MY MUM HAS STOMACH CANCER I was told my mum has stomach ulcer. She is sixty years old. Is there any cure? What do we do? Janet, Lokoja
S
tomach cancer is not an uncommon form of cancerous growth. It originates from the lining of the stomach. Cancer of the stomach affects men more than women. At about 70 to 80 years of age it is twice more common in men than women. It is not common before the age of fixity. It usually grow slowly over the years. The risk factors include aging, smoking, family history of stomach cancer. Others include diet rich in smoked salted food and less in fresh fruits and vegetables. Being male as mentioned above and infection with bacteria called H pylori. Bing overweight and obese also increase the risk of stomach cancer just like previous surgery for stomach ulcer, like gastrectomy. Exposure to asbestos and working in asbestos, rubber or coal industries. There is genetic predisposition too.
Symptoms and signs of stomach cancer include indigestion, heartburns, easy fullness, bloating sensation after feeds, nausea and loss of appetite. As it become more advance, symptoms includes: stomach pains, vomiting , bloody stool, weight loss, weakness, swelling of the stomach among others. Investigations to be done include various blood and stool tests. Also upper GI endoscopy is important, by this direct visualization is done.. Biopsy for definitive diagnosis has to be done. Treatment include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In the early stages, removal of the whole tumor is visible. Sometimes complete gastrectomy, that is removal of the whole stomach has to be done. Where complete removal of the tumor is not visible adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy can be done. You have to take mama to see a surgical oncologist. Though there is need for team work among Upper GI endoscopist, surgeon, medical oncologist, oncology nurse among others. To prevent stomach cancer from developing, one should avoid smoking, take a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, treat infection like H.pylori early and reduce obesity.
VAGINITIS
I noticed a white discharge comes out of my vagina especially immediately after urination, some mild burning in my vulva and bloating. I also have mild cramps and it disappears immediately after defecating, what’s the cause? Grace from Yola You may be having what is termed as vaginitis. It is multi-factorial. The whitish discharge is likely to be due to candidiasis as we have been mentioning in this column. Antifungal which can be Oral,, pessary or cream,. You will need
to do high vaginal swab for microscopy culture and sensitivity. You have to take a combination of metronidazole, doxycycline and any of the anti-fungal. Analgesics will be beneficial.
TWIN GESTATION AFTER CS WHAT DO I DO This is my third pregnancy, I delivered the first through Caesarean section while the second was normal delivery. I am currently thirty weeks pregnant with twin gestation. The doctor said I would be operated on (CS). Can I deliver normally? Why must I pass through CS again. Ngozi, Kano There is a dictum that says two obstetrics is equivalent to Caesarean section. Though this dictum is not hundred percent applicable. It it is still relevant nowadays. The twin gestation has its risk while the previous Caesarean section is another obstetric risk. Please, we encourge all who send questions or contributions to include at least their first name and town or city. Readers are also advised to copy the Tambari email address above while writing in. Thank you - Editor
Concerning twin gestation even if the first twin is cephalic, nobody can predict the position of the second twin which may eventually require manipulation during delivery this is not advisable with previous scar because of the risk of uterine rupture. I will suggest you listen to the advise of your doctor. It is not that you can not deliver by yourself but nobody knows what risk will actually happen to and life does not have duplicate.

WRITING WITH PASSION AND PURPOSE Educational background Surprisingly, I can only boast of a secondary school certificate as of now. All that I had learnt, I learnt without finishing from a university to acquire any degree. After finishing my secondary school, at Queen Amina College Kaduna, I proceeded to the College of Arts and Science where I made my papers ready for university. I then started reading Law at the Congo ABU campus, and then I dropped out. I should have graduated from the university many years ago but things took a different twist for me.Many would be disheartened to learn I was unable to accomplish something so simple, so necessary as having a degree. But actually, I am fine. Well, as fine as I could be. I am happy to say, I have learnt all that I have to learn from the school of life. I am not saying that I am happy that I dropped out in my first year, but at least I can say that Law wasn’t my path, as I had wanted to study Literature. At the end of this life, I will look back along the road I have walked, and I am generally happy with my path, because I have become what I had dreamt of becoming -a writer - with no formal training, except for some study in psychology and some little enlightenment here and there. Insight into my career Well, as I have explained in talking about my educational background, I have independently struggled over the years to make it as a writer, and by Allah’s will I have reached to a point where I can happily call myself one. I have all in all published nine works in my writing career, three of which have been used in post-secondary schools. I have published Rabiat, Rabiat’s Diary, Picking Up The Pieces, Memoirs Of A Modern Hausa Girl, and Reply To A Letter. In Hausa there are four published novels, which are Macentaka, Kace Nace, Duniya Madubi, and Duniyar Gizowhich has been used as a reference book for Masters students of Hausa in ABU Zaria. About three more of my novels have been used in literature in FCE Zaria, Unimaid, and Sokoto University. My passion for writing Yes..! Writing is such a huge part of me it’s difficult to pinpoint an exact reason as to why I do it. Let me just start by saying that I write to express myself. I must be a born writer to be able to write so comfortably and passionately as I like to do all the time. Writing is me;I mean I can’t stop. Life is nothing without my words and my quotes, and without novels etc. Without the aforementioned, I am nothing. I need writing. When I am not writing, I don’t feel like myself. To take a long break from writing is to feel lost. I am the words I write. So, to me, writing is like breathing:If I stop writing, I no longer exist. This is it.
