Who We Are Action Care is a Hong Kong registered charitable organization (File No. 91/9677) established in 2008. Our goal is to serve our community through acts of love and mercy. We perform more than charity work. Mercy is a quality of life, an attitude resulting from our love inside, which makes people feel loved and accept ed. Our community is served regardless of their race, nationality or religion. We serve the homeless, scavengers, new immigrants, elderly, single parents and low-income families in the Eastern Dis trict of Hong Kong Island. We serve the needy through aligning different organizations with appropriate resource allocation, and by outreach programs to meet their needs.

I have always been devoted to social welfare work for the elderly. When I reviewed the ministries of Action Care in the past year, I was amazed that it was not as simple as it seems. It covered a wide range of service targets, includ ing young children, school children, women, the elderly, single-parent families, grassroots families, marginalized people, the homeless, and other groups. To serve such diverse groups, our co-workers must have worked hard. I deeply feel that the co-workers are fully committed to making Action Care a lampstand for the community. At the same time, the co-workers’ work has inspired the congregation of the church and other people in the community to walk side by side and serve the community. Action Care has made good use of community resources and promoted more people to live out love. May this love never cease.
4 士。透過善心人的支持和同行，我們希望可以用行動祝福和鼓勵他們。關愛動員在新冠肺炎疫情反反覆覆下，仍然堅守以人為本的服務，不斷將物資和關心送到社區有需要的人陳小荃總幹事 2021 年，我們無間斷地支援獨居 長者、無家者、抬荒者、清潔工、基層及弱勢群體超過 31566 愛。型工作坊或親子活動，務求動員有心義工，以正能量散發出愛和關懷去祝福他們，希望他們感受到人間有人次。同時我們把握疫情緩和期間，舉辦小 2022 亦是推動更多人活出愛。但願這樣的愛不會止息。社區的燈台。同時同工們的身體力行激勵教會會眾和社區的有心人並肩而行，服務人群，是善用社區資源，等群體，要服侍如此不同的群體需要，必須花盡心力。我深深感受到同工們全然委身，致力令關愛動員成為實在很廣泛，包括幼兒、學童、婦女、長者等年齡層，也包括單親家庭、基層家庭、被邊緣化人士、露宿者自己本身也投身長者社福工作，當我回顧關愛動員過去一年的事工時，驚歎殊不簡單，覆蓋的服務對象層面馬學俊先生（義務顧問）年將會是更具挑戰的一年，我們團隊秉持關愛動員使命及信念，繼續為社區帶來新的盼望。前言 Foreword
Jessica Chan, Chief Executive Despite the recurrent outbreaks of the coronavirus, we still adhere to people-oriented services and continue to de liver supplies and care to those in need in the community. Through the support of kind-hearted people, we hope to bless and encourage those in need with actions. In 2021, we maintained our support for elderly people who live alone, the homeless, scavengers, cleaners, grassroots and vulnerable groups through more than 31,566 actions. At the same time, we seized the time when the epidemic eased and held small workshops as well as parent-child ac tivities. We also gathered volunteers from time to time, so that we can radiate love and care with positive energy to bless people, hoping that they will feel loved and cared for. 2022 will be a more challenging year. With our mission and belief, our team will continue to bring hope to the community.

