FIRE STATIONS

PROJECT EXPERIENCE Punta Gorda Fire Station Punta Gorda, FL The Punta Gorda Fire Station was built as part of a public safety complex. Parts of facility remained in operation during the construction. The complex is nearly 20,000 SF and serves as Fire Station Headquarters, Fire Station and Dispatch/911 Call Center and Police Sub-station. Divided into four separate zones each is accessible from a common entry lobby. The fire station headquarters and fire station have apparatus bays, day room, kitchen, locker and bunk rooms, as well as the city’s fire administration offices. A separate building houses an exercise room, impound, wash bay, and an emergency generator that can power the facility in the event of an outage. The stucco veneer, arched windows, Spanish tile roof and the façade resemble the Mission Revival Style, which was influenced by the city’s downtown revitalization planning guidelines. Vista Del Lago Fire Station West Boca Raton, FL Vista Del Lago is the most recent evolution of the original Palm Beach County Prototype Station. Current trends demand that Fire / Rescue facilities be designed to blend into the residential neighborhoods that are adjacent to the site. Features include 3-bay apparatus room, Battalion Headquarters, Commercial Kitchen, Outdoor Patio, Fully sprinklered fire protection system, decontamination facilities, complete emergency generator system, 8 bed dormitory, above ground Fuel Storage and Dispensing, and Hurricane Impact resistant openings. Martin County Fire Station #22 Stuart, FL This Design/Build modular renovation/addition project consisted of the addition living quarters and site upgrades for Tropical Farms Fire Station #22 located at 8446 SW Tropical Avenue, Stuart. The living quarter addition included six individual “dorm” type rooms each with its own desk, bed, and lockable gear storage closets. Venice Fire Station #3 Venice, FL A 16,500SF fire station for the City of Venice received acclaim from the City and Community for authenticity of the design. The station is a two story, CMU, non-combustible, and fully sprinkled building designed and constructed to withstand Category 4 hurricane winds. Designed with and emergency generator to power the entire facility for up to 72 hours with an additional 10,000 gallon capacity for refueling emergency vehicles in the event of natural disaster EMS Master Plan Sarasota County, FL Ten-year Master Plan for fire and emergency medical response facilities

Fire Station #4 Sarasota County, FL Sarasota County Prototype Fire Station #4, Sarasota, FL Project Principal for the programming design and construction of the new 8,200SF, 3 bay, fire/rescue replacement station located in north Sarasota County. Scope of services included the demolition of the existing fire station, design of the new prototype station, site planning, space planning, preparation of construction documents, public meetings and presentations, project scheduling and construction administration services to project completion. Fire Station #10 Sarasota County, FL The re-use of the adaptive prototype Fire Station #4. This project is slated to be a Silver LEED® Certified project and is designed to withstand a Category 4 hurricane. All fire stations also have full emergency power back-up for 72 hours operation following a power failure. Fire Station #15 Sarasota County, FL An 8,200SF prototype station that includes an Administrative wing as well as the areas in the smaller prototype. It will also be a Silver LEED® Certified building and is designed to sustain in excess of a Category 5 hurricane. Fire Station #16 Sarasota County, FL The adaptive reuse of the prototype Fire Station #10. The 13,500SF facility includes an Administrative wing and will also be a Silver LEED® Certified building designed to sustain in excess of a Category 5 hurricane. Prototype Fire Station #31, #72, & #74 Palm Beach County, FL Harvard Jolly has designed Palm Beach County Fire Rescue’s first green fire station to replace Fire Station #31 on Lake Worth Road. The station is 5,600 square feet with a two bay (three truck) eight person station. The station has full fueling capability and a backup generator system. It was programmed to achieve a LEED NC 2.2 certification level and the sustainable features include energy efficient HVAC, reduced heat island effect, reduced water use for irrigation and building, daylighting, tankless water heaters, recycled construction debris and low VOC finishes. Expansion to Fire Stations #42 & 48 Palm Beach County, FL Remodeling of approximately 7,100 square feet at Fire Station #42. Addition of an approximately 950 square feet standalone Chief’s Quarters facility at Fire Station #48



ADDITIONAL GOVERNMENTAL WORK PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Pinellas County Public EOC Largo, FL This $81.5 million 270,000 SF project includes four new buildings and one renovated building on the 40 acre site which houses the county’s new emergency operations center, is seeking LEED accreditation. Collier County EOC Naples, FL The $56M, four-story facility is hurricane hardened. The 139,000 SF building houses all County Emergency Service Departments. Palm Beach Gardens EOCC Palm Beach Gardens, FL The $3.5M Municipal Complex Emergency Operations and Communications Center houses state-of- the-art information technology equipment and will be both designed and constructed up to DOESTD- 1020, wind Performance Category PC-4, and FEMA 361 standards. City of St. Petersburg EOC St. Petersburg, FL The Harvard Jolly/AECOM team is currently designing the City of St. Petersburg’s new Police Headquarters. The design will meet the needs of a 21st century law enforcement facility, which will combine a functional work environment with modern technology to better serve the community. City of Melbourne Police Department Melbourne, FL The City Council conducted a workshop to discuss the current condition of the police buildings and future facility options. By consensus, the City Council indicated a desire for a new police facility and selected Harvard Jolly to complete the Space Needs Analysis and full design. Charlotte County EOC Fort Myers, FL The new 31,000 SF Public Safety Complex includes fire and EMS, EOC/911/211, sheriff’s administration, and ancillary support and office spaces. Project also included all site work, off-site infrastructure, design and erection of a building to withstand major hurricane force winds and storm surge, and all necessary equipment and fixtures. City of Punta Gorda Police/Fire Station/EOC Punta Gorda, FL The City of Punta Gorda commissioned Harvard Jolly to design a new 19,500 SF public safety complex consisting of both police and fire headquarters. Cost: $2.5M.

Treasure Island Municipal Facilities Space Needs Study Treasure Island, FL This project develops alternatives for possible replacement, or re-purposing of the city hall, police department, fire department, public works facilities, and community center. Sarasota County Sheriff’s Public Safety Facility Sarasota County, FL Harvard Jolly was awarded a Continuing Architectural Services Contract in 2014 for various miscellaneous projects for the Sarasota County Government. The work we were tasked with on this project included a site study and subsequent planning for expansion of courtrooms at the RL Anderson Administrative Center in Venice in 2015. Gainesville Police Department Headquarters Gainesville, FL The $10.8 M design/build project include the demolition of the circa 1952 headquarters building and the construction of a two story, 41,000 SF building. An existing 8,800 SF warehouse was renovated into a physical training facility. The project was completed in January 2014 City of Clearwater, Police Firing Range Clearwater, FL Through the current continuing services contract, Harvard Jolly performed architectural services for renovation of the existing Clearwater Police Firing Range. The $1.7 M project started with a conceptual plan. The team recommended constructing a new sixteen lane, one hundred yard open air, partial baffled firing range. The bullet containment / targeting system will be retrofitted saving money on a new system. City of Zephyrhills - City Hall Study and Master Plan Zephyrhills, FL Project Executive of team. Provided original study which assess need for more space. Developed program based on departmental relationships. Pinellas County BOCC - Clerk of Courts - Space Planning Pinellas County, FL The $81.4 million, approximately 270,000 SF facility sits on a 40 acre site and includes: emergency operations center, and 911 call center, emergency medical service, sheriff’s administrative/operational headquarters, and vehicle maintenance.