interview by AMINA ALHASSAN & HAFSAH ABUBAKAR MATAZU Aishatu Gidado Idris, also called Uwa or Uwanbaba by family and friends, was born on the 9th of July 1960 to Alhaji Gidado Idris and late Rabiatu. She has been writing under her surname for the past 20 years. She wrote her first book in 1993 and has been writing novels in both English and Hausa, since then. Aishatu, who is the first born of her parents and has 10 brothers and a sister, is from Zaria in Kaduna State. She is married and has three male and two female children.
What growing up was like I grew up a moody but happy child, only interested in having my way, in most cases. I remember being a victim of bullying by children bigger and bolder than myself and that had made me fearful of being as friendly as I could be then. When I remember what I was like as a child I can’t believe it. I was extremely gullible. I absolutely believed what everyone said. My family knew this and would take advantage to their great entertainment. I was six years old, and my aunty used to talk to me sarcastically when I acted stupid, and funnily I never understood the difference between sarcasm and real
talk. But being a ‘first born’ a lot of people around me most times, excused my stupidity which came from being naïve. I also remember when I was little I loved to climb the roof of our house and just sit there enjoying the privacy. I don’t know why I liked to do that. I was a tomboy caught in the body of a shy quiet girl. In fact I came out as someone full of contradictions yet someone with a mind of her own. Childhood memories I miss the carefree freedom of my childhood; I miss the peacefulness of our street where there was no crime or anything like that; I miss the music of
LIFE WAITS FOR NO ONE. LIFE HAS ALSO TAUGHT ME TO BE MINDFUL OF HOW I INTERACT WITH PEOPLE AS ONE NEVER KNOWS IF IT’S GOING TO BE FOR THE LAST TIME. LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME HOW DIVINE FORGIVENESS CAN BE.
the seventies; I miss the Goody Goody sticky chocolate; I miss my doting grandparents. Challenges Being a writer is challenging at times. It’s not just the writing, it is the publishing and the selling. Over the last two years, I have had so much difficulty searching for good publishers that can publish and help sell my books. So I always ended up selfpublishing. In my years as a writer, I have faced many challenges, financially. I have experienced some readers even telling me to write about what I am not even interested in or have no knowledge of not knowing that as a creative writer, creativity is the watch word. I used to tell them that the beauty of a writer is in his or her originality. Without any doubt, the poor reading culture in our country is a big challenge to the publishing industry. Books rank very low on the preference list of an average Nigerian, and this has made it difficult to achieve turnover that is commensurate with our huge population. There is also no cooperation from Nigerian publishers and the marketability is somehow low. It’s enough having to write, edit, and publish your work. But when there is no marketability then it’s too bad. I wish the government can come to our rescue on this matter. Life’s lessons Life has taught me some great lessons. The greatest lesson life taught me is to have faith in Allah, My Creator, as anything else is folly. Life taught me that time is money, because I have faced people talking about my entire life, but never to me and faced being judged on hearsay and malicious gossip. So life has taught me to ignore all that, and face my life’s path, since nothing is going to go on forever, so why should I waste my precious time worrying about what people say? Life waits for no one. Life has also taught me to be mindful of how I interact with people as one never knows if it’s going to be for the last time. Life has taught me how divine forgiveness can be. All in all the best lessons life taught me is that of patience. Motherhood First and foremost, being a mother to me means, being in a position to be compassionately understanding to those children Allah has entrusted me with, as mother. I love being a mother and I have wonderful children that challenge me in a good way to be the best mother
TAMBARI SUNDAY, F E B R UA R Y 12, 2017 PAGE 30
CO V E R // AISHATU GIDADO IDRIS that I can be. It is a very special duty and purpose that I have been granted. I have enjoyed every minute of being a mother; even during the most difficult times. It is a most wonderful, challenging blessing that I cannot imagine anyone could experience in any other way. Being a mother doesn’t define who I am; it has only made me better than I am. Most cherished gift Of course as human beings, we always remember the special tangible things we get from people like cars, house, jewelry or clothes. I started thinking about the gifts from my second mother, friends, aunties, loved ones that came from the soul, not the store. But there are some gifts that are not unwrapped on a single day, but in bits and pieces every single day...months and even years. They