Especially in the light of our church’s 2021 theme, “Entering the Neighborhood, Living by Faith”, we seek to live up to our Christian faith not by chanting slogans, but in our daily walks with the neighbors. I am so grateful to have the partnership of Action Care (AC) as we joined forces to launch various programs to respond to the needs of our neighbors. Although the situations were tough, we sought for wisdom and strength from the Almighty God. For all the things we did, we did as a reflection of God’s love. “Walk the talk” is our ethos, which aims at manifesting a genuine Christian faith. Last but not the least, let’s pray for courage and stamina from His word so we could claim victory over the hardships we have been facing, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Cor. 4:8-9) May you find peace and joy in the presence of the Lord.
2021 渡過眼前的危難？」筲箕灣浸信會波的疫情？而作為一間屹立在社區中的教會，筲箕灣浸信會該如何與街坊鄰里同行，給與鼓勵和幫助，一起所未有的。我常常反思：「作為一位牧師，我如何幫助信徒在基督信仰中得著方向和力量，好面對一波又一年無疑是充滿困難與挑戰的一年，新冠疫情反覆持續，造成生活和經濟上的衝擊是前 2021 望；遭逼迫，卻不被丟棄；打倒了，卻不致死亡。」（林後我們一定可以走出疫情的陰霾，讓我們緊握神的應許：「我們四面受敵，卻不被困住；心裏作難，卻不致失中仍努力推動各項活動，上下一心，活出真實的基督信仰。最後，我鼓勵各位不要灰心，要緊靠上帝帶領，這一年，非常感恩的是我們有「關愛動員」與我們一起同工，在街坊鄰里中伸出主耶穌的愛心之手，在逆境一個不溫不火的口號而已——教會不但坐落在社區裏，更要進入人群；不但宣講福音，更要活出福音。回顧年的主題是「進入社區·活出福音」，怎樣說也不該讓這個主題淪為

While it is easy to conclude that the year of 2021 was full of adversities and challenges, as a pastor I always ask myself, “How am I supposed to help my flock to gain strength and direction in such a pandemic through the lens of faith?

During the epidemic, Grace House never stopped providing services through the Action Care Food bank and Fai Gor Organic Vegetables service. In the past year, the number of families that needed food kept increasing. We were grateful to many benevolent people for donating food, anti-epidemic supplies and other resources, and distributed them to low-income families through Grace House, which greatly reduces their daily food expenses. With the care and encourage ment of the team, their “body and mind” has been satisfied. It has been a difficult year. Society needs positive energy. 7 菜不多，家庭成員也是笑容滿面地迎接。新鮮的蔬菜時，都令同工非常感動。就算有時蔬食物更是得來不易，家庭每次懷著感恩的心接受哥有機蔬果」一直深受家庭歡迎。疫情下新鮮的每週兩次在農場新鮮採摘，直送到恩典屋的「輝 “Fai Gor Organic Vegetables” provides vegetables freshly picked from the farm and delivered to Grace House twice a week. It has always been popular among families. Fresh food has become harder to obtain during the epidemic. When families received fresh vegetables with gratitude, the co-workers were happy too. In 2021, it was grateful that we received funding from The Hong Kong Club Foundation Limited which supported the proj ect – “My Dream Living”. Besides, we continued providing “Blessed Lunch Gathering” regularly and invited the elderly to join the “Joyful Moment”. We had a wonderful time every Tuesday and Friday. 10 「理想 ‧ 你想生活」計劃獲得 The Hong Kong Club Foundation Limited 起建立愛的社群。長者到戶外旅遊，舒展身心。我們會努力繼續一息、作關懷探訪工作。疫情下，我們更於11月帶等，減少患病機會，並定期向長者發放關懷訊者及照顧者的身體狀況、生活質素、心靈健康等)，以推廣健康生活的資訊，於疫情下改善長同主題的工作坊(運動、中醫、食療、正向心理貧窮或其他需要）。透過為長者和照顧者舉辦不主要服侍東區區內弱勢長者（包括獨居、患病、為期一年的資助。計劃
The project mainly aims to serve the disadvantaged elders from the Eastern District (including those who are living alone, with illness, the poor or peo ple with other needs). We want to promote healthy living by organizing workshops on different themes (exercise, traditional Chinese medicine, diet thera py, mental health, etc.) for the elderly and caregiv ers. We hope to improve the physical condition, quality of life, spiritual health, etc. of the elderly and their caretakers during the epidemic. We also hope to reduce the chance of illness in the elderly. We send care and messages and home visits to the elderly regularly. During the epidemic, we even or ganized a day tour in November to help them relax physically and mentally. We will keep working hard to build a community full of love together.

