from your Pastor
DR. ED M. LAURENA
We thank and praise God for continually giving us opportunities to do His will through His church. Likewise, we are always privileged to learn from His Word and to be exposed to various church ministries that help us become strong in the faith. All of these are surely God’s blessings for us in this church that we should not take for granted, since they are means and ways for us to be involved in the accomplishment of the Lord’s Great Commission. Let us keep on advancing the kingdom of God while populating Heaven and making disciples by joining our Area soulwinning, Bible study, visitation and follow-up pursuits; aside from participating in our church programs, Nehemiah project, prayer and fellowship activities. Moreover, let us apply what we are learning in our Sunday School this March that emphasizes “Dedication in Fulfilling the Great Commission,” considering that God has promised us His power and presence with His assurance of “…I am with you alway, even unto then end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20). Being commissioned to lead you in fulfilling the said mandate of God, I, as your Pastor appreciate your love and faithfulness to the Lord, as well as your prayer and support for me even when I preach in other churches. Such is what I experienced when I was in Bible Baptist Church of Mandaue City under Pastor Baladjay for their missions conference last week. I know that you will again pray for me as I minister to our brethren in Taichung, Taiwan for our Outreach’s 4th Anniversary. Let us worship God in Spirit and in truth today!

“ANG BUHAY NI KRISTO”
MATAGUMPAY NA ITINANGHAL
S WHO GAVE THE GREAT COMMISSION? Matthew 28:18-20
I. The Omnipotent Creator gave the great commission. A. The Commander’s command is serious. B. The Commander’s capacity is superb. C. The Commander’s compensation is sumptuous. II. The Omniscient Master gave the great commission. A. God knows every address in every nation. B. God knows the very needs of the people in every nation. C. God wants to supply the very needs of the people. III. The Omnipresent Saviour gave the great commission. A. The God of the great commission will empower believers as they witness. B. The God of the great commission will enable believers as they serve Him through the Church. C. The God of the great commission will never leave us nor forsake us.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." -Acts 1:8
T
HOUGH IT WAS JESUS who spoke these very words before the apostles prior to His ascension, we can see the presence of the TRINITY in the complete essence of the Great Commission. This emphasizes that there is teamwork in action for the salvation of man. Henry Ford defined teamwork as the ability to work together toward a common vision. It is the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. Salvation is the act of the Triune God; thus, there is similar degree of involvement of each Person to the proclamation of it to humankind. God the Father promised it. Before Christ’s incarnation, even from the beginning, when man fell, propitiation for the sin of man has already been declared in prophecy as in Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” God the Son executed it, that He came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many, Mark 10:45. The message of the Gospel which He made alive and real was entrusted to the hands of the apostles who composed the first church which He, Himself established, Matt 16:18. Being the Pastor then, He sent them out to preach and teach. God the Holy Spirit empowers. This is a continual working since the time that this commission was handed over to the church, such as in Acts 2. The same Spirit works in the heart of every witness, and those who are being shared with the Word of God. These three persons in One God work mightily for the foundation of the Gospel, while another team of three must work for its furtherance – the Bible, the Holy Spirit and YOU. Yes, the going, baptizing and teaching are not for the fulltime and frontline workers only, but as this Great Commission was entrusted to the Church, every one of us must dedicate a heart for its fulfillment.
CBBA AND DCE-BHBC EXHIBIT
MARVELOUS ARTWORKS AND SIMPLE ROBOTICS
I
NTEGRATING STRATEGIES for the teaching curriculum of the Diploma in Christian Education of the Baptist Heritage Bible College and the learners of Christian Bible Baptist Academy, an exhibit was held last March 7, Friday to display the students’ homegrown talents, skills, and ingenuity utilizing what has been taught to them from the Arts and Computer Laboratory. Such was propelled by the theme verse in Psalm 139:14, "Marvelous are thy works..." The Senior High Schoolers and Junior Graders contributed to the exhibit items and they were a delight and a marvel to the viewers. The event has promoted and reinforced the enthusiasm of these precious students, parents, and teaching staff to use always their time, zeal, and ingenuity to create something good and wonderful for God's glory. May God continually bless Baptist Heritage Bible College and Christian Bible Baptist Academy in their endeavor for excellent godly teaching-learning experiences.
Feeding Program ng CBBC Inilunsad sa Alabang
D
Ministry in WORKING SINGLE LADIES, AGE 26 AND UP Being a woman of spiritual influence is every Christian lady’s calling, not just the responsibility of a few who are “gifted” or has been called to full-time work. More than inside the walls of a church building, the workplace, where an average working person spends almost half of his daily waking hours, is one of the most strategic places of ministry for most Christians. There is a recognized need for grace and spiritual courage that highlights the King’s business in one’s place of work. Thus, the weekly Sunday School lesson for the working Single Ladies’ Sunday School Class, age 26 and up, is conveyed within the context of women at work, not only to serve God in full-time ministry as the higher calling, but also to enter into the joy of being a witness for Jesus, Lord and Saviour, in the secular workplace. With an average of 30 working ladies on Sunday mornings and 20 ladies on Sunday Fellowship nights , the class headed by Mrs. Liza Alivia as class teacher, meets inside the “Yellow Room “ tucked behind the dining area at the ground floor of the Sibug’s residence. The age range is from 26 yrs. old to early 50s, with a good third of the class who are in full-time ministry. The other two thirds are a mix of ladies with
secular jobs and those with secular jobs and involvement in a ministry. The afternoon Fellowship is the ladies’ time to bond and be drawn closer in sisterly love and cooperation as they get involved in teams. The class is divided into four groups, with each group fittingly named after four remarkable women in the Scriptures: Deborah, Dorcas, Esther, and Hannah. As teams, they alternately host the evening fellowship with prepared program consisting of singing, quiz bees, special numbers, and personal testimonies to share how God is using the lessons to get them rooted and builtup in Christ, and audio-visual presentations to revisit the morning’s Sunday School lesson. On the first week of February 2014, the WSL 26 and Up Class published the maiden issue of DAYSPRING, the monthly WSL’s newsletter. The newsletter aims to be a spring of blessings through the personal testimonies of God’s faithfulness in the lives of His children, a spray of grace through sharing of personal meditations on God’s Word , a vehicle of expression of God-given literary talents and a of field of prayers for the petitions and burdens. Through DAYSPRING, the WSL Class would like to be bound together in love by being a blessing to each other and to those who will come to read it.
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
S