are priceless gifts. They last a lifetime, and it is a reminder of how to give. So my most cherished gift was from my father ever since I was six years old and it was a gift of education; a firm solid life enhancing type of education, which started me off quite quickly on how to look at the world via enlightened eyes that I still cherish today. That gift is what helped me in many ways, especially in knowing that there are many ways to do things. It has made me learn the art of reflection. Best fashion accessory My rings! I do love wearing rings. I wear them a lot. I have many of them, some with stones and some plain and, of course, thumb rings....all silver. I don’t really care for gold ones. It’s like an addiction. I love bangles and bracelets too, but I prefer rings to anything. My husband and I Since my present marriage isn’t my first, I got discouraged assuming I couldn’t get a husband for myself. In the psychological fix I found myself, I had to pray fervently for Allah to choose a husband for me. And He did. I got this husband of mine through a male acquaintance who paired us up for a political meeting. We got friendly and marriage talks started from there. Most cherished attribute of his I cherish his compassion, meaning warm heartedness. With this I feel safe with him. Best travel destination Saudi Arabia. How I relax I relax by writing, reading or watching television. Sometimes I relax by listening to my favourite Qur’an reciter,Salman Al Utaybi. Favourite kind of books Oftentimes I find myself thinking about a book, reliving the torment and terror faced by the characters and I become sad. There is this book that I must read again because it has impacted me much. ‘The Kite Runner’, written by Khaled Hosseini, has opened my eyes and heart to the struggles of people who have no options left; of people who are victims of ugly circumstances; and of people who are not only found in Afghanistan but perhaps in other parts of the world too. Favourite meal and drink My favourite food is tuwo da miyan kuka, and favourite drink is La Casera. My fashion style I like African fashion styles. Boubous being complimented with African beads with lots of colours. I like the conventional styles like the sixties and seventies fashion. Shadda is my
favourite clothing material. I also like to cover up a lot. Favourite designer Actually I am not designer conscious. I actually don’t prefer the expensive things. I prefer the cheaper things. There are a few brands that sell expensive things that I buy and buy from no other like Miu Miu for my eyewear. Dolce and Gabbana is another favourite. I love Arabian perfumes with strong oud and musk in it. This I can spend a lot on. But for the most part, I buy the cheaper things that suit my temperament. For shoes, any nice slippers would do. Same thing goes for bags, any good one will do. I have weird taste you know. And I don’t have expensive taste. Mum’s words that stuck till date My mum was a woman of few words. My friends would always complain about the dreaded ‘motherly advice’ they received at home, but I rarely did. My mother didn’t speak much about life. Life’s for living and anything is from Allah, she used to say, but that was not often. As I looked through the snapshots of her life, as she’s late, I realized that her actions spoke louder than her words. My mother, without saying a thing, told me a lot about life by her quiet actions. I just never took the time to notice as I was too young then. My present second mother taught me about perseverance, as well as the value of independence. Best car and colour I love Peugeot brand. My favourite is Peugeot 607. My favourite colours are white, blue, army green and rose pink. My beauty routine I actually don’t have a serious beauty routine, except thatI wash my face as soon as I wake up from sleep and the last thing before I go to bed. I value natural soaps i.e. black soap which I have been using for close to 30 years. These days I take supplements like
PAGE 31 TAMBARI SUNDAY, F E B R UA R Y 12, 2017
multivitamins for better health, one a day before going to bed. I eat twice a day and sometimes with healthy snacks in between. Oh I forgot! I am not a fan of exercise, but I only do exercise to feel good and keep fit, and not because I like it. My role model today... My role model today is the seasoned political activist, mother, educator and humanitarian. She is more commonly known as Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad. She is famous for being an outspoken, respectable and no nonsense woman. She takes care of the masses politically and fights for their rights.I admire her, because she cares about other people who are less fortunate, and she really tries to make a difference in those people’s lives, which I think is a very kind and thoughtful thing to do. Besides that,I also admire her sense of compassion that is laced with an inner strength that is so amazing. She has the knack for making great sacrifices for the sake of justice. Looking back, what would I tell a younger me Dear younger me, hear me now.