12 位街坊放下心頭大石。紙皮女士的媽媽因病過世。因經濟的問題，未有能力處理殯葬事宜，外展同工也為她們安排簡單的葬禮，讓這員的外展隊仍然顧念無家者的需要，把熱飯盒及物資送到受眾的手中，希望帶給他們點點溫暖。早前有位執拾疫情下，對於一群無家者，他們的生活確實不易。當大部份的派飯活動因著疫情而取消、暫停的時候，關愛動 Under the epidemic, life for homeless people is indeed not easy. While most of the meal distribution activities were canceled or suspended due to the epidemic, the outreach team of Action Care still cared about the needs of the homeless and delivered hot lunch boxes and supplies to them, hoping to bring them a little warmth. Once, the mother of a lady who was a paper picker passed away because of acute illness. During the epidemic, online classes have become normal. Even kindergarten students need to use devices to watch videos. How ever, school children’s learning progress is falling behind. There is also increased tension between family members because children are using smartphones and playing computer games for too long. These problems have become more common this year. Despite the epidemic, Action Care did not stop providing services on phone tutoring because we hope that when the epidemic has eased, the students can adapt to the tutoring sessions as soon as possible. To increase the interest of the school children in learning, a fun English class was held to teach daily English in a novel way this year. We also held an English calligraphy class, in which English words were written in artistic fonts, which was very beautiful. We are eager to organize more new elements to support the development and in terpersonal relationships of students.

14 英文班及興趣班 English and other classes 對英語產生興趣。語作日常溝通，增加小朋友以英語對答的自信，從而過程中不但學習到新的生詞，更重要是學懂如何以英以生動有趣的活動及遊戲讓小朋友投入英語學習。在 We encourage children to learn English through funny activities and games. Not only will they learn vocabu lary in the class, but also how to use English for daily communication. This also helps to increase children’s confidence in speaking English and also their interest in learning English.
15 暑期活動 6 - 8月 Summer Classes (June to August) 應用班及英文書法體驗班，青少年們都感到新奇有趣。自己的喜好參加不同暑期活動，當中更首次舉辦平板電腦知的領域，真的令我們感到鼓舞。小朋友及青少年都按着和義工的支持。在今年的暑期班中，看見學生努力挑戰未行」、「小廚神班」也能順利完成，實在有賴家長的信任今年暑假期間疫情稍為緩和，所有暑期班，如「眼晴想旅
大哥哥大姐姐 9、10、12月 Big Brother Big Sister (September, October, December) 助孩子學習解難和面對挑戰，希望與孩子同行，鼓勵他們，給他們多一份支持!一班義工定期關顧一些基層或單親家庭的小朋友，充當他們的生命教練，透過定向活動、小組分享經驗，幫 Our volunteers regularly visit children from grassroots or single-parent families and act as their life coaches. Through directional activities and group sharing sessions, they help children to learn how to solve problems and face chal lenges. They hope to walk with these children, encourage them, and give them more support.
The epidemic eased this summer. Therefore, all of our summer classes, including Eyes Traveling, and Little Cook were able to be held and completed. Thanks to parents and volunteers for their trust and support. In the summer classes of this year, the students tried their best in different areas and we were en couraged and inspired by them. In our summer program, chil dren and teenagers participated in different summer activities according to their preferences. This summer, we also held an iPad application class as well as an English calligraphy class for the first time. The teenagers were excited.
16 家庭關懷服務 Family Care Services 交圈子。要。此外，更舉辦婦女減壓工作坊，以提供更到位的服務，協助她們於照顧家庭以外，建立自己的興趣及社令一眾家庭也措手不及。因此今年我們更針對家庭的需要，採取單對單的形式，深入了解每戶家庭個別的需家庭在面對長期疫情下，深感無論家長還是小朋友都面對極大的壓力。停課、網課、復課…全年重覆出現， Due to the prolonged epidemic outbreaks, parents and children are under a lot of pressure. Suspension of classes, online classes, and resumption of classes... repeated throughout the year, catching many families by surprise. There fore, this year, we focused more on the needs of families. We take a one-on-one approach to gain an in-depth under standing of the needs of each family. “Truly I Love You” Mother’s Day Music Concert hopes to honor mothers and make them feel loved and blessed. The concert was hosted by Shaukiwan Baptist Church and was co-organized by Action Care. At that time, the epidemic had not yet been controlled. The number of people in the church venue was limited. Under this cir cumstance, Action Care could only invite 30 families to participate. Together with other churchmates and their families, we had around 150 participants. The atmo sphere was great that night, everyone was dancing and singing to release the tension brought by the epidemic through music. Two mothers were invited to come on the stage to share their meticulous love and dedication to their children. When one of the daughters said to her mother on stage: “Thank you, Mommy. I love you!” The audience immediately applauded and moved to tears. For many families, happiness is not inevitable. Due to all kinds of hardships in life, many mothers have forgot ten when their bright smiles disappeared. This party has become an encouragement for these mothers.
17 只能邀請仍未受控，教會場內人數有所限制下，今次關愛動員箕灣浸信會主辦，關愛動員協辦這次晚會，在疫情群偉大的母親，讓她們感到被愛和祝福。音樂會由筲「真的愛妳」母親節音樂晚會，顧名思義希望尊榮一 30 人，參與人數達戶家庭參與，連同教會其他弟兄姊妹家 150 一次成為這群母親的鼓勵。已經忘記她們燦爛的笑容從何時消失，今次的晚會再庭，幸福並非必然，因著種種生活的困迫，很多母親愛妳!」，全場即時鼓掌和感動落淚。對於很多家當其中一位女兒在台上對媽媽說:「媽咪多謝妳，我兩位母親上台分享她們對孩子無微不至的愛和付出，唱，將過去疫情帶來的緊張氣氛一一釋放，更邀請了人。當晚氣氛高昂，大家又跳又 5 月 MAY 「真的愛妳」音樂晚會 “Truly I Love You” Music Concert
This was the first time that we cooperated with Henri etta Secondary School to provide free hairstyling ser vices for the community. We hope that the neighbors can have a new image and start in 2022. Our hairstyl ists were attentive when providing hairstyling services. There were all good comments regarding our hairstyl ing services.

