VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 19 > MAY 12
We became a child of God the day we accepted Christ as our personal Saviour. Also at that moment, we have been destined to be separated to God and to be set apart from this world’s lifestyle. We are expected to become more Christ-like and to obey God’s will. Thus, every Bible reading we do, church service we attend, preaching we listen to and Christian fellowship we participate in is designed to help us draw closer to God. Such drawing closer to God separates us from the world. Let the Sunday School lesson help us understand this truth. Meanwhile, I am so blessed to hear many good reports from our Daily Vacation Bible School this past week. I believe that God did work mightily in all the areas that simultaneously held their programs. I appreciate and commend all those who invested in this ministry through their involvement as teachers, assistants, drivers, cooks, foodcontributors and venue-providers for allowing their houses to be used. Your labour is certainly noticed and will be rewarded by God. Let us be patient in making follow-ups on the children and their parents as well! Finally, I would like to greet all mothers on your special day today! Thank you for faithfully fulfilling your role. Happy Mothers’ day!
from your Pastor

WEEK 1 OF DVBS 2013 VICTORIOUSLY CONDUCTED
“…Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Thus was the admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ in Mark 10:14, with the command for His people to be mindful of the ministry of passing Scriptural principles to the next generation. By God’s grace, our Church is faithfully and earnestly complying to the said instruction through our various Bible teaching efforts, which include our Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS). This past week, from May 6-10, twenty-six areas simultaneously held their DVBS. Geared with lessons and visuals emphasizing the theme, “An Amazing Expedition of Knowing God,” a homegrown lesson packet developed by our Baptist Heritage Bible College Students, both the members and church workers worked hand in hand to give students a Scriptural knowledge of an Amazing God Who is our Saviour, Protector, Defender, Provider, and Law-Giver. The week-long activity also taught the children to sing heartfelt and vibrant songs for the Lord. They were also indulged with fun-filled activities, prizes and food treats. Most importantly, the DVBS-evangelism and education program yielded a fruitful professions of faith from the youngsters themselves. Furthermore, the Gospel preaching during each area graduation ceremony after the Day 5 session led to the salvation of the participants’ parents, guardians, relatives, and friends who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord. Indeed, investing in the lives of these youngsters is a privilege, and we pray that we have fulfilled this duty with passion. It is hoped that these new converts be fruits that will remain and may the good Lord be magnified in this endeavor.

BANAL NA PAGWAGI Beata B. Agustin
“...forsake not the law of thy mother:” (Prov. 1:8). The law of your mother—unwritten, but lastingly stamped upon your mind! It is the law of love, of kindness, of selflessness, of giving! Motherhood—just think of its blessings, joys, sorrows, challenges and triumphs. There is no greater happiness than holding her newborn, and no greater anguish than the broken heart a child may cause. A mother’s love is the nearest thing on earth to God’s love. The wisdom of God is exhibited in motherhood. We are not the byproduct of some impersonal biological process. We were not made on an assembly line by the combination of chemicals. Our mothers nurtured us and formed an intimate relationship with us before we were born. She jeopardized her life for us. Many of the great lessons we have ever learned have come from loving, caring, sacrificing mothers who were always available to us. A woman’s greatest, most fulfilling and far-reaching role is expressed in motherhood. Let us thank God for Christian mothers! Let us be sensitive and grateful, not only on Mother’s Day—but everyday for our mothers and the mother of our children.

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