MY RINGS! I DO LOVE WEARING RINGS. I WEAR THEM A LOT. I HAVE MANY OF THEM, SOME WITH STONES AND SOME PLAIN AND, OF COURSE, THUMB RINGS....ALL SILVER. I DON’T REALLY CARE FOR GOLD ONES. IT’S LIKE AN ADDICTION. I LOVE BANGLES AND BRACELETS TOO, BUT I PREFER RINGS TO ANYTHING
Please do stop trying to fit in, and don’t waste time with people who don’t care about you. Don’t worry so much. This is what I would have told the younger me. The fashion accessory I can’t do without Can I call my hijab a fashion accessory? Well Ican’t do without it. My rings and well-chosen eyewear that looks fashionable instead of a necessity and my bracelets are my favourite fashion accessories. My empowerment programme for women and children Yes I am still waiting to start my counseling programme for children that have been traumatised, and emotionally abused. We all know that there has to be intervention for adolescents or even older people struggling with alcoholism. A lot of people are doing their best on such matters and I hope to do my share too. As of now I have finished my research on that. Learning the proper steps to open acounseling office, is the first leap of my journey. So I am still learning the proper steps. Like any business, there are certain factors to take into consideration such as money, office and so on. My NGO - IDCCA - Initiative for Development, Counseling and Care, is a bit grounded due to lack of finance, but all the same, that wouldn’t stop me from doing a bit of counseling time to time, before the time comes for doing it full time. We once did a job in Kano and it was disheartening to see how those addicts were ready to be rescued with the right offer of hope in life. You see, drug addiction is a cycle that constantly spins in the minds and bodies of those afflicted. It can be chronic, it can be heartbreaking, and it can take us by complete surprise. Addiction, however, can also be prevented. By understanding the risk factors and the signs of a substance use disorder, we can identify the preventive measures that will work to keep addiction out of our own lives, and out of the ones we hold closest to us. While you may look at a 12-year-old boy today, and think, addiction won’t affect him, he’s much too young to try drugs, too smart to become addicted, try to understand that anyone, at any age, can become addicted to drugs. It only takes a few ‘firsts’ to provoke the downward spiral, and the initiation of drug use often takes place much sooner than we anticipate. Which is quite sad indeed. First and last app I check daily My first and last app for the day is always facebook. I check my status for comments; I read my newsfeed and reply. Best music always on replay Every kind of music is my favourite. I used to like reggae in my younger days, and I also listen to Aminu Ladan Ala’s songs being my favourite singer in my native language. He sings about life, love and circumstances which strongly appeal to my inner self, as a ponderer. But for as long as I can remember, I have loved the songs of Oum Kalthoum, the Egyptian songstress. As a respected woman, I wouldn’t be caught wearing I wouldn’t be caught wearing a T-shirt. Not even to sleep in. I have never liked clingy clothes even in my younger days, let alone now.

Healthy lifestyle tips for adults by JAMILA DAUDA FREDA
A
lot of adults eat practically everything without thinking of the side effects or benefits of such foods or drinks on their health and life. Calories and other toxic fluids in our system need to be burnt and flushed out of our system. Start taking these steps and be sure to achieve a very healthy body system. Healthy weight: Excess weight may lead to heart disease and diabetes. Creating and following plans for healthy eating and physical activity may help you improve your health. BMI, which is body mass index, is another way to know if you are of healthy weight, overweight or obese. It measures your weight in relation with your height. Another way to find out if you are at risk for health problems caused by overweight and obesity is to measure your waist. If you are a woman and your waist is more than 35 inches, or if you are a man and your waist is more than 40 inches, your risk of disease may be higher. Healthy Eating: Paying attention to what, when, how often, and how much you eat can be the first step to helping you eat better. Eat more of these nutrient-rich foods, nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber our bodies what they need to be healthy - fruits and vegetables, whole grains, like oatmeal, whole-wheat bread, and brown rice, seafood, lean meats, poultry, and eggs, fat-free or low-fat milk and cheese, or substitutes that are high in vitamin D and calcium, beans, nuts, and seeds then try and eat less of these. Some foods have many calories but few of the vitamins, minerals, or fiber your body needs. Physical Activity: Exercise is another good way of burning the calories.Join aerobic activities because it has lots of benefits. It controls weight, prevents heart disease and stroke and maintains strong bones.Aerobic activity uses your large muscle groups like chest, legs, and back to increase your heart beat rate. It always causes you to breathe harder. You should be able to speak several words
in a row while doing aerobic exercises, but you should not be able to have a long chat. Aim for at least 150 minutes (2-1/2 hours) each week. Choose aerobic activities that are fun. People are more likely to be active if they like what they are doing. Getting support from a friend or a family member may also help. Activities like brisk walking or jogging, bicycling, swimming, playing basketball or soccer. Be Good To Yourself • A lot people feel stress in their daily lives, due to work especially. Stress can cause you to overeat, feel tired, and not want to do anything. Healthy eating and regular physical activity may help offset the effects of stress. Try some of these and you would feel relieved and stay on track: • Get plenty of sleep • Practice deep breathing while relaxing your muscles one at a time. • Take a break and go for a walk. • Add short stretch breaks to your day • Try a new hobby or any activity that sparks your interest • Surround yourself with people whose company you enjoy. And lastly, a balanced eating plan, regular physical activity, and stress relief would help you stay healthy for life.

