The type of rupture will determine whether you can be allowed to get pregnant and deliver or not. Extensive rupture or classical rupture necessitate tubal ligation even if the uterus was repaired and not subtotal hysterectomy. In which case you would have been counseled. In your case, for the doctor not to have told you means you can still get pregnant. But ensure you inquire for the details of the ruptured uterus. Though delivery has to be by Caesarean section. It is also advisable to admit the woman for observation from 30 - 32 weeks till the time of delivery. This is because rupture can reoccur with minimal contraction. Also it may be advisable to do the operation early than normal. I have done some at thirty six weeks of gestation instead of the normal thirty seven to eight weeks.
UNUSAUL BODY PAINS
I am 27 years old and have been experiencing some unusual pains around my abdomen, and back. I also have severe headaches and my neck sort of gets stiff sometimes. Please, what could be the problem? Sarah You seem to be having musculoskeletal pains. It is difficulty for me to make an accurate diagnosis without further history and physical examination I will advise you to see your family physician.
MULTIPLE FIBROIDS I was diagnosed with multiple fibroids Please what can Ido? Am married no child for seven years now. Aisha Bauchi From what you described the first thing is to do myomectomy that is removal of fibroids through operation. Meanwhile you and your spouse should be investigated for the real cause of the infertility.
CAN I DO FOLLICULAR TRACKING ON DAY 20 I have done follicle tracking for day 12 &15 it’s remaining day 20 which is on a Saturday Saturday. My question is can I do any one before Saturday? What if it comes before Saturday. Thanks Abiola, Abuja How do you come about the days you did the follicular tracking? The days are unusual for a normal twenty eight days cycle. Because around day 14 or 15 there would have been ovulation. But you can still do it before Friday. Let me also mention that the best person to tell you the date for the next scan in follicular tracking is the radiologist or the person doing the serial scan. For example if a request says day 8, 12 and 16 but by day eight the leading follicular is alraedy about 15mm . It may not be advisable to wait till day 12, two days from the last scan will be ok. So anytime you go for follicular tracking ask the person scanning for the best date to come for the next scan not necessarily the date on the request form.
LOW WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT When the white blood cells in a child is low is low what do you do? Susan. The question is what causes the low white blood cells and how severe is it? Also to know what types of white blood cells is low. Could be congenital or drug induced. There are drugs that affect blood cell level. The first is for an Haematologist to do, a complete full blood count and blood picture. Then based on findings on history, physical examination and the laboratory results, advise can be given.

What was growing up like? Growing up was actually a mixed bag. I imagine that’s the same for everyone. Good times, tough times but overall it was fine as I had wonderful parents who made me believe in myself and taught me to excel in whatever I chose to do. Challenges Nothing untoward honestly just like any other average person. Over the years, what have been your life lessons? That people are the most important thing in life and if you put them first, you won’t go wrong. What is the most rewarding part of your career? I love meeting young people who tell me that I inspire them. It really is rewarding and it makes me feel good about what I do. What were your aspirations growing up? I always knew I wanted to be a good journalist right from a young age from when I listed to the BBC with my parents. What fond child memories do you miss? I used to love riding my bicycle. Many are too young so they won’t know what I’m talking about but I had a purple chopper. I loved that bike and still get nostalgic thinking about riding it. I am about to start riding again so I look forward to it. What is your typical day like? As a journalist who is self-employed, my day can vary. Sometimes I’m in Abuja prepping for my television show, other times I’m in the office writing, putting together applications for grants, other times am training both journalists and corporate people and other times in meetings with clients. How did you meet your husband? I met him in London. Top 5 things on your wish list I wish for good health, peace and contentment, happy children, a developed and functional Nigeria and a world that isn’t so messed up. Favourite kind of music on replay My taste in music is so eclectic. It ranges from Rihanna to Bob Marley to Omawunmi to Tecno to Taylor Swift to the Everley Brothers to John Legend to Naziru, to Charlie Puth to the Staples Singers to Ummu Sangare to Womack and Womack to Ali Farka Toure to Fela. Balancing play and worship D uring the holy month of Ramadan, it is important to guide your kids in the right direction to reap the benefits of the month. Encouraging them to participate in religious activities like praying, fasting and supplication can be tasking due to a kids nature of wanting to play so it is crucial to ensure that you strike a balance between play and worship for the kids. Timing: Let them know that there is a time for everything, and worship cannot be joined with anything else and also remind them of how much closer to God they are while performing prayers. But still, give them time to play just as long as it doesn’t conflict the time of worship. Go with them to places of worship: Once they see the number of people that come to the mosque and church to pray, it will also encourage them to do so. Also, make sure they stand beside you and monitor them closely while the prayers are being conducted. Teach them the importance of worship: Constantly remind your child
the importance of praying, fasting, and reading the Qur’an and Bible too. Play comes secondary to anything else so before they can play, they must have performed their prayers and all other necessary worship.Sit them down and talk to them about fasting and praying and living right. Make them understand why you are restraining them from certain activities at this period especially in the period of Ramadan and Lent. Make the period of worship enjoyable: Whenever it’s time for family religious activities, try to get them involved. Make the session as enjoyable as you can for them. Regulate the type of play: Pay close attention to the kind of play your kids engage in. rough and dangerous play that will exhaust them is not advisable. Also as parents, we should monitor the kind of games our children play especially with various game apps available online. Most games are dangerous for children.

Overeating in Ramadan Stories by HAFSAH ABUBAKAR MATAZU
A
fter a day of hunger and thirst, once the call to prayer for maghrib is heard, the first thing one thinks about is putting food in the mouth and a cold drink to rehydrate. But just like everything else, overeating when breaking the fast can do more harm than good to the body. It is hard to resist the urge of eating too much but for health reasons, it is best to take it one bite at a time. Speaking on fasting, Dr. Amadi Ikechukwu of the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, talks on the nutritional and health benefits of it. Complications like vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, heartburn and gas all can be caused by eating too much and too fast too when breaking fast. Overeating after breaking the fast can cause much discomfort to your stomach and affect your body’s performance afterwards and the following day too. Also, eating too much carbs while breaking the fast can lead to laziness and sleepiness and in turn, weight gain before the month ends.
So it is best that you control your eating after breaking the fast and eat in controlled portions. Do not overstuff and give space in your stomach for food later on so that you continue fasting in a well and healthy state. Therefore, it is recommended to break the fast with a few dates as the Prophet (PBUH) also did
to boost sugar level; and a glass of milk or yogurt for protein and then proceed to pray Maghrib before indulging in the main iftar meal. This gives your stomach the chance to open up after a day of fasting and for the food to digest much easily.

The rate of domestic violence in marriages has increased in recent times, and Nollywood actor says women have a role to play in reducing this trend. The actor took to Instagram on telling women to watch their mouth while talking to their husbands, as this will help especially with hot-tempered men. “Women have a very big role to play in making sure that these things won’t happen. Ideal centerpieces for the dining table C
entre pieces are usually the focal point of any dining room. Therefore, it is important to place the right centerpieces on the dining table. Deciding on a centerpiece for the dining table can be a bit daunting, but all that matters is that your centerpieces are simple yet elegant. For normal family dinner, keep it subtle, minding the height of your centerpiece, so that conversations can freely flow at the table. On the other hand, when a few friends and extended family members come over for dinner, you can choose to go big and bold with your centerpiece. The appropriateness between the style of the table centerpieces chosen and the dining table style used is the key point of making the best kind of dining table centerpieces. Therefore, make sure that there correlation between the style of the dining room and the centerpiece.
