7-YEAR-OLD WITH PERSISTENT CHEST PAINS Good day Sir. I have a 7 year old daughter who always complain of chest pain I took her to the hospital twice an she was given only painkillers, the doctor I saw last felt she look OK to him, but she still continue to complain of the same pain ,at the time of complain if I touch her chest it beats very fast and now the complain is more frequent. Please help as I don’t know what step to take next. Zulaihat Sulaiman from Lokoja Let me say that it is not advisable to give only painkillers for chest pains. There are so many possible causes from chest infections like pneumonia to cardiac or heart conditions like heart failure. I have had a situation where somebody is being given antacid and painkillers for chest pains and not too long the person died of myocardial infarction (heart problem) The fact that the heartbeat appear to be fast is showing possibility of cardiac or cardiovascular involvement . Please take the child to see a pediatrician for proper history taking, thorough examination and investigations so that appropriate treatment can be given.

Is the any limits in taking multivitamins? Yetunde Yes. Too much of anything is bad. For each multivitamin, there is a recommended dose. We should imbibe the habit of sticking to prescriptions and recommended dosage. For example too much Vitamin C or Zinc causes abdominal cramps or diarrhea. Too much iron irritates the gastrointestinal tract and could cause nausea, abdominal pains, diarrhea. Micronutrients in multivitamins like Selenium if taken too much can cause hair loss and nerve damage. A number of the multivitamins in excess can cause irregular heartbeats like excessive Vitamin D. There is gross abuse, wastage of money and paradoxical health problem with uncontrolled taking of multivitamins and the so called “natural food supplements “. Do not assume consult your doctor or at least stick to recommended dosage of multivitamins and supplements. Avoid multiple of these at the same time. Please, we encourge all who send questions or contributions to include at least their first name and town or city. Readers are also advised to copy the Tambari email address above while writing in. Thank you - Editor

The 54 year old, Film maker is the second child from a family of eight. Four boys and four girls. Her dad is late but her mum is still alive. Hajiya Tee during her secondary school
S
days in Dalla became popular for leading a riot to the government house to report the principal of their school over the quality of food they were being served. Hajiya Tee Zuma is involved in numerous NGOs and community development helping on empowering the less privileged and supporting the welfare of the people with different backgrounds. She has always supported and encouraged talented younger generations. She is also a mother/grandmother and currently a business woman. This film maker sure holds nothing back as she let Tambari into her life and many more.
I grew up in Kano and was always spending my holidays in Jos because it was one of the happening and best States in those days. Growing up was fun. My aspirations growing up I really wanted to be in the Navy as a Naval Nurse but I didn’t because I got married and started having children. I also loved acting and dancing, but all that got swept under the carpet. I always aspired to be in the movie world and pursued it and today here I am, making my mark in the movie world. Fond childhood memories I miss I miss my Secondary school days. I used to be the most stubborn girl and at the same time a very kind person of my set then, because I defended my friends from bullies and from our senior students. I became so popular after leading my whole set in a riot to the government house by walking from Dalla to government house from midnight till early morning to report our Principal for giving us nasty and tasteless food. Secondary school days are the best years, sure miss those days. Life’s challenges I can’t really remember any challenges in my career. But I did face some challenges in my personal life mostly from my marriage. Rather than that I am most Grateful to Almighty Allah for my life today. Life’s lessons Life has thought me a lot of things. I have met people who you started life with when they had nothing and as soon as they have something, you become an enemy to them. So life has thought me not to trust anyone in life but Allah alone. And life has also taught me to believe in myself alone and keep believing in myself.
Educational background I went to Hill Crest Primary School Jos in 1977 and then to Government Girls College Dalla Kano, after my secondary school I went straight to Ahmadu Bello University School of Nursing/ Midwifery to in join the Nigerian Navy as a Naval Nurse but I got married the same year I finished my programme. So I had to drop everything to concentrate on my marriage. Then few years Later I went to Kaduna Polytechnic to Study Nutrition and Dietetics. I later moved to United Kingdom, where I studied Business Administration NVG/QCF at the University of West of England
Bristol. I later I went back on track to study what really makes me happy which is film making. I went to Cardiff University where I graduated with a Diploma in Cinematography and Practical filmmaking (DIPHE) My passion for the screen As a child actress I started my acting career in Jos but when I got married I packed everything aside until 30 years later. I am fully back into acting and directing in the UK and Nigeria. I have always had a passion for the screens. What growing up was like My growing up was fantastic
Joy of motherhood The joy of being a mother has no boundaries. The joy of a mother is to see that her children grow up to know God and their religion then most especially learn their language notwithstanding where ever they were brought up and have good education. I also love seeing my children enjoying my home cooked food. My children are my joy and everything to me. Most cherished gifts My children give me the best gifts. I appreciate all my children’s gifts to me especially the golds they all individually bought me with their feeding money given to them by their Dad in MAKAH the Holy land. I will cherish those earrings and rings they bought me forever.
CO V E R
Three fashion accessories I always have on me I love my gold rings, chains and earrings I even sleep with them on me. I also like my bangles, glasses. How I met my husband I met my husband sometimes in 1985 around Ahmadu Bello way in Kaduna when I came back from ABU Zaria, while on a vacation. He saw me standing waiting for my friend to pick me up and drove passed me and came back three times before talking to me. That was how it all started before it led to marriage a month later. Attributes of his I appreciate most Though we are no longer together now, I used to cherish the way we drove through his village with our children stopping at (Gulbi) riverside in Katsina state. We let the children play inside the river singing ( Matan Bala). He was a very kind and forgiving person who really loved his family so much until in 2006 when he married a second wife our first daughter’s age mate. Since then I have no idea after our divorce why he changed. Best travelled destination My best traveled destination is the Holy land Makah in Saudi Arabia .Though I have traveled around the world for holidays but I always find peace of mind when I am in Makah. Best relaxation mode I relax by watching television in my room munching popcorn or nuts. Funny enough, sometimes going through my phone reading massages is also a form of relaxation for me. Last good book I read Well am not a book fan but
I BECAME SO POPULAR AFTER LEADING MY WHOLE SET IN A RIOT TO THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE BY WALKING FROM DALLA TO GOVERNMENT HOUSE FROM MIDNIGHT TILL EARLY MORNING TO REPORT OUR PRINCIPAL FOR GIVING US NASTY AND TASTELESS FOOD