The perfect gift for the stylish man by FEMI MOHAMMED
N
ot so long ago, everyone seemed to be throwing Christmas and New Year wishes all around as well as exchanging gifts. Fast forward to a couple of weeks and here we are staring the 14th of February in the face. Valentine’s Day is that special date set aside for lovers and in as much as the women are majorly the recipients of
//
goodies this season, here are a few gift ideas to make your man all mushy on the inside even if he tries to hide it: • Perfumes/Colognes: There is just something romantic about colognes and a cool masculine-scented one will definitely lighten up a stylish man’s eyes • Designer Briefs: Lots of Nigerian men are used to receiving this as gifts and inasmuch as we are at the verge of a
protest against it, a cool-looking Calvin Klein’s will definitely do magic • A pair of Italian leather shoes: Stylish men’s love for good shoes can never be overstated. Try to imagine the reception a pair of Santoni shoes or even Chelsea boots will get from a man who knows style • A classic timepiece: A good wristwatch is everything to some style-
conscious men hence, no wrong can be done presenting a classic timepiece this love season • Anything at all: Men generally are almost always about the gesture than whatever the gift turns out to be. Surprise your man with any good gift and he’s sure to appreciate the gesture.

Mai Atafo launches ME! Collection at South Africa Menswear week by FEMI MOHAMMED
Nigeria’s foremost bespoke tailor, Ohimai Atafo, launched his ME! Collection at the just concluded SA Menswear week. Speaking on the inspiration behind this collection, Mai said; “The ME! Collection is a collection that describes my journey from when I was 19 years old to this present day. “In my early years hand downs from my brothers and shopping second-hands because one couldn’t afford new cool clothes made up my wardrobe. Added to this was my need to standout by re-inventing these pieces through reconstructing or sometimes deconstructing them. The hand printing helps tell a literal story. “The base for all this was my love for denim, velvet, corduroy (ridged velvet) suede, leopard print and camouflage.” He further said: “In the last few years, my love for tuxedos led to a path where I respected the dresscode and also gave it twist. This is subtly visible by the velvet taping on the trousers matching the jacket fabric (velvet) rather than the conventional trouser tapping matching the lapel of the tuxedo jacket. Not to forget the smoking jacket with our trademark shawl peck lapel (like all the tuxedos in the collection) with hounds tooth trousers rather than the traditional tartan checks. “For once a collection that wasn’t about predicting consumer trend but one that’s truly Mai Atafo and what I loved, love and will be loving. “I know there is one piece for everybody in this collection”.

“You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet.” — Christian Dior PAGE 34 TAMBARI SUNDAY, F E B R UA R Y 12, 2017
GIVE YOUR BEDROOM A BOHEMIAN LOOK
by UCHE EZE b
B
ohemian inspired bedroom decor can be gorgeous, comforting and creative; however it’s more complicated than just throwing up a mash of colors, patterns and dream catchers. With a cohesive plan, bohemian decor can transform a bedroom into a unique oasis. Tis edition, we’ll be showing you how to create the type of timeless bohemian decor that will turn your bedroom into the creative and cozy hideaway you have always desired. • Colour is a vital aspect of creating your bohemian haven. It’s important to choose a cohesive colour scheme to avoid a
rainbow effect. Though you can easily do an all-white room, you can also pick a neutral colour plus an accent colour and several different shades of it to work with. • For a bohemian bedroom you’ll want to create a luxurious yet casual and comfortable atmosphere, and this is done best by layering different fabrics throughout your space. Start with your bed; choose your duvet, it can be either a plain pattern or decorative design, and then pick out a feet blanket to

he balcony is the perfect place to spend some time together with friends and enjoy evenings outdoors, or simply just have some alone time. If you do not have a garden, you could set up a cozy retreat on the balcony. A beautiful and comfortable balcony may not always be expensive, you can easily and quickly source for accessories and furniture from your already existing collection.
