Message From Your LTG Hi everyone! I hope school is going great for all of you! Although many of you may have lost out on Fall Rally due to the weather, we have another event coming up. Key Leader! I have a page in here about it so make sure you check it out so we can have at least one representative from each school attend!

District Questions If there are tensions between Key Club officers, how can we overcome them to work better as a group? The most important part of Key Club is that while we are helping ourselves, we are helping others and putting them first. All officers have the same goal and while these tensions may arise between them it is important to remember what they should be working towards. I believe the best thing you can do is remind them of this and that if there is an issue outside of Key Club between them, they must leave it there so that you can work towards your goals and make Key Club an enjoyable and memorable experience for all those involved.

How do we fundraise and prepare our club for DCON? First get your club to know about DCON. Tell your members about the amazing weekend they can look forward to and all that they can learn about Key Club during this time! Then fundraise in any way you can. Bake sales, sports tournaments, yard sales, the opportunities are endless! Check out the DCON webpage for updates as we release flyers and our promotional video in the next few weeks! http://njkeyclub.org/dcon/

Make sure you guys are asking me any questions if you have them so I can help you however I can!

Key Leader Key Leader is a Kiwanis sponsored program that teaches leadership skills to students in grades 9-12 and is open to both key clubbers and non-key clubbers alike. This weekend retreat is a great chance to meet everyone from all over the district, learn what it means to be a servant leader and participate in team building activities all while having fun! This year, Key Leader will be held at Baptist Camp Lebanon in Lebanon, NJ from December 1st to 3rd. The weekend will cost $215 which includes all expenses and Key Clubbers can receive a discount on this price for early registration. Those who have attended in the past can apply to be student facili-

tators, and will receive a further discount, as well as the privilege of leading their peers. Registration is open at Key-Leader.org and be sure to select Baptist Camp Lebanon. We encourage everyone to consider attending this beautifully orchestrated event. We hope to see you in December!

HALO Movement Key Club International has partnered with Nickelodeon for the HALO movement! HALO (helping and leading others) is an organization that inspires kids to take action. This is a great chance to do more service and get more involved. If your club wants to do a service project but are not in a position to fully fund it, your club can apply for the opportunity to receive a HALO grant funding for your service project online at Key Club's Facebook page. Applications are now available as of September 1, 2017 and are due by November 30, 2017. Grant recipients with extraordinary service projects get an opportunity to be featured on TV! So join the movement and use the hashtags #WeHALO and #KeyClub on social media. A second funding cycle will open next year from February 1, 2018 to May 1, 2018 as well. For more information, check out WeHalo.com! If you’ve read up to here please text me your favorite animal!

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Raise some funds and have fun this Halloween by participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. It’s a great opportunity to collect donations instead of candy or to bring club members together for a fabulous event. All money collected by Kiwanis-family members through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will support The Eliminate Project and help save moms and babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus. So how can you take part in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF? Well, the process is easy! You can participate in five simple steps: 1. Decide with your club what kind of fundraiser you’ll do. 2. Order your collection boxes. 3. Collect donations. 4. Fill out the gift form and submit it with your club’s donations. 5. Celebrate! You’re helping save moms and babies. Once you’ve collected all of your donations, send a check or money order (made payable to the Kiwanis Children's Fund) and your completed gift form to: The Eliminate Project: Campaign Office Kiwanis Children's Fund P.O. Box 6457 - Dept #286 Indianapolis, IN 46206 USA ATTN: Trick-or-Treat A proud participant in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF since 1994, Key Club has raised more than 7 million dollars for child survival and development programs around the world — from efforts to eliminate iodine deficiency disorder to HIV/AIDS initiatives in Kenya and Swa-