Let your home breath by DORCAS DANIEL
W
hether you’re downsizing your home to get rid of unwanted items or changing apartments, moving stuffs in the house can be both confusing and exhausting as you’re stuck with deciding what to keep and then, just as tricky, what to do with all the stuff. A newly cleaned room sure feels peaceful and spacious not to mention fully functional and getting rid of household junks can be genuinely refreshing. As Williams Morris rightly said “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” Therefore, hoarding junks in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, sitting room or garage is should be avoided with these simple tips. · Drive out laziness; It is entirely possible to live in a clutter-free environment but the stress associated with getting rid of items in the home can be discouraging. So, the first step to living in a clutter-free home is to take heart and believe it is entirely possible. Realize that you will never get there of it if you do not resolve in your mind that you can accomplish it. · Remove the excess; Households junks begin to appear most prominently when we own too much stuff. Therefore remove the excessive possessions that have stolen your space, comfort and energy. · Slow the accumulation of possessions; Getting new stuffs cannot be avoided but the influx of possessions into our homes can be slowed and managed efficiently by evaluating our purchases differently. · Dispose the unwanted items properly; It is very important to dispose your household junks properly else you end up hoarding the same items over again. You can either sell or give them out.

atural hair can be a headache to manage especially since African hair can be very tough and frizzy. Dryness and brittleness of our kinky hair needs a special kind of care because of how delicate the hair can be. When choosing the right hairstyle for your natural hair, the main aim should be to try and limit the stress of environmental factors and handling of your hair. Here are a few hairstyles that are awesome for length retention, moisture retention while looking super stylish too. - Cornrows: These work great for short, natural hair that needs to be extended and protected. They can be done in a jiffy and work miracles on natural hair. - Braids: These are an ideal hairstyle for natural hair and the best part is that they last for weeks and are super easy to maintain.
- Twists: Twist your natural hair towards the nape of your neck. This hairstyle is youthful and vibrant but can still be easily pulled off by any lady. - A mix of braids and twists: You can jazz up a short hairstyle by incorporating both twists and braids. It is quick and easy to do and does not need any form of heat to keep it together. - The Dutch roll: It is one of the easiest protective hairstyles ideally for wash and go mornings. A simple up-do looks elegant and pretty too. - High hair bun: Any hair bun that tucks in the ends of your hair and puts minimal stress on it counts. The best time to do this hairstyle is when you are taking a break for weaves or braids of any sort. With additional information from the internet