A cozy balcony is very easy to achieve. Simply get a chair or two, be sure to go for creatively designed chairs, and a cute table to go with them. Gather some charming and eye-catching wall frames to spice your balcony up. It is important to add colour to your balcony whether it’s through the furniture, the floor coverings or with the accessories you pick. Finally, give your balcony a gardenlike look by displaying some plants and flowers.

LU X U R Y L I V I N G lay across the bed. Now move to the floor; find an area rug that will tie the room together and prevent things from looking too random. Another opportunity to add fabric to your room is a window; find some unique curtains to hang over your windows. • Lighting isn’t the most fun aspect of decor at first thought, but there are so many ways to light your room and it’s one of the most significant changes you can make. Bohemian decor requires intricate lighting. Lantern style lamps will give your room that perfect diffused glow. But definitely incorporate some scented candles! • Bohemian decor wouldn’t be complete without a little green. This green could be natural or artificial, depending on your preference. Go shopping for beautiful green plants, also shop for luxurious vases for these plants. Make sure not to go for bulky and high-tipped plants, but plants of a smaller nature. • Details are where bohemian decor shines. Just one rule here; leave no surface bare. The great part about choosing a bohemian decor style is that you can decorate with basically anything. • This is the part where bohemian decor can lose its focus and become cluttered and unflattering. Patterns are both essential and challenging to incorporate. You’ll want to work with several patterns to give the sense of movement and layers that is central to bohemian decor. A tip to simplify your life when adding patterns; let your pieces share at least one colour and attempt to stay in the same pattern family. With additional information from the internet

What you should know before dying your hair black by HAFSAH ABUBAKAR MATAZU b
D
ying your hair jet black has become a normal routine for some women just like relaxing. But just like any chemical product, in order to maintain length and also healthy hair, there are a few things you should bear in mind before taking that step. We spoke with a hair specialist, Joy Thomas of Lavish Love Salon in Abuja and we got a few handy tips: Deep condition: Before you take the
step to dye your hair, ensure that you have been deep conditioning your hair weekly for like a month and the night before dying your hair so that the hair will be healthy. Moisturize: Using oils like Shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil on your hair is important to keep it moisturized. Dying your hair while it is brittle and dry is a recipe for hair breakage. Stick to one product: A lot of people make the mistake of using different
hair. Sticking to on one products for their hair product is quite essential and it is also important to use good quality products enriched with moisturizers and natural oils before and after dying your hair. Joy recommended these products that guarantee healthy, moisturized and long hair, which are Moroccan Oil and organic products. She also emphasized on using honey on the hair as a treatment. Items every woman needs in her make-up wardrobe N eedless to say you can’t be a glam without some makeup essentials in your wardrobe. Makeup is every girl’s best friend and we simply cannot do without it. Some of us may feel like we can go without some items because of our budgets and how expensive some brands of makeup can be. But we have to emphasize on how much you need these particular makeup items no matter how big or small your wardrobe may be. Primer: Unfortunately, not all of us fully understand the importance of a primer yet it is a crucial item that we all simply must have in our makeup wardrobe. It prepares the face for makeup by filling up the pores and fine lines and mattifying the face from oil breakouts. Overall it provides a perfect surface to apply makeup. Foundation: We cannot do without a good foundation. What else can you use to properly put together you makeup and hide all those unwanted spots? Eyeliner: Eyeliners lift the face and add a degree
of radiance. Have you noticed how much eyeliner can transform how you look on a day that you’re sleep deprived? This is an item that we all cannot do without. Mascara: If you’re going to bat those eyelashes, you can’t do it right if your eyelashes aren’t long and voluminous. Mascara adds so much detail to the eye and ties up eye makeup together. Eye shadow pallete: Eye shadow draws attention to the eyes. If you can’t decide on what colours to go for in a pallete, one with nude shades will be your best choice because it will go with about any outfit on any day. Lipstick: Lipsticks give your makeup that pop of colour it needs and they come in all the colours you can possibly imagine so there is a shade for everyone.
