PRINCIPLES FOR INVOLVEMENT
To God be the glory for the triumphant anniversary month He had given us last February. We truly praise and thank HIM for granting us victorious celebration through thousands of souls who got saved and many members who participated in sharing the Gospel, in inviting visitors, in contributing their resources, and in praying. As your Pastor, I thank you, dear members, for your involvement. This anniversary success is a result of your cooperation and support to our church program for God’s honor. For this, I say that your labor for the Lord and for His work is not in vain. Let me then charge and challenge you to keep on involving by the grace of God. This is because the call for follow-up, visitation and discipleship-efforts is getting louder. We have to accept the responsibility of “going after” our visitors as a part of fulfilling our accountability for the Great Commission. Such we can do if we empty ourselves, and we let God make great things out of us, acknowledging that God’s specialty is creating something worthy out of nothing. Furthermore, let us fill ourselves with biblical principles of inDR. ED M. LAURENA volvement this March. We must always be willing to learn from God’s Word so we can become more effective stewards of God’s blessings, particularly of our families. It is on this note that I am encouraging all single parents and couples to attend the Revival Fellowship especially prepared for you on April 5-6. We must bear in mind that God is interested of our homes and with our families; and that couples should be good examples of church involvement. To everyone, a blessed Sunday! Let us all be teachable as we listen to God speak to us today.

The Author of the Bible Nehemiah 1:1-11 / Nehemiah 2:10 I. To be saved is to know personally the Author of the Bible. A. A person who is not saved has no relationship with Christ and cannot serve the Lord. B. A person who accepted Christ as His Lord and personal Saviour has the Spirit of God in him. II. To be strengthened in the faith is to know passionately (intimately) the Author of the Bible. A. Involvement comes when a saved individual confidently knows the Author of the Bible. B. Involvement comes when a saved individual closely knows the Author of the Bible. C. Involvement comes when a saved individual cordially (lovingly) knows the Author of the Bible. III. To serve faithfully in His vineyard is to know practically (sensibly) the Author of the Bible. A. God’s people must know what will make God’s heart sad. B. God’s people must know what will make God happy.

Anniversary Tidings
T
HE SPIRIT OF THE LORD is undeniably upon Christian Bible Baptist Church people who indeed have a mind to work. There was great rejoicing in heaven as we witnessed around 8000 precious First Time Visitors who filled CBBC facilities during the Anniversary Sundays on February 19 and 26 to hear the true Gospel that only Jesus saves. For over 33 years, CBBC Anniversaries have always been highlighted events as they commemorate God’s faithfulness on His promise of victoriously perpetuating His Church and wonderfully working in the lives of His people. Every year, God’s heartbeat through our Pastor for the lost and dying world is seen in the churchwide drive for souls saved every week and given more emphasis during Anniversary Sundays. Faithful members and full-time workers actively brought visitors in our well-kept and maintained Church facilities. Godly music and singing surrounded the auditoriums/ facilities and prepared hearts for the presentation of the Holy Word of God. Great Bible sermons were preached by visiting speakers from the United States, Dr. Peter Mordh (Lancaster Baptist Church) and Evangelist Joseph Knouff (Temple Baptist Church). Meanwhile, teachers and assistants for the Sunday School Children’s Department zealously ministered to over 5000 children. On the far building, those in
the Ministry for the Deaf and Mute joyfully expressed the bliss of worshipping the Lord and fellowshipping with the brethren. The Traffic, Security and Ushering Team did an efficient effort of putting order in managing the throng of people to and from their seats inside the buildings and on the streets. Truly, it was a marvelous sight to behold multitudes of visitors from all walks of life and all ages come to celebrate with us and receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour. Gracing the event was our honorable town mayor Mr. Calixto Cataquiz with his company. A number of schools and groups from neighboring towns were also represented. To name a few: San Jose Elementary School and F. De Castro Elementary School of GMA Cavite, Pedro Diaz National High School, Southville 5A National High School in Biñan, Bayanan Elementary School Unit I, Kapayapaan National High School in Canlubang, APEX, University of Perpetual Help Maritime, St. Louis Anne Colleges, San Pedro and Sta. Rosa Police, and the Philippine National Police Academy. It is our prayer that CBBC will continue to be a manifestation of God’s GREAT GLORY until Jesus comes again… Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. – Ephesians 3:21.
THE GREAT AUTHOR OF OUR BIBLE Beata Agustin The great Author of our Bible is the Creator we must rely on for our perfection So patient in molding us toward His image despite our corruption Always transforming us by His wisdom’s instruction For us to showcase His truth’s function. The great Author of our Bible is the Saviour we must esteem because of our redemption So loving in granting us life eternal with heaven’s destination Always strengthening us by His faith-refining action For us to declare His Gospel’s mission. The great Author of our Bible is the Lord we must trust in our discretion So consistent in warning us against waywardness and perversion Always reminding us to immerse in His counsel’s protection For us to follow His commandments’ direction. The great Author of the Bible is the Master we must obey with our devotion So virtuous in leading us toward pursuit for holiness’ fruition Always prodding us to practice biblical separation For us to shine with His testimonies’ jubilation. The great Author of the Bible is the Provider we must seek for our satisfaction So gracious in blessing us with His bounty beyond our expectation Always inviting us to call unto Him thru fervent supplication For us to enjoy His covenant’s comfort and consolation. The great Author of the Bible is the Guide we must cling to in our service-dedication So merciful in upholding us in our church ministry involvement and participation Always guarding us inside His fellowship against idleness’ destruction For us to persevere for His statutes’ presentation. The great Author of the Bible is the Teacher we must consult for our decision So prudent in exposing to us His will of victorious expedition Always feeding us with precious spiritual information For us to learn from His Word’s revelation.

