from your Pastor
DR. ED M. LAURENA
“To God be the glory!!!” Those words are surely not enough to express our thanksgiving and praises to God Who gave us great victory in our 35th Church Anniversary preparations and during our grand emerald Church Anniversary celebration. However, “To God be the glory!!!” is our joyous declaration of our grateful exaltation of the Lord for the wonderful things He has done to enable us achieve our goal to win souls for His glory, and to lift up our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, our Almighty God deserves our spiritedly jubilant worship, with these words: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power!” (Revelation 4:11). We thank God that He has taught us and allowed us to use our Anniversary for the salvation of the lost, for the proclamation of His Gospel, for the magnification of His name, for the revival of His people, and for the involvement of members through their involvement in all church activities. All of these pursuits – campus evangelism, moral recovery programs, area soulwinning, visitation along with tract distribution, round-the-clock prayer vigil, Lord’s Supper commemoration, revival meeting, motorcade, visitor-ferrying and feeding, and church worship, are believed to have helped us become triumphant. As your Pastor, I am so blessed to see you supporting the work of God. Let us continually please the Lord in making disciples while learning valuable lessons about “Dedication in Fulfilling the Great Commission” from our Sunday School this March. Together, we must all give our share and do our best to have a part in the accomplishment of the Great Commission by His grace, through His power, and for His honor.

N LUKE 24, we find a wonderful example of Christ's witnessing manner and method after His resurrection. Let us glean and learn from these 15 tips to be effective in our soulwinning and discipling efforts.
patience in dealing with the two men in the Road to Emmaus.
1. Draw near, and reach out to people (v.15). Christ was not aloof, He went to where people gathered.
9. Offer the Biblical solution to their problem of eternal destination in Hell (v. 27). 10. Be prepared to have an answer (2 Timothy 4:2).
2. Measure your approach (v.16). Be prudent as to when in the conversation you will make your purpose known.
7. Be complete in the presentation of the Gospel and assurance of salvation. 8. Be direct and brief.
11. Make it personal by testifying how you were saved and changed.
3. Listen to them (v.17). Be attentive to their needs and reasons so you know how to properly present the Gospel to them.
12. Gauge continued interest. Monitor if the message is getting across the person and assess his/her response (v. 29-32).
4. Explore their hearts. Communication is always a two-way process. Ask open-ended questions.
13. Give the glory to God.
5. Be aware of everything (v. 18-24). Ask the Holy Spirit of God to give you discernment. 6. Be patient, it is a virtue (v. 25). The Lord Jesus showed
14. Leave their focus on the Scripture and not on your personality (v. 33-35). 15. Make disciples. True witnesses will lead and inspire those who have learned the truth to share it with the same boldness and clarity.

deserves our best. Through our NEHEMIAH PROJECT FOR GOD'S GLORY, we can give our best. Let us continually fulfill our commitment by His
grace.
Aside from our commitments, let us drop some coins in our Sunday School class basket, as an extra investment for this project.
MRP REACHED VARIOUS CAMPUSES "To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." -1 Corinthians 9:22 A minister, as he is surrendered for a cause, experiences great joy in teaching and preaching the Word of God up to the point of losing his voice. Indeed, the spirit of every worker who joined the Classroom Evangelism for the past month has conquered physical fainting, when at the culmination of our 35th Church Anniversary last Sunday, many students came to church and got saved! The Moral Recovery Program (MRP) of our church has extended its ministering arm to four campuses in nearby cities. The respective Area Leaders took commendable initiative to seek approval from the School Administration. Consequently, the Principal’s endorsement led our preachers and teachers to classrooms for the purpose of illustrating the most important lesson every individual must learn and accept. In Biñan Secondary School of Applied Academics (also known as APEX), forty-eight classrooms were saturated. From which were over 1,700 souls saved and 200 first time visitors obtained. On the other side of the city is St. Francis National High School from where the workers brought more student visitors. Meanwhile, from Mamplasan National High School were 65 FTVs which manifested the grace of God to the five area workers. Also, from Sta. Rosa, Laguna where Southville National High School is located, over 500 souls were brought to the knowledge of Christ. Praise the Lord for many other members who have extended their best efforts for the fulfillment of the Church anniversary goal. And as we continue to live by this year’s thrust in “Making Disciples,” it would not be enough just to win them. It should be a congregational effort that we pray and actually teach them for their growth as newborn creatures. To God be the glory!

