a very funny way. I cherish thoughtful gifts. I have a camel in my office and a fuchsia pink pillow my colleagues in the office gave me that touch on what I cherish, like colour. I am quite good at keeping what I value. How I met my husband I met my husband when I was 20 going to 21 years at a girl friend’s 21st birthday party. I did not realize then that it was a divine set up as my husband was invited to this party just to meet me by his friend who was so sure I would be at the party. We met, chatted, discussed and dated for about 4 years and got married on April 15. 1989 - 28 years ago - and we are thankful for the opportunity to share our lives together. My most cherished attribute of his He is very dependable, caring, reliable, responsible and supportive. Naturally you would love these qualities and fall in love. Constantly develop your talents and develop yourself in all spheres of life. Be confident of what you know and what you do not know,be confident to find out. Do not let anyone, whether male of female, make you feel inferior by keeping yourself knowledgeable and marketable. Also, always accept challenges as that could be the wrapping paper of your promotion in your professional or personal life and the sky can accommodate us all to fly high. Looking back, what I would tell a younger me Always maintain the good health God has given you as it is priceless and you cannot do anything significant in life as a wife, mother, sister, business person, etc without good health. Cherish it, maintain it and thank God for it daily.
KIDDIES WORLD
The playful lumberjack overall look By UCHE EZE
The interesting thing about the lumberjack overall is that it’s unisex. Whether it’s a baby boy or baby girl you are blessed with, the lumberjack overall is perfect for them. The most important thing is that the overall must be given a personal touch. These overalls are precious and definitely a crowd pleaser. For infants and toddlers, it has easy snap diaper access on both sides, which makes it easy to quickly change diapers. It is fun to mix and match patterns and colours with these unique outfits. The materials used to make these overalls are usually thick, thus, they actually serve the function of blocking out the cold weather, and leaving your kid warm and stylish.

Practical morning school routine parents can use L
ate coming is a terrible habit and kids need to be taught early the importance of making it early for activities, especially school. For most families, the most hectic time of the day is when the alarm clock goes off. Getting the kids out of bed, dressed, fed and ready for school can be a daily battle. Here are a few tips parents can use make school mornings easier on everybody. Get the kids to bed on time: This is the first step to curbing lateness. The earlier the kids get to bed, the earlier they’ll wake up and well rested too. The kids need enough sleep to get up bright and early the next morning. When they are exhausted and not well rested, they tend to drag their feet the entire morning, making it difficult to get them ready on time. Establish a routine: This is very important. There should be a time for everything and every preparation process. With this, confusion and time wasting can be avoided. The kids
should become accustomed to this morning routine, until they no longer have to be reminded. Also, setting ground rules as part of this routine and sticking by them helps alleviate the chaos. For example, make it a rule to keep the television off until everybody is ready. Delegating: Kids need to take on some responsibility. Delegate duties where necessary, putting the older ones in charge of their siblings. Whatever the kids can handle themselves, leave it to them. Prepare the night before: This reduces the hectic morning duties by half. Things like setting out uniforms, ironing, polishing of shoes and sorting of books should be done the night before. You could go a step further by setting out lunchboxes too. Ensure that things are already arranged and displayed before bedtime. With additional information from the internet

Cufflinks also make an awesome present for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, you name it! Just as long as you select a pair that matches the stylish personality of the guy. he seafood tomoto pepper soup is a delicacy that is rich in nutrients. It serves as a good source of protein, vitamins, minerals and is omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to that, seafood has various health benefits like promoting a healthy heart, maintaining keen eyesight and great skin. So as you embark on yet another crawfish boil or fish fry, know that the seafood you’re consuming will yield many benefits!
Seafood Tomato Pepper Soup Recipe Tilapia fish or any fish of choice (cut to desired pieces) 3-6 pieces of fresh Prawns (dressed or whole) 2-3 pieces of Crab (dressed) 3-4 pieces of large Tomato 1 medium size Onion 3-4 pieces Scotch Bonnet Pepper (or as
Nigerian coconut puff-puff P uff-puff is a West African traditional fried dough that is sold in every neighborhood. You would be surprised at how pleasant coconut milk and flakes enrich this recipe. The coconut flakes give the puff-puff a slight crunch and a special and different flavour. INGREDIENTS 1 cups warm water 2 cup coconut milk 2¼ teaspoon active dry yeast or 0.25 oz. (1 packet) ½- 3/4 cup sugar ¼- 1/2 tablespoon salt 1 cup coconut flakes 4-1/2 cup flour Oil for deep frying INSTRUCTIONS In a large bowl add the warm water, coconut milk, salt, sugar and yeast. Set aside for 5 minutes. Then add flour and mix with a wooden spoon or the hands preferably, followed by coconut flakes. Mix well until flour and coconut flakes have been fully incorporated. Set the mixture in a warm area and let it rise and double in size -approximately 1- 2 hours. In a large, sauce pan pour vegetable oil, until it

is at least 3 inches (or about 5 centimeters) high (too little will result in flatter balls), and place on medium heat until oil is 375 degrees. The dough is going to be sticky so use your hands to grab a little bit of mixture a time and drop in the oil or use a spoon to scoop up the batter, and another spoon or spatula to drop it in the oil, sort of in the shape of a ball. Do not overcrowd the pan. Do so in batches. Fry for a few minutes until the bottom side is golden brown. Turn the ball over and fry for a few more minutes until the other side is golden brown. Use a large spoon to take it out of the oil. I you can place them on napkins right away to soak up some of the excess oil. If desired, you can roll the finished product in table sugar or powdered sugar to make it sweeter.
desired) Beef or Crayfish seasoning cube to taste Salt to taste
Preparation Chop the vegetables into large chunks, add a little water at the base of the pot and boil. While the vegetable boils and softens, it starts to release its juice, leave the vegetables to release all the juices, turn off the heat, and allow to cool. Extract the juice into a pot. The juice is preferable if it’s gotten a couple of days before. Blend your vegetable and keep for making stew. You may add more water for more quantity then boil the juice. While boiling, add seasoning and African nutmeg, leave till the stock is well cooked then turn off the heat and allow to cool. Add the seafood; steer slightly to allow the seafood (fish, prawn and crab) to marinade in the juice for about 15-20 minutes. Turn up the heat and cook under low heat till it is soft. At this point the soup has become tastier because the seafood has released its flavour. You can decide to correct with salt if you so desire. Yummy!!! Seafood Tomato Pepper Soup is ready. Serve either warm or hot with a chilled drink of your choice.

A black dress is the easiest thing you can work with. Get it right, however, an all-black is a cool and timeless style that adds a creative edge to even the most straightforward outfit.
