One of the best things that will help us grow in our Christian life is sometimes one of the things that many Christians do not like; that is, standards. Like companies and institutions that set standards to guide their people, God gives principles for His children that will help us set our standards to guard us from that which will hurt us. May we desire to have and live Bible standards. Our old sinful nature may not like them, but with Godâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s power we will submit to them. That will surely give us protection to hinder Satan from getting in our Christian lives. We must always realize the blessedness of being a child of God. The protection and the privileges must not be belittled. Again, I rejoice this past week for a fruitful result of our DVBS, hearing many souls getting saved. I also rejoice to see many enjoying that privilege to invest through this ministry. Let us pray and work hard to see more fruits from this endeavor. Thank you for your faithfulness in Godâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s service! I encourage everyone to keep on doing his/her best in serving Him! Have a blessed Sunday!

WELL-ATTENDED DEAF CAMP BROUGHT BLESSINGS The recent Deaf Camp (May 6-9) at Majayjay, Laguna was attended by 256 Deaf from 9 churches in Southern Luzon and Metro Manila. From our church, there were 84 campers, while CBBC-Sta. Cruz had 33 delegates; CBBC-Manila had 26; and CBBC-Los Baños had 13. With God’s power and by His grace, there were 40 professions of faith. The speakers were Bro. Reed Condra and Mrs. Donna Condra, a husband and wife team, and workers and staff of the Silent Word Ministries at Trenton, Georgia. The coordinators were Bro. Himes and his wife Brenda, whom we sincerely recognize and pray for as we thank and praise God for what they are doing for the Lord through the deaf ministry.

SECOND DVBS WEEK WITH GOD, WE CAN OVERCOME THE FLESH Beata B. Agustin

With God, we can overcome the flesh and its sinful destructiveness Because of His pardoning mercy’s forgiveness As we approach Him with repentance-earnestness While fighting valiantly transgressions’ filthiness In living for His glory, pursuing after holiness. With God, we can overcome the flesh and its doubting prevalence Because of His controlling sovereignty’s providence As we trust Him with confidence-persistence While fighting virtuously unbeliefs’ indifference In seeking for His presence, avoiding worldly influence. With God, we can overcome the flesh and its selfish vanity Because of His subduing strength’s tenacity As we come to Him with meekness-humility While fighting vigorously pride’s intensity In begging for His power, admitting own frailty.

TRIUMPHANTLY HELD

NFLUENCING young minds for these past two weeks of wonderful Scripture lessons, vibrant songs, and fun activities, the Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) 2013 recorded a total of 941 graduates and 221 visiting young people and adults. Encompassing 36 strategic locations within Laguna and neighbouring cities and towns, these blessed weeks brought in 1,485 precious children from different walks of life to experience “An Amazing Expedition of Knowing God.” Since its conception, DVBS has been instrumental in reinforcing the importance of Gospel evangelization and Bible awareness even and especially to the youngsters. Reaching and teaching these precious souls have consequently led to reaching their family and homes as well. Faithfully availing and involving themselves, some 429 church members, workers and staff collaborated right from the laborious workshop time to the delightful daily teaching sessions to culminate on the graduation day teaching foundational doctrines to the next generation. The theme wonderfully emphasizes the goal of this church even at the early stages of person's life. The two weeks indeed served as “An Amazing Expedition of Knowing God” for these kids and their loved ones. These amazing weeks yielded a total of 1,892 professions of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour. There is truly no other nobler task than to teach the inspired, inerrant, infallible and preserved Word of God for the souls of men. We are grateful to have the privilege of teaching God's awesome Word so that others can be aboard this journey of knowing God as well. May the seeds sown in their hearts have farreaching impact that only God can ever accomplish. Let God be magnified!

With God, we can overcome the flesh and its covetous vices Because of His transforming work’s forces As we labor for Him with services-sacrifices While fighting valuably slothfulness’ losses In advancing His kingdom, investing for heavenly graces. With God, we can overcome the flesh and its constant discontentment Because of His satisfying provisions’ enrichment As we surrender to Him with dedication-commitment While fighting victoriously insecurity’s entrapment In pleasing His person, experiencing divine blessings’ fulfillment.
