PRINCIPLES FOR INVOLVEMENT
Christian life would never be a success apart from the Word of God which serves a lamp unto our feet and a light to our paths. Success always awaits believers who cling to and obey God’s Word. I pray that every member of this church would have that desire. I covet again your prayers for two things. One is for a successful medical mission we will have this week. This is in partnership with Medical Missions Outreach of Calvary Baptist Church, Ohio. I appreciate Bro. Bradley and his group for coming to our country with a main purpose of giving the Gospel out. Also, please do pray as we celebrate the 18th Anniversary of our outreach here in Kaohsiung today. Started through listening on a preaching tape, this outreach is a fruit of the Great Commission being fulfilled since God’s grace has been evident in saving souls and changing lives here. We pray that He continues to do so. That is what our goal is all about, obeying His Word and reaching the lost! Have a blessed Sunday!

MY REGARD FOR THE BIBLE Beata Agustin I love the Bible, God’s Holy Word It gives me success against failures’ record Never will I reject its might as the Spirit’s sword More to be desired than fine gold only the wealthy can afford. I respect the Bible, God’s living message It brings me comfort against problems’ baggage Never will I forsake its principles that prevail over sin-wreckage More to be valued than intellectual merit expressed by a philosophical adage. I obey the Bible, God’s sovereign commandment It drives me toward prosperity against poverty’s entanglement Never will I neglect its direction for worship fruitfulness and fulfillment More to be treasured than worldly awards that perish with their vain sentiment. I trust the Bible, God’s guiding light It ushers me to holiness against sins’ blight Never will I scorn its standards always true and right More to be preferred than radiant stardom devoid of heaven’s sight. I study the Bible, God’s pure wisdom It teaches me service against selfishness’ boredom Never will I forget its counsels in seeking first the Lord’s kingdom More to be prioritized than quality education and its academic freedom. I delight in the Bible, God’s soul- satisfying provision It fills me with contentment against frustration’s affliction Never will I doubt its promises so faithful midst agonizing tribulation More to be favored than earthly riches glittering in destructive corruption. I submit to the Bible, God’s written authority It builds me up for faith-growth against Christian life’s immaturity Never will I criticize its laws, precepts, judgments and statutes of great certainty More to be cherished than extraordinary fame which cannot match crowns of eternity.

We thank Him likewise for our brethren who are resolved to involve by His grace, through His leading, and for His glory. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour on April 7, 1997 at Echague, Isabela, when my high school teacher who helped me in my college education shared with me the Gospel. I continued knowing the Lord Jesus Christ by attending a typical provincial Baptist Church in that place. I got baptized a year after, but I never grew as I ought to be in my Christianity. However, God blessed me through the said church that assisted me amidst life’s hardships to finish my college degree, find a good job, and earn more than what I expected. Then came a point when I seldom attended church services because of my job, and I even became a slave of worldly influence. Unprepared and with unstable faith, I married my wife. Before I knew it, I already lost my job. I decided to look for a job in Laguna. Three months later, my wife joined me to earn for our living. We gave up our rent-to-own house and lot in Isabela because of our incapacity to pay for the monthly mortgage. We lived for almost a year in a small rented room with the informal settlers beside SLEX near Coca-Cola plant. It was then that I realized that my life was already too far from the Lord. I knelt down, cried out and prayed to God to deliver us from such misery. Truly, God is merciful as He heard my prayer by giving me a good job and transferring us to Tagapo, Sta. Rosa where we could rent a better house. In February, 2008, Bro. Rey and Sis. Ellen Calma invited us to attend CBBC’s 29th year Anniversary. I was so blessed in our first attendance at CBBC-San Pedro during its anniversary. There, I found God’s grace restoring to me the joy of my salvation. For our spiritual growth, Bro. Rey and Sis. Ellen were used by God to disciple and nurture us with His Word. Likewise, the hard preachings truly helped our married life stick to biblical principles. I thank God for using CBBC to revive me, to help me become a godly father and leader of my family, and to teach me win souls and give my tithes and offerings. I can testify that there are countless blessings that my family has experienced through this great Church of God. To enumerate some; my little girl Abbigail was an answered prayer, since my wife has only one ovary after going through an ovarian cyst operation; my wife was assured of her salvation last January 12, 2009, during the Soul-winning Conference; and my elder sister got saved through CBBC’s ministry at Area 11. Moreover, we are grateful to God for the great privilege He has given us through our beloved Pastor in the Sunday School Ministry, which we never imagined ourselves to be part of. I am also sometimes given the opportunity to lead devotions at Area 12 Bible Study Center during Thursdays. Indeed, we thank God for adding us to His great church, CBBC-San Pedro. To God be the glory!

Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa Panginoon sa ibinigay Niyang kaligtasan sa akin at sa aking pamilya. Tinanggap ko ang Panginoon bilang sarili kong Tagapagligtas noong Agosto, 2003, at nabawtismuhan noong Hunyo, 2006. Bagaman sa simula ay mahirap mag-adjust mula sa pagiging Katoliko, nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon sa Kanyang pagtuturo sa akin upang ako ay lumago sa pananampalataya at magbago sa Kanyang kapangyarihan. Ganundin ay pinupuri ko Siya sa pagbigay sa akin ng asawa na matiyagang sumusuporta sa akin. Ang aking asawa ay naligtas noong Oktubre, 1994, at nabawtismuhan sa araw ding yaon. Galing siya sa pamilya ng mga Baptist. Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon sa taong ginamit niya, si Sis. Grace Malaza, upang magbahagi sa akin ng Salita ng Diyos at imbitahan dito sa CBBC. Siya rin ang nagpakilala sa akin sa aking naging asawa ngayon. Naniniwala ako sa isinasaad sa Rom. 8:28 na “All things work together for good... according to His purpose.” Sa ngayon, kami ay biniyayaan ng Panginoon ng dalawang anak na lalaki. Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat sa Panginoon, sa ating Pastor at sa simbahang ito sa aming paglago sa pananampalataya. Sa kasalukuyan, kami ay nakakasama sa soulwinning sa aming Area at pinapagamit namin ang aming bahay bilang Bible Study Center. Isama ninyo kami sa inyong panalangin na patuloy kaming gamitin ng Panginoon sa Kanyang gawain, at patuloy rin Siyang gumawa sa aming buhay. Sa Diyos ang kaluwalhatian!
