VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 18 > MAY 05
With another month before us, let us have an open heart as we tackle a new theme through our Sunday School on “Learning to Win the War against the Flesh.” Christian life is a daily battle with Satan, the world, and our old sinful nature, and we cannot allow them to defeat our spiritual life. We have Christ in our hearts, and learning to love and depend on Him will make victory possible. May the truth of 1John 4:4 which states, “…greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world,” motivate us to win the fleshly war. It was a great joy for me to see many members, especially the new converts, attend our 1-day Soulwinning Conference last Wednesday. I pray that the preachings and the demonstration helped us a lot to be more zealous in bringing people to Christ. With more opportunities this summer, let us be on fire in winning the lost to Christ. We can even use this week’s Daily Vacation Bible School to see someone get saved. Brethren, God is giving us much opportunity to show our love for Him. Let us be separated from the world, grow in His Word and be a blessing to others! Have a blessed Sunday!

THANK YOU, LORD, FOR WINNING OVER MY FLESH-WAR Beata B. Agustin
Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your presence! Such guards me in my godliness-evidence As You strengthen my faith thru Your power’s persistence Midst carnality’s insistence and humanism’s preference. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your counsel! Such enlightens me in my confusion-struggle As You illumine my understanding thru Your truth’s epistle Midst doubt’s jingle and deceit’s bugle. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your victory! Such sanctifies me in my guilt-worry As You pardon my sinfulness thru Your compassion’s story Midst wickeness’ injury and evil’s misery. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your teaching! Such girds me in my conviction-stretching As You anchor my steadfastness thru Your standards’ preaching Midst indecency’s catching and worldliness’ entrenching. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your sovereignty! Such uplifts me in my submission-humility As You break my pride thru Your holiness’ integrity Midst haughtiness’ vanity and selfishness’ futility. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your wisdom! Such corrects me in my ignorance-boredom As You guide my decisions thru Your eternity’s kingdom Midst pleasure-cravings’ welcome and leisure-carnality’s freedom. Thank You, Lord, for winning over my flesh-war with Your might! Such propels me in my service-height As You bless my labor thru Your approval’s delight Midst fruitlessness’ blight and slothfulness’ fight.
SOULWINNING CONFERENCE MARKED CBBC’S LABOR DAY
L
ast Wednesday, the 1st of May, coinciding with celebration of Labor Day, our church held a one-day Soulwinning conference which was graciously attended by our faithful soulwinning brethren from home church CBBC-SPL and a few nearby fellowshipping churches like CBBC-Manila, Sta. Cruz, CBBCO-Dasmariñas and Good Shepherd Bible Baptist Church, to name a few. The morning’s event was packed with three powerful exhortations dealing on “God’s Purpose In My Life,” “Passion for Souls,” and “Why Win Souls.” While it is true that having a passionate heart for winning the lost could only come from the Lord, we Baptists must have the sincerity and initiative to ask God for it. The aforementioned sermons stressed that the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ penned in the Book of Matthew 4:19 should compel us believers to look beyond what we can see with our eyes and follow a very vital pattern that Jesus Himself had lived for the souls of men. Mid-afternoon sessions were used for emphasizing the causes, concepts, and commitment of oneon-one confrontational soulwinning. A mini-workshop immediately followed where the attendees practiced the effective method of sharing the Gospel. The final challenge given by our Pastor on “The Importance of Soulwinning” echoed God’s call for His flock. It is hoped that each member of this soulwinning church will be a soulwinner for Christ for God’s glory.
********** "If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer… but our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior." Yes, God sent us a Savior — that we might know His forgiveness. But not only that we might know it. God sent us a Savior so that we, who have been given the privilege of this knowledge, might go and share the good news of His forgiveness with all the world! Let's cherish His forgiveness today. Let's rejoice in it and let all who don't know that they can have the same!

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
