Select a child to carry the basket and walk or skip around the outside of the circle while the other children sing the song, “A Tisket, A Tasket” (lyrics are available on the internet) . 3. At the conclusion of the song, the child carrying the basket removes an item and places it beside a child in the circle . The seated child identifies the object, moves it to the centre of the circle, and then states a rhyming word for it . Real and nonsense words are acceptable . For example, if the object is a pen, the child may offer hen, ten, or Ben, or nonsense words such as fen, len, or sen . The first child sits down in the circle and passes the basket to the new child, who then repeats the process . 4. Continue the game as long as it holds children’s interest .
