from your
Pastor
We thank and praise God for enabling us to know and experience “the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power” (Ephesians 1:19). Since God can do so, we are blessed indeed, as His believers, who are eternally assured of Heaven and truly secured from Hell through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Also, it is our delight us His redeemed children to learn more about His power in our lives as we abide in His will, ways and Word, and enjoy our personal walk and fellowship with Him. Likewise, we are tremendously privileged to witness His power at work in His church where we belong. Aside from the various ministries that help the members to grow spiritually, our church ceases not to teach and preach Jesus Christ to reach out to the lost, and to edify the saints by the guidance of God. Such is an evidence of our commitment to do our best and utmost part to help fulfill the Great Commission. In fact, after our victorious Anniversary celebration that was wrought by His might and grace, our attendance has remarkably increased, and
the number of our “second-time guests” is notably increasing. That then is a reinforcing call along with the challenge and charge for our perseverance, diligence and steadfastness in striving to do more for the kingdom of God.
Meanwhile, we give the Lord the glory for the
triumphant mission-work opening and first Sunday service of our Tagaytay Mission. God be honored, too, for the grace-filled success of the Winter Camp in Taiwan, and for the spirited gatherings in all the outreaches there, especially in the newlystarted Tainan Outreach. With all these blessings, gratefulness to God should be our rightful attitude, and love-motivated service to Him must be our sincere response. Today, may He see us truly worshipping Him with our humble acknowledgment that, “Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy
presence”
(Psalm
140:13).

I have stayed here for almost 6 weeks. I thank God for all of you, church members, for your kindness and hospitality. I really enjoyed my stay here. Today, I want to share my experience with you all before and after I came here. Before I came here, I had saved money for more 新恵理子 than one year because I Tsuruga Baptist didn’t want to depend on my parents for my travel Church and living expenses in the Philippines. I had a university class from 8:45am to 6:00pm. So I worked at a bakery from 4:30am to 8:00am twice or three times a week before the class. After the class, I worked at a crepe shop twice a week. Also, I had a part-time job tutoring Junior High School students twice a week. In this way, I earned my own money and came here. It was hard for me to find these jobs but
Eriko Shin
after I prayed a lot, God gave me these jobs. So I felt the guidance of the Lord. After I came here, I have a lot of blessing from the Lord every day. I learned a lot of things – English, sign language, and how to play the piano. I learned Filipino cultures through everyday life. For example, what kind of foods are eaten and how to exchange greetings. Also, I learned once more about the faith, Christian living, how to share the Gospel, and the power of God. Telling about God to Japanese people is not so easy but I’ll try to share this experience with my father, grandfather, and my friends. Lastly, I want to thank my family and Tsuruga Baptist Church for their prayer for me because I didn’t get sick and I’m in good health. Also, I would like to thank my dorm members, church members, my teacher Ate Jenny and Ma’am Beata, Bible students, Nanay Ellen in cooking my lunch, Pastor Ed, his wife, and his family. I’m really glad to see you although it’s a short time. I hope to meet you again. God bless you all. To God be the glory.
CBBCO Taiwan's Winter Camp 2015 Fired Up the Believers’ Faith In the closing of a very cold season in a non-English speaking nation, God has again evidently shown that He can fire up His people's faith for His honour and glory by way of our annually-held Winter Camp in Taiwan. This year marked a major milestone as four outreaches from Kaohsiung, Jhong-Li, Taichung, and Tainan converged in Taichung Campsite to fellowship in the Word of God last February 18-20. While the rest of Taiwan celebrated Chinese New Year, 178 brethren heard convicting and comforting sermons from God's choicest men to work in their hearts. Anchored on the theme, “God Can!” the Camp was led by our beloved Pastor Dr. Ed with his team: Pastor Gil Laurena (CBBC Taguig), Pastor Dante de Leon (CBBC Calauan), 04
Pastor Allan Earnhart (CBBC Manila), Pastor Ed dela Peña (CBBC Bauan), and graced by a dear Patriarch in the faith, Dr. Larry Clayton from Ohio, USA. the said Camp brought a revival and a reason for these precious people to sing joyfully the songs of Zion in a strange and foreign land. continued on page 05...
...continued from page 04
They were exhorted to activate their faith by always considering God's work and what they could render unto Him for all His benefits toward His people. They were also challenged to exhibit always God's character knowing that Satan cannot defeat God's purposes since nothing in the Creator's original plan has been frustrated and that God cannot be shaken by our sins. Likewise, they were warned by Dr. Larry Clayton on the reasons Prophet Jonah got into trouble. The three-day event gave encouragement for spiritual growth, strengthening of faith in God, and exhortations for blessed giving. It also yielded 10 baptisms, and among them was EJ, the
son of Preacher Jay Serviño. An added bonus was the commitment made by five brethren to enroll in Baptist Heritage Bible College this coming June. God has brought these Outreach works this far by faith and they surely are in their best days ahead as Pastor Ed Laurena gears them
towards planting more mission works in neighboring counties Hsin-Chu and Chang-Wa. Let us continue to hold them up in prayer to be channels constantly of God's greatest Work. May the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and magnified in what we strive to do through His grace alone.
Magpakatotoo Kang Tao ng Diyos “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”-1 Peter 2:9-10 Isang madayang ideyolohiyang kumakalat sa modernong panahon natin ngayon ang pangungusap na “Truth is Relative.” Malinaw na sinabi sa talata na, “...called you out of darkness into his marvellous light...”
pipiliin pa nating makipamatok sa sistema ng mundo na maglalagay sa atin sa posisyon na magiging kaaway tayo ng Diyos, “...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;...” (Romans 6:16) Nawa'y matagpuan tayong sumusunod sa Diyos bilang Kanyang mga hinirang na tao, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.”