20 義工培訓 Volunteer Training 同福堂 / 筲箕灣浸信會 (探訪義工培訓) EFCC Tung Fook Church / SKWBC (Volunteer Training) 別人關心的感受，一群弟兄姊妹對今次關愛動員的培訓內容十分滿意，願神繼續為更多人加力。項，為了更讓弟兄姊妹了解街坊心路歷程，我們更邀請一位街坊陪同出席同福堂的分享會，讓她分享當中被希望以愛與他們同行，感恩7月份被邀請與兩堂會合共數百位弟兄姊妹分享在關愛動員的實戰經驗和注意事福音與社會關懷是教會一個很重要的議題，教會過去不斷鼓勵會眾多參與憐憫服務，鼓勵關心弱勢社群，更 Gospel and social care are very important topics for the church. The two churches have always been encouraging church members to participate in serving the community. They also encouraged members to care for the disadvan taged and walk with them with love. We were grateful to be invited to share our experience with the congregation of the two churches in July. We hoped that churchmates could understand the feelings and experiences of our neighbors, so we invited a neighbor to go with us and share at Tung Fook Church, and let her share her feelings about being cared for by others. Most of the churchmates were very satisfied with the training content provided by Action Care. May the Lord continue to bless more people.
21 行探訪活動。心人參與外，也為北角懷恩浸信教會訓練義工，並進工獎勵計劃。今年進行了兩次訓練，除了公開招募有為更有效服侍一班弱勢長者，我們舉辦了關愛同行義 To serve a group of disadvantaged older people more ef fectively, we have organized the “Walking Together-Vol unteer Award Scheme”. This year, we have conducted many trainings. Besides recruiting volunteers to partic ipate, we have also provided training for volunteers for Hong Kong Grace Baptist Church and conducted various home visit activities. 四學生體驗。今年為配合高中課程「其他學習經歷」的要求，以增加中 11 四學生提供予中四學生。由於疫情不斷轉差，最後我們只能向中校學生分享服務實戰經驗，並提供培訓及服務平台給月，我們有機會到顯理中學與全 1次培訓及公民教育組 1 對於這次同學和我們的交流，我們覺得十分寶貴。次小型探訪出隊， In order to achieve the learning objectives of Other Learn ing Experience (OLE) , we provided volunteer training to F.4 students this year. In November, we had the opportu nity to step into the school and share service experiences with students and provide a training and service platform for F.4 students. Due to the epidemic, we could only hold one training session for F.4 students and one outreach experience for the civic education group.
