“O Praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever‌â€? (Psalm 117:1-2).

Summer D.R.A.F.T.S. ( Developing Rendered Abilities For The Saviour ) will be offering music lessons this summer for interested individuals ages 10 and up. First meeting will be on April 5, Sunday night after divided fellowship.

Students’ Talents Showcased at the BHBC Literary and Music Festival Despite the full-packed schedule for the week, there seemed to be no room for fainting in the hearts of the students. By God’s grace, excitement filled their spirits as the annual BHBC Literary and Music Festival commenced at 8:30 in the morning of Tuesday, March 24. The program kicked-off with a challenge from the Word of God proclaimed by Preacher Reygan Bañaga. The story of the lad who willingly gave his five loaves and two fishes confronted the students of Baptist Heritage Bible College to do their best not for the sake of winning. Hence, the primary motive should be the glory of the Father who gave them the opportunity to use such gifts for the work of the ministry. There were fifteen events joined in by students from first year to fourth year. Chosen freshmen took the challenge in Oratorical presentation of Psalms 1 and 23, Romans 8:28-39 and Ephesians 6:10-18. Six ladies from the same class gloriously played their respective pieces for the Piano Recital. On the other hand, the selected sophomores played before the crowd their guitar rendition of the hymn “Hold the Fort,” while some of them contemplated on the topic “Can God Furnish a Table in the Wilderness?” to be able to compose an essay. Meanwhile, if there were students who were more busy and nervous than the rest, they surely belong to the third year class. Four men were privileged enough to preach, and had the audience blessed with their message. Moreover, students from Teacher’s 04

Training class exposed various teaching methods and techniques as five ladies presented a lesson from the story of the “Woman at the Well” in John 6, and five men taught, retelling the story of “Noah and the Ark” in Genesis 6. Another five students interpreted via Sign Language the hymns sung by the crowd enthusiastically led by four eager Song Leaders. As to the major musical events, two groups had their esteemed representatives sing in solo, duet, trio and quartet. Both Conquerors and Victors majestically rendered their chorale presentation of “Jesus Saves” and “Marching beneath the Banner,” respectively. Furthermore, three teams from College Preparatory Course vied for 1st place at the Bible Quiz Bee. Three sets of questions, from easy to hard, were addressed to them. continued on page 04...

BHBC Banquet Night Graciously Held

Decked in red and gold, the Las Villas de Manila Clubhouse served as this year’s venue for the Banquet Night of Baptist Heritage Bible College last Monday, March 23. Over 200 attendees of mixed students, alumni, guests, and faculty and staff took part in thanking God for another glorious and fruitful year that He has granted this educational ministry of CBBC. Students, grouped according to their respective home churches, rendered multimedia presentations exhibiting the essence of the special occasion’s theme, “Keeping the Faith,” inspired by 2 Timothy 2:2. The group of stay-in students exposed the importance of keeping a firm stand in their calling and commitment despite persecutions. Their skit showed that faithfulness shall form in one’s life an effective witness to his or her own family. Meanwhile, a five-minute musical play by the Calauan-San Pablo group challenged the crowd to keep grounded in the faith brought to every believer by the pure word of God because some are already swayed to other religions by false teachers. The ladies’ quartet from Dasmariñas Outreach emphasized keeping the faith by walking by it while the “Balagtasan” from Bauan, the land of the poetic ones, gave emphasis on the importance of keeping the standards of Christian living as taught by

the King James Bible. The revival heat in the midst of the assembly grew more intense when Pastor Mordh stood up and gave the message “Abounding in Faith for the Fight” rooted in 2 Chronicles 32:8. The “Ampalaya Awards” acknowledged students who were known to be Ampalaging Masaya, and Ampalaging Excited, among others. Finally, certificates and special tokens were given to the Faculty and Staff in recognition to their faithful service as disciplers of aspiring servants in this beloved institution. Dr. Ed Laurena, the President of BHBC was grateful for the success of the event. He encouraged everyone to support even the upcoming events concerning the college and the ministries of the church. BHBC remains to be an avenue of training for future spiritual leaders who will keep on keeping the faith.

CEF Teachers Upheld in an Appreciation Meeting

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) cordially invited the workers from Christian Bible Baptist Church to attend the Mayor’s call for appreciation and thanksgiving last Monday, March 23 at the San Pedro City Hall. Over a hundred teachers gathered to witness what God has done from February to March as they saturated 12 Elementary Schools in this city. Bro. Elmer Rañola, Training Ministry In-charge in NCR-South Area, presided the meeting. Despite the gloomy skies that morning, the glowing smiles brightened the room, plus the happy singing and highly valued testimonies from individuals who joined the teaching force for the past six weeks or so. Praise be to God for the heartily delivered speech by former Mayor Calixto Cataquiz. He reiterated the need to prepare the next generation to fight the stronger worldly forces resulting to more intense immorality and character decay. He admitted that there is no better way to counteract all of these but the power of God and His Word. Moreover,

Rev. Jun Garapan charged the teachers to continue what they have started because the lost souls need to know the love of the Father who sent His son for man’s salvation.

teachers and the great grace of God, glory was brought to the Lord from whom all blessings and good gifts flow (James 1:17).

