Message From Your LTG Hi everyone! I’m so excited about school starting soon because that means I have the chance to finally meet so many of you and your club members. I have a few updates the share with you all about a few things going on in and out of our division. Email or text me any questions you have and I’ll get back to you right away!

District Questions How do I know how much food (in pounds), hours committed, and money we've collected for District Project each month? Who do I contact for information? Is there a database or website I can refer to? For your own individual club you should have your secretary or a designated club member keeping track of the pounds of food, money, and hours you are collecting for the district project. When you enter it on the CMRF it should be how much money and food you collected that month, not how much you have all year. I have access to a database with your clubs numbers but they are based off of

what you tell me in your CMRF so you need to keep track of your drives and collections. If you want to know how much money or food you’ve collected in total or in any previous months just let me know (Our divisional total is 212 lbs., $173, and 49.25 hours so far by the way)

Make sure you guys are asking me any questions if you have them so I can help you however I can!

DCM Remember, our next DCM will be on September 2nd at 3:00 pm at Panera Bread in Sparta. If you have read this far text me your favorite sandwich! (my phone number is on the last page of this newsletter if you don’t have it) We will be having a food drive for our district project, Hunger in New Jersey, so make sure you bring what food you can to support! If you have not filled out the form telling me if you are coming or not you must do this ASAP. I can’t wait to see you all there!

RTCs Regional Training Conferences are held in both the spring and fall so that all Key Club Officers have a chance to attend them. Thank you to everyone who has already attended, to those who could not, don’t worry! Fall RTCs are right around the corner! These conferences provide work-

shops to help you become an effective leader. You also need to attend at least one RTC to be a distinguished officer. These are the dates and location of fall RTCs: Sunday, Sept. 17th @ Montville High School Saturday, Sept. 16th @ Millville High School

Sunday, Sept. 24th @ Arthur L. Johnson High School

Youth Opportunities Fund The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an opportunity to take action and establish great change throughout our communities. Applicants can request anywhere from $100-$2,000 and must include a detailed description of the service project and explain it’s purpose, budget, timeline and impact on the community in their application. The due date is October 15, 2017 at 11:59 P.M. Applications must be submitted through Reviewr through keyclub.org/yof and are reviewed by members of the Key Club International YOF committee at their November meeting. Grant notification will be emailed to all grant applicants the second week of January. It was also announced that $77,000 will be given out this year. In 2017, 87/200 clubs were funded and a total of $71,651.57 was rewarded. Examples of some of their incredible service projects include planting gardens and building libraries. Everyone is encouraged to consider submitting an application and helping make a difference! Apply for a grant here! http://www.keyclub.org/service/fund/yof.aspx

Key Leader Key Leader is a Kiwanis sponsored program that teaches leadership skills to students in grades 9-12 and is open to both key clubbers and non-key clubbers alike. This weekend retreat is a great chance to meet everyone from all over the district, learn what it means to be a servant leader and participate in team building activities all while having fun! This year, Key Leader will be held at Baptist Camp Lebanon in Lebanon, NJ from December 1st to 3rd. This also happens to be on my birthday and I cannot think of any better way to celebrate than to be with my fellow Key Clubbers! The weekend will cost $215 which includes all expenses and Key

Clubbers can receive a discount on this price for early registration. Those who have attended in the past can apply to be student facilitators, and will receive a further discount, as well as the privilege of leading their peers. Registration is open at Key-Leader.org and be sure to select Baptist Camp Lebanon. We encourage everyone to consider attending this beautifully orchestrated event. We hope to see you in December!