Purihin ang kadakilaan at kapangyarihan ng Diyos. Bagaman ako ay isang taong mababa ang kalagayan sa buhay, nakamit ko ang pinakamataas na layunin ng Diyos sa tao noong ako ay ginawaran Niya ng Kanyang biyaya upang maging anak Niya. Nangyari ito nang ako, bilang isang makasalanan, ay nagsisi at tinanggap ko si Hesus na aking Tagapagligtas noong 1986. Dahil dito, ang langit ang pinakamataas na kalalagyan ko sa habang buhay. Ang aking maybahay ay naligtas noong 1984. Salamat sa Diyos sa pagdala Niya sa amin sa tamang simbahan. Kami ay parehong sumunod sa Panginoon sa tubig ng bawtismo dito sa CBBC noong 1996. Masasabi kong sa aking pamilya, nakalakihan ng aming anak na kami ay Kristyano. Salamat sa Diyos, sa CBBC, at sa ating Pastor na ako at ang aking pamilya ay nabigyan ng pagkakataong makapaglingkod sa makapangyarihang Tagapaglikha. Ako ay isang usher, at ang aking maybahay at anak ay mga Sunday School teacher. Lagi naming ipinapanalangin na sa tulong ng mga katuruan sa CBBC, kami ay marapat na magpatuloy sa biyaya at awa ng Diyos. Taos puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa mga taong naging bahagi ng aming buhay upang lumago kami bilang mananampalataya. Tunay ngang ang Panginoon ang nagbabago ng buhay at personal namin itong nararanasan. Karapat-dapat lamang na Siya ay aming pasalamatan at paglingkuran, habang isinasabuhay namin ang katotohanan sa II Timothy 2:11 na, “It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him.” Ang Diyos ay purihin!

We count it a privilege to share our testimony with the great people and children of God, as we acknowledge that we are just sinners saved by grace. I got saved through a Bible study of CBBC-SPL which was conducted in our school during my college years. I then became a member of this church in 1995. My wife, Emily, was my first fruit in the Lord; I shared the Gospel with her when I was still courting her. Since then, God has been faithful to us through the years. We truly thank and praise God for putting us in this wonderful church. As a seaman by profession, and now working as an instructor for seafarers, I cannot imagine what my life is today without God and CBBC. One of our great blessings is Dr. Ed M. Laurena, a loving pastor, a true friend, a godly mentor, a spiritual guardian, and a good leader. He and his family are a significant influence to us because of their great example. God has also blessed us through CBBC with brethren and friends who encourage us, making our Christian life wonderful. We thank God for being so gracious that He has given us the chance to serve Him. I will not forget this truth from the pulpit that God used to convict me to respond to his call for involvement: “What is the value of your Christian life if God is not using you in His work, while your job and your boss are using you in your company?” At present, we are happy and blessed in assisting Rev. Rey Calma in the Joyful Beginners’ Sunday School. I am also tasked to lead the fellowship for the 40-49 year-old men while my wife handles the women’s fellowship. She is also serving as a dentist in our church clinic. Every week, I hold a Bible study in our office where souls are won for Christ. We pray that God will always strengthen us physically and spiritually, and to increase our faith so that we will be able to continue serving Him and be a blessing to others. To God be the glory!