“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” -1Thessalonians 5:24 Throughout chronicled accounts, it is only our Lord Jesus Christ Who has credibly said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth…" Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God. His miraculous birth, substitutionary death, and bodily resurrection are the most important events in human history. God became man. He died on the cross and was raised from the dead to save people from sin and to give eternal life to all who receive Him. The result was a spiritual uprising that changed the first century world and dramatically altered the course of history. Jesus of Nazareth, the greatest Person who ever lived, has caused the most changes for good in the entire history of mankind through changing the lives of hundreds of millions of men and women. Jesus of Nazareth, without the machineries of money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammed and Napoleon. Without the aid of scientific and scholastic accolades, He shed more light on things human and divine than all the philosophers and scholars combined. Without the eloquence of schools, He spoke Words of life such as were never spoken neither before nor since, and likewise produced astounding effects which lie beyond the reach of any excellent orator or poet. Not a writer by profession, His Words in the Bible have set more pens in motion and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, works of art, learned volumes, and sweet songs of praise than the whole army of great people of ancient and modern time. Born in a manger, crucified as a malefactor, He controls the destinies of the civilized world and rules a spiritual empire that encircles not only the globe but all of cosmos. Christ changes men, women and nations. Wherever His message goes, lives are transformed
and eternal destination is altered. The glorious Gospel converts individuals, and consequently changes society. Such is true and evident in every mission field from the days of William Carey, where missionaries have carried the real Gospel. With Christ’s cause, they established standards of purity and hygiene, promoted industry, elevated womanhood, restrained antisocial customs, abolished cannibalism, human sacrifice and cruelty, organized famine relief, pacified tribal wars and changed the structure of society. Paul wrote in Colossians 1:16-18, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Shortly after Jesus gave the Great Commission, God the Holy Spirit, on the day of Pentecost, transformed and empowered the lives of the same disciples who, during His trial and crucifixion, had denied our Lord and for the most part had deserted Him. Following Pentecost, they went out boldly and courageously, willing to risk their lives to proclaim the message of God's love, forgiveness, and redemption in Christ. In fact, all of the disciples died as martyrs preaching the Gospel, except for John who died in exile on the Isle of Patmos after he survived being burned in a vat of oil for his faith. If God’s people are to become truly and completely committed to the Resurrected Saviour and His Return and to be controlled and empowered by His Spirit, we would turn our world upside down and experience a mighty spiritual revolution like that in the first century because “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” -1Thessalonians 5:24

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
