Vol. 25 | Issue 18 | May 3, 2015
from your
Pastor
Being God’s sanctified children, and peculiar people, we are always taught to grow in the grace of the Lord, and are diligently instructed to mature in the faith. The verses in Colossians 2:6-7 assert that, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” We thank the Lord for adding us to His church which He has built, where we can hear His Word, know His will, learn from His ways, and be discipled through His wisdom, so we can become the faithful, fervent, and fruitful believers He wants us to be in our individual Christian walk, as well as in our scriptural, family and church life. Knowing that Jesus Christ is the Master Builder Who builds His church, we praise Him for all the opportunities and privileges He is giving to each one of us to grow spiritually, “till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). Thus, with His guidance and leadership, we must strive
to build our spiritual health, biblical vision, Christian fellowship, and dynamic faith. All these can surely make us strong Christians who are fit to labour in the work of the Lord and in the advancement of His kingdom. Hence, we are all the more helped and upheld in becoming Christ-like and in loving God with all our best. As your Pastor, I am blessed to have you as my partners in God’s work. Let us then bear spiritual fruits from our diligent prayerfulness, constant Bible reading, eager soulwinning, joyful worship, and active church attendance and involvement. This month calls for our ready support for our Area Vacation Bible School and various scheduled Sunday School retreats, aside from our zealous participation in our regular church activities. Together, let us all be contributors in building God’s church, believing that our Lord remembers without ceasing our “work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father” (I Thessalonians 1:3) .

Working Single Ladies Celebrated Labor Day in a Refreshing Way Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, the three Sunday School classes of the working single ladies took advantage of a very opportune day last Friday, May 1 to visit and be a real blessing to our mission work in Tagaytay City. In the midst of a flurried and harried individual work lives, they were treated to an enriching morning devotion taken from Proverbs 14:23 by Mission Preacher Jerry Villasanta to 'Be Faithful, Fervent, and Firm' in their both secular and ministerial work places, as co-laborers, not merely workers, of God's vineyard. The second half of the day-trip was given to a refreshing refuge to Bernadette Garden Resort in Alfonso, Cavite situated past the border of Tagaytay City. The venue and the trek that lead to it offered the much needed breakaway from urban setting to a refreshing scenery of rich foliage and vegetation to the garden's swimming pool. The ladies were treated to teambuilding activities of 'Gem Chase,’ 'Green and Red Behaviors,' and 'Toxic Waste Dumping;' all of which were aimed to press on to the true
Biblical faith and life, prompt team-building qualities and push out anti-social behaviors. The rest of the afternoon paved way to an exploration of the fruitful garden farm, a refreshingly quick swim, and amiable conversations with fellow sisters. It was indeed a jubilant day of fellowship, fun, and feast. May the Lord always preserve His Word in the hearts and testimonies of the Working Single Ladies for His honor and glory.
Ang Suliranin ng Sarili
“For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was” - James 1:24 Ang talatang nakasaad ay sumasalamin sa maraming mananampalataya sa kasalukuyan--may pagnanais makilala ang sariling pagsalangsang ngunit walang kakayanang talikuran ito. May naitala sa Acts 12:21-23 na, “And upon a set day Herod...And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of God..And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him...”
God Gives Me Victory Over Self Beata B. Agustin
God gives me victory over self-pity By conquering my soul with His salvation-authority Along the plains of my prayer-struggle’s perplexity To make me stay in His heaven-sealed assurance against sin’s penalty… Now, I rest in His triumphant security! God gives me victory over selfishness By subduing my covetousness with His contentment-readiness Along the valleys of my frustration-failure’s lowliness To teach me about His compassion of others-centeredness… Now, I acknowledge His glorious meekness! God gives me victory over self-exaltation By abasing my arrogance with His humility-instruction Along the mountains of my pride-filled accomplishment’s jubilation To let me thank His sacrifice for my eternal redemption… Now, I rejoice in His peaceful satisfaction! God gives me victory over self-willed way By reigning over my personality with His Word of holiness-ray Along the wilderness of my life-building pursuits’ sway To move me to follow His plan and what the Scriptures say… Now, I desire to obey His supreme commands without delay! God gives me victory over self-sufficiency By confronting my vanity with His righteousness-fervency Along the avenues of my comfort-zone’s complacency To let me yearn for His forgiveness for my spiritual deficiency… Now, I seek for His help, while I settle in His tender mercy! God gives me victory over self-confidence By trying my faith with His discipleship-persistence Along the hills of my education-training’s interference To test me thru His standards of full trust and dependence… Now, I submit to His sovereign influence! God gives me victory over self-righteousness’ fulfillment By checking my heart with His discipline-chastisement Along the roads of my virtue-strivings in the guise of ministry’s involvement To free me by His truth from hypocrisy-entanglement… Now, I praise His precious name worthy of my worshipful endearment! 05
