True Story: One of the most important things I asked (a successful group of marketers), when I got started in my first online business, was, “What’s the best advice you can give me, for the biggest results, in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of headaches?” You see, I had already built a large Team in Traditional Network Marketing – to the tune of over 10,000 customers & distributors in a popular juice company back in the early 2000’s, so I already had the belief that if others could be successful working for themselves online, without the headaches and hassles of cold calling, pitching family & friends, and hosting home parties & hotel events, I could too. This was just a matter of my own confidence – which anyone can develop if they don’t already have it. The way I saw it, was that the only difference between them and me, was time, so I wanted to know just a few key suggestions that I could run with, to ensure that I got off to a fast start. Because creating a Fast Start Story is one of the most powerful things you could do for yourself and your business, as it’s the story about how you got started, what you were doing before, what your challenges were, how you found or got introduced to the solution, and what’s happened since. Once you have a story to tell, you will use it to create even more results, momentum, and success. Then, as others share your story, they can create more results of their own. This is very important when you’re building a Team, because their success, becomes your future. And although creating a Fast Start Story is never easy – it’s always worth it, because not only will it give you a powerful sense of accomplishment, but it could pay you for a lifetime – kind of like the way mine pays me :) Anyway, so back to my story; So, every one of these guys I met after I started my first online business, said the exact same thing. They all told me that I needed three things to be successful online; a Lead Capture Page, an Autoresponder, and a Blog, which I began using right away, and still do today.

And they emphasized that I should “choose one marketing strategy and master it”. And that is the basis for Home Business Marketing Strategy 106, which is about becoming a Jack of All Trades vs. a Master of One. Because from their experience, and now mine, people who attempt to get good at a lot of different skills, wind up being good in all of them. However, if you know anything about human performance, good is the enemy of great.

Being good at something is not good enough anymore. To really stand out, you want to become great at what you do. This is what the market calls for these days and what allows you to really stand out from the crowd. If you’ll notice, people who are good at a lot of things – have a very scattered focus. Imagine trying to burn a hole in a leaf with a magnifying glass, but continually moving your hand. The focus of the suns ray will never be strong enough to burn a hole in the leaf. When you hold steady, and focus all that effort into one place, or thing, the results can be tremendous. It’s like the difference between a shot gun and a rifle. A shot gun sprays tiny little metal pellets, called shot. But the further the distance the shot travels from the gun, the less of an impact it has. A rifle shoots only one bullet, but whatever it hits, it destroys. So, after I got started in my first online business, the first major decision I had to make was about choosing a marketing strategy, or should I say, a skill, and commit to doing it every day so that I could always rely on it, no matter what. Now, just in case you didn’t know, when I first got started online, I had a partner who was very interested in learning paid advertising for our business. While I focused on free & low cost marketing, like Blogging, Email Marketing and Social Media, she was driving traffic to our Lead Capture Pages through Pay Per Click Advertising. Every time someone opted in to one of our pages from an ad she ran, they were exposed to a Bridge Page, and then a Video Sales Letter. If they didn’t buy on their first exposure, they would receive my automated Email Follow Ups which continued to keep in touch with them, sharing links to various pages in my marketing funnel, social media pages, video channels, my blog, and much more. Of course, these messages continued until a lead or prospect purchased, or they unsubscribed.

Needless to say, the way I ran the business was simple. She drove traffic, and I converted people looking at what we were doing, into customers, members, teammates, and clients. Now while driving traffic is a key component of any successful online business, my focus was on the free & low cost strategies, which all centered around the one skill that I chose to master. And this skill is copywriting. You see, copywriting is nothing more than words that sell. And you can either sell the open, the click, and of course, the end products or services that generate revenue for your business. Over the years, copywriting became my passion.

It became my source of inspiration. And it became the #1 Skill that took me to creating millions of dollars in commissions. Because it allowed me to effectively communicate with my audience. By doing all that I mentioned above: Blogging, Email Marketing and Social Media. I’ve used it to write sales messages, video presentations, and LIVE presentations on stage in front of thousands of people. But enough about me – this is about you. Now of course, whatever marketing strategy you choose, the key is to do a lot of it. It’s like going to a buffet at a great restaurant. You might taste a bunch of different things, but once you find that one thing you really like, you go to town on it. You’ll probably fill your belly with more of that one thing than all the other items combined.

It’s no different in your approach to marketing. The key is to learn a little about a lot of different things at first, and then once you discover what your true marketing passion is, you’ll want to start outsourcing those things that you have no real passion for, or that you just don’t have any interest in learning. Now, you do want to know a little bit about every area of your business, so that if you do outsource, you can watch and even model whomever you outsource to. This is called taking full ownership of your business, and working “on” your business instead of only “in” your business. It’s also called working smart, and not only hard. So while it’s critical that you don’t strive to become a Jack of All Trades, you do want a well rounded Internet Marketing Education while you become a Master of One. I think it was Bruce Lee who said, “I fear not the man who practices 10,000 kicks, but the man who practices one kick, 10,000 times.” Of course, you do want to have other skills in your arsenal, so that you know how to use your Lead Capture Pages, your Autoresponder & your Blog. You’ll want to learn to drive traffic using paid advertising, free & low cost marketing combining Social Media with a Blog, create & publish videos, and so much more. But again, Home Business Marketing Strategy 106 is not to strive for being a Jack of All Trades – but a Master of One. So, even with all the Information out there about how to succeed in Online Business – the KEY is to realize that you don’t have to Master them all – just pick an area that you feel is most important to your success, and commit to doing it daily. Now of course if you are still looking to learn these skills, not just what they are, but how to use them in a practical way, meaning that you are able to start implementing what you learn right away, and want to see an online marketing system that’s helping thousands of people around the World make life changing
