I had an operation– myomectomy, five months ago, but anytime I go to toilet blood accompanies the stool. Is it as a result of the operation? – Aishatu. It is very unlikely that blood during defecation is due to myomectomy. The answer would have been different if the blood from the anus comes during menstraul period. In the latter case, endometriosis or uteroentero cutaneous fistula are possibilities. There are several causes of bloody stool. These include haemorrhoids and anal fissures. Also, in some cases, bloody stool can be a sign of gastrointestinal cancers.

Headache affecting my vision I usually experience serious headaches that affects my vision. The headache also affects my sleep at night: and it also affects my speech – Rabiu. How old are you? Are you hypertensive? What is your current blood pressure? Have you had migraine prior to now? I will suggest you go to the nearest hospital to check your blood pressure. Another issue is that ophthalmological problems can result in headaches. You need to see a physician and an ophthalmologist. It may be necessary to do CT scan of the brain to rule out possibility of brain tumour.

Unable to excrete I am unable to excrete and even if I manage to, I bleed from the anus – Hafsat, Apo You are most likely suffering from haemorrhoids. You need to take oranges, vegetables and fruits. With this diet, your stool will likely soften for easy passage. In appropriate cases, stool softeners like liquid paraffin and others may be necessary. However, see a surgeon for proper assessment.

Pains, unusual discharge three days after menstrual flow I recently experienced pains below my abdomen similar to menstrual pains two to three days after my period ended. I noticed a thick creamy discharge coming out which smelled like pap – F Ridwan. We have pointed out in several editions that that type of discharge: creamy and pap-like, is most likely candidiasis. Local antifungal administration may be sufficient. Because of the pains, you may need to do urine M/C/S and see your physician.
