HEN WE CONSIDER THE REASONS why we should praise God, we find a list of His attributes.
full of glory (Psalm 138:5). great (Psalm 145:3). wise and powerful (Daniel 2:20). good (Psalm 107:8). merciful and faithful (Psalm 89:1).
This list of attributes is complemented by a list of His wonderful works. 1. 2. 3. 4.

is the One Who saves us (Psalm 18:46). keeps His promises (1 Kings 8:56). pardons sin (Psalm 103:1-3). gives us our daily food (Psalm 136:25).
To try to list all the things God has done is impossible, but it is a wonderful exercise because it turns our hearts back to Him and keeps us mindful of how much we owe to Him. Make your very own personal list of reasons. It will bring you to an attitude of praise.

DVBS 2014 “Growing In Christ” Seminar at Workshop Masikhay na Ginanap
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
College Men and Ladies Facilitated Respective Retreats
A
S NBYC CASTS OFF ITS AFTER-EFFECTS in the lives of many young people, the excitement did not collapse as the men and ladies of the Sunday School College Department facilitated their separate retreats. The ladies met with the sizzling hot summer sun in a resort in Sariaya, Quezon. Forty-seven of them joined the early ride toward the venue to experience the anticipated fun in fellowship and food (for the body, the soul and the spirit). The occasion climaxed when the theme “Rooted in Christ” was expounded by a special guest speaker from Christian Bible Baptist Mission, Mrs. Norie Calicdan. Inspired by Jeremiah 17:7,8, she asserted that a lady rooted in Christ is firm in doing the things she ought to do, not doing the things she must not do and by such, there shall be a fruitful and better end awaiting. Meanwhile, retreats need not to be costly, said the college men. As the ladies went afar from the church premises, the nearness of their venue permitted them to enjoy the whole day in sports and other recreations. These male collegians lined up at the plaza to participate in outdoor and some board games. At lunch time, they feasted on a bunch of food which the students themselves prepared. Generally, activities such as these impress good Christian atmosphere for growing together in learning and serving the Lord. To God be the glory!
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
“But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
T And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. Luke 19:5
ENCOURAGEMENT CAN CHANGE A LIFE
P
RAISE IS AN EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION or admiration to something or someone. It is a commendation, a compliment. It is easy to give praise to someone who is evidently, in many ways, deserving of high regard or approval. King David, in his lifetime resolution accounted in Psalm 57:7, once said, “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” It is an attitude which we, Christians, must develop – praise and thanksgiving to the Lord Who created and saved us. And yes, not only for the pleasurable things He lets us experience, but even for the hard times He allows us to go through. Jesus, in His encounter with Zacchaeus, showed us that though others may see a bad image in a person, there is still opportunity for change, if given the chance. Christ’s invitation puzzled the many Jews who considered this Publican a mere heathen. The imperative word of Jesus, that at that very moment, he MUST abide in Zacchaeus house, impressed an encouragement to him. It soon paved the way for this sinner with an infamous business to be converted and transformed. It counts for a person to be addressed with appreciating words, such as what happened to Howard Hendricks when he was in elementary school. Howard had come from a broken family and was a problem kid. During his first day in fifth grade the teacher said, “Oh, Howard Hendricks. I've heard a lot about you. I understand you are the worst kid in school.” That year Howard did whatever he could to prove her right. When the next year rolled around his sixth grade teacher said to him, “Oh, so you are Howard Hendricks. I've heard you are the worst boy in this school.” Hendricks thought, “Here we go again.” But then the teacher continued, “And you know what? I don't believe a word of it.” Howard said that year that woman did everything she could to help him and encourage him and praise his work; she believed in him. Hendricks credits her with changing his life forever. What is common with Zacchaeus and Hendricks was an encourager. You can be one like Jesus or one like Hendrick’s teacher. Do not withhold anyone from hearing praise from you. Just remember to give it to the proper person, at the proper time, and through the right manner, lest it will be flattery for the recipient. A praise rightly given can be equivalent to a life changed forever.
HIS VERSE ALWAYS reminds me of the significance of a new believer’s spiritual growth. I am so much thankful to the Lord that after I got saved and baptized, the Lord used some faithful and mature Christians to disciple me. I am so grateful to them for the great things they have imparted in my Christian life so I can be nurtured in every aspect of my Christian life and eventually, to develop strong faith in the Lord. I praise and thank the Lord for giving me the privilege to be one of the area leaders of CBBC. There, I have come to understand how really challenging it is to lead others. I realized the big accountability of being an area leader that is why I learned to trust God more by always depending on Him. Discipling others takes a lot of sacrifices, but there is always greater joy to see the growth of those people whom we are ministering to. It is really a blessing that brings joy in my heart in serving the Lord through ministering to people God entrusted to me. -

This attitude of praise is of great importance to God's people. It is an expression of Christ, what He has done for us and our appreciation of His Person and Gifts.