Ministry in AGE 2 CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL When you think that Sunday School teaching is boring, well then, think again! Try to visit the Age 2 class which is accommodated at the ground floor of the Old Building. You will observe nine teachers: some are cuddling crying little ones, some are playing with a few and the rest are sitting up and listening to the Bible story for the day. Yes, it is in this age that teachers begin to prepare lessons and memory verses weekly. Teaching techniques are demonstrated every two weeks during the Nursery Department Meeting on Wednesdays. Thirty to thirty-five students are brought by their parents and guardians who hope and pray that their children would soon come to the knowledge of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. Apart from Bible stories presented to them in a creative manner, the caring team headed by Ma’am Maribel Nicar prepares action songs and lively games. As the interests of each student begin to manifest, the teachers continually guide and pray for them. For weekly victories and for teaching resources provided, may God be glorified!

35th Church Anniversary Joyfully Celebrated "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:18-20 The term “The Great Commission” is coined by an unknown person. However, its essence was derived from the aforementioned verses and was supported by Acts 1:8, wherein Christ has charged the church before His ascension: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” When you hear the word "commission," the first thing that may come to your mind is the commission military officers receive when they enter into service. Commissioned officers draw their authority directly from a sovereign power and, as such, they hold a commission charging them with the duties and responsibilities of a specific office or position. No wonder this Commission was considered and called “Great” so as to emphasize that the order comes from the supreme governing body Who is no less than GOD. The Great Commission is a three-fold pattern for a growing Christian. Every believer has been called a child of God after being taught of the way of the cross toward his salvation. After which, he got into water and by baptism, he became part of the Church. It was then that he shall enter into growth in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ through discipleship and godly counseling. The Great Commission is a three-fold plan for building God’s church. A soul-conscious congregation goes out to the nearest byways to the farthest nations to preach and teach the Gospel. By compelling people to church, church members bring souls to be saved and to be baptized and are added to the church (Acts 2:41). In no less time, said converts are brought to deeper understanding of the Scripture and as they become disciples, they shall be teachers to others, too. Realizing these, being part of Christ’s Church, we are subject to fulfill the Great Commission. If doctors declare their Hippocratic Oath and the military officers their Commissioning Oath so that they may protect lives; hence, Christians saved by the blood of Jesus, must determine to take part in ministering to the lost and the newborn babes in the faith. Let us be good not just in soulwinning, but in bringing people to church until they have reached the spiritual increase which God will cause for His glory!