What thrilled the audience, more so the judges, was the so-called “close fight” between and among the contenders. Although competition was not the main endeavor of this collegiate activity, it can be surely concluded that through every participant, and even those who worked as back support to their classmates, with the guidance of the

The team was all the more encouraged when qualitative and quantitative reports were delivered by CEF Representatives, and Bro. Ronnie Delfin, CBBC’s Main Coordinator for CEF. All may have attested that it was surely a tremendous privilege to be working hand in hand with the people who do not just love God but love whom God loves ---the children. The occasion concluded with a prayer that God would continually bless this ministry for His glory!

Watch out for the announcement and awarding of winners which will be inclusive at the BHBC Graduation Program on April 1, Wednesday! To God be the glory!

Bakit Tayo Naghahanap Ng Papuri? "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever."-Revelation 5:13 Matutunghayan sa Aklat ng Mga Gawa kapitulo 9-11 o Acts 9-11 na isa sa mga kapansin-pansing gawi ng mga Pariseo at Saduseo sa panahon ng panlupang ministeryo ng Panginoong Hesus ay ang pagmamatyag sa Kanya upang hanapan ang Kanyang paglabag sa Batas ni Moses. 1. GAYONG TAYO AY GALING LAMANG SA ALABOK. Pinatunayan sa Genesis 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground..."

Winika sa Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

School for the Deaf and Mute 14th Commencement Exercises Successfully Held Inspiring our special brethren in Christ on its 14th Commencement Exercises, CBBC’s School forthe Deaf and Mute had 15 graduates last March 27 at the Church's auditorium. The past academic year yielded four finishers from the College Department, six from High School, four from Elementary, and one from PreSchool. The event ceremony kicked off by an orderly processional of the faculty, the graduating students, and the entrance of colours. Likewise, an inspiring opening remarks given by Ms. Jessa Dorado from CBBC Los Banos was very clear in its aim of continuing this endeavor of reaching and meeting the educational and spiritual needs of these precious brethren in Christ as well as their families and loved ones. Prior to the preaching, a remarkable special rendition of "God Can Do Anything" was sung by the trio of Mam Neth Garrido, Mam Arlene Asis, and Ms. Guy Gerente that helped prepare hearts of the 200 attendees for God's Word. Armed with the theme, "Deaf Can't, But God Can!, Pastor Eusebey Varona from Cavite charged the graduates with the sermon, "How God Can Do Miracles In Our Lives"

06

from the Scriptural passage of John 6:1-13. He exhorted the graduates, the student body, and attending families to start with what they have in the beginning to do something for God. He also motivated them to surrender their all, to sit down attentively for instructions, to give God thanksgiving, and to gather the fragments of what they have accumulated and bring these fragments of truth toothers so that their lives, too, will be changed. The awards and the recognition that followed were a display of the amazing victories God can do in all of us... despite our frailties. May we always uphold the School for the Deaf and Mute, the faculty/staff, and the student body in our prayers as they testify of God's enabling power. May the Lord continually bless us.

We Thank God For His Church Beata B. Agustin

We thank God for His church, built upon Himself, the Rock! We thank God for His church, established as truth’s pillar and ground! His church, by His Word, upholds doctrines biblically sound In teaching principles for holy living though perversions abound While declaring Scriptures’ wise counsels, practical yet eternally profound. We thank God for His church, purchased by Christ’s blood! His church, by His justification-righteousness, receives His approval’s nod In baptizing converts who are ransomed thru His sacrifice for humanity’s sin-flood While discipling members for faith’s growth and service-prod. We thank God for His church, empowered for the Lord’s honor! His church, by His presence, fulfills the Great Commission’s endeavor In advancing His kingdom along ministry-rigor and labor While giving Him all the glory’s preeminence He deserves with majestic splendor. We thank God for His church, endued with the Holy Spirit’s fervency! His church, by His faithfulness, fights slothfulness and complacency In urging Christians to serve as His body with united persistency While sending missionaries and starting mission-works filled with love and mercy. We thank God for His church, guarded against Satan’s bondage! His church, by His victory, protects believers from worldliness’ spoilage In inviting them into warm fellowship within prayer-bond’s safety-courage While exhorting the assembling together of saints for worship’s homage. We thank God for His church, revived to carry the Good News’ light! His church, by His command, bears His name of standard’s lofty height In striving toward holiness midst transgressions’ blight While waiting as His bride to be with Him forever in blissful delight. 07