EEMING WITH EXUBERANCE for the February month-long emerald anniversary celebration, CBBC-San Pedro City once again witnessed the workings of God in the hearts and lives of the Church members and workers as they ushered almost 7000 First-Time-Visitors to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is with awe that the fervor and zeal have pressed on for all these 35 years of God’s faithfulness. The four Sundays yielded visitors coming in from Area 1 to 36 within the Greater Luzon Region. Concurrently, troops of students from Public Schools, Colleges and Police Academe came to celebrate with us. More than 10,000 souls have been won for Christ in the Anniversary Month alone, a feat only possible through God’s sustaining grace and power. Preachings delivered by our beloved Pastor Dr. Ed Laurena were meant for the salvation of the lost and a challenge for God’s people to align themselves with the theme of making disciples as the Lord Himself made disciples. The godly music, prayed-up Sunday school teachings, organized fetching and ushering, and all the precious tasks necessary have worked together to serve a huge crowd and impress on them their need for a Saviour. The culminating event last Sunday evening, the 23rd of February, was blessedly attended by the faithful members along with some brethren from daughter churches: Christian Soldiers Impact Tabernacle Taguig with Pastor Gil Laurena, CBBC Manila with Ptr. Allan Earnhart, CBBC Outreach- Dasmariñas with Preacher Reygan Bañaga, CBBC Sto. Tomas with Ptr. Oliver America, CBBC Tanza with Ptr. Rey Baugan, CBBM Lipa Batangas with Preacher Boyet de Leon, CBBM Noveleta with Preacher Ryan Porcioncula, CBBM Candelaria Quezon with Preacher Ramir Calicdan, CBBC Tarlac City with Ptr. Alex Bartolome, CBBC Calauan with Ptr. Dante de Leon, CBBM Mindoro with Preacher Bart Namol, Sta. Rosa and Carpenter’s Baptist Church with Ptr. Adiel de Torres, Harvest Baptist Church with Ptr. Win Pechardo and some other good folks
from fellowshipping churches. In thanksgiving, the City Mayor of San Pedro and a number of officials also shared in the celebration. Congressman Revilla with wife Mrs. Janet Basco-Revilla and children also attended with a special number from the hymnal sung by Janet and daughter. Immediately following the evening Church service was a simple feast prepared for the Church family to foster camaraderie and godly fellowship. God paved the way to let this Church continue to be a stunning testimony of the saved believers and a hope for this lost and dying world. In the face of a noble yet arduous task of Gospel proclamation and building lives, the month-long celebration has been a shining example of triumphing and celebrating for the glorious cause of Christ. It is always a wondrous thing to be a participator of God’s miracles. May we always live our lives to please Him. “Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”-Ephesians 3:21.
Great Commission's Fulfuillment Beata B. Agustin
The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs you and me. It’s a great honor we must acknowledge with grateful glee Since only God can put us into His ministry that others’ needs we’ll see… Let’s trust His heart in sharing His love so rich and free!
“Go Ye...” Matthew 28:18-20 It takes three to thrive. The threefold cord of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye...and teach all...baptizing them....Teaching them to observe...” is the only potent recipe for saving the lost while edifying the saints, and glorifying the Saviour. When Jesus gave these last words directly to the disciples before His ascension, He was then giving the church its marching orders. He was telling us, church members, exactly what He expected us to do in His physical absence. The disciples took the Lord's command seriously and went into all the world, shared the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and thousands upon thousands were saved by the grace of God. The Mandate of the Great Commission is divine, “Go ye...” and the Message is so dynamically powerful, “...for it is the power of God unto salvation...” (Romans 1:16). The early disciples' witness was so effective that their critics accused them of “...These that have turned the world upside down...” (Acts 17:6). The Mission is divinely attested by Acts 1:8, “...and ye shall be witnesses unto me...” The Mentor is divinely blessed, “...I am with you always...” (v.20). The tragic reality confronts us that what was given as The Great Commission has turned into what some have labelled as The Great Omission. When something is “omitted,” it is “left out, undone, neglected.” Instead of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth as the Lord commanded, most Christians won't even take the Gospel to the ends of the streets. It is a saddening statistics that 95% of all Christians have never won a soul to Christ and 80% do not consistently live a life for Christ's testimony. Less than 2% are involved in the ministry of soulwin-
ning and 71% do not give toward financing to propel this Great Commission. These picture the reality of a watereddown Christianity. The mediocre Christians are satisfied to be saved, but are not motivated to see others come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Somehow, some have come to believe that the end of our responsibility is to come to church a couple of times a week or whenever there is a service held, pray whenever convenient, read the Bible casually and mechanically, and live a life that is slightly cleaner than the rest of the world. The mediocre have forgotten the truth that Christianity is a militant, activist faith. Our foremost calling as God's people is not to endure to the end; but to storm the very gates of Hell as promised in Matthew 16:18. Our orders are not to sit idly by while the world drops off into Hell; our orders are to go into the world and tell them the glorious news of a crucified and risen Saviour Who specializes in saving souls, and in changing lives and eternal destinies. While most Christians have pulled the covers of complacency and apathy, and have fallen into the deep slumber of self-satisfaction and comfort, the world has continued its headlong plunge toward Hell. In spite of the conditions around us; in spite of the difficulties and dangers; in spite of every excuse we offer, the Great Commission still stands. God still expects His people to take His message to a lost and dying world so that they might hear the wonderful words of life. Has the Great Commission become the Great Omission in your life? Are you doing everything you can to find inroads of outreach into the world around us? We must come to the Lord Jesus and ask Him to change our own hearts so we can ever be proclaimers of The Great Commission.
The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our participation. It’s a wondrous invitation we must welcome with joyful appreciation Since only God can call us toward His work with His promised provision… Let’s depend on His power in leading the lost to His assured salvation! The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our availability. It’s a precious investment we must treasure with sincere humility Since only God can enable us thru His might to overcome our incapacity… Let’s cleave to His grace in winning souls with the Gospel of eternal security! The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our commitment. It’s an awesome demand we must accept with diligent involvement Since only God can command us for His kingdom-advancement… Let’s seek His wisdom in guiding converts to scriptural baptism-settlement! The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our faithfulness. It’s a rare privilege we must value with prudent carefulness Since only God can make us useful by His ways of bountiful fruitfulness… Let’s abide in His Word in testifying about His favor for His church’s steadfastness! The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our partnership. It’s a divine experience we must enjoy with prayerful worship Since only God can help us labor by His principles of stewardship… Let’s learn from His truths in teaching for effective discipleship of warm fellowship! The Great Commission’s fulfillment needs our perseverance. It’s a heavenly challenge we must face with meek endurance Since only God can move us to go and give our best for sinners’ deliverance… Let’s praise His name in doing His will while waiting for His glorious appearance!
