Tinagurian silang “jewels of the church.”

”Making Junior Disciples” Summer Camp 2014 Successfully Held
A
S WE CLOSE this year's Summer season, the Children’s Junior Department held a three-day, two-night Camp at the CBBC-SPL vicinity last May 19-21, with 106 students from Grades 3 to 6 Sunday School Class. The church family emphatically values what the Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 that “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Our Sunday school student is the future generation of the Church and God's work. It is our aim that they be preserved and that they abide in godliness and true righteousness throughout their lives. On its 3rd year, the camp aims not just to prepare and propel the next generation for God, but to protect them from godless worldly influences. With the theme “Making Junior Disciples” excerpted from John 8:31b which states, “...if ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed,” the camp hopes to emphasize training, equipping, building up these youngsters for God's glory since it is God's will that they be used in the Lord's work, to bear the testimony of Jesus Christ in their lives, and be a blessing to their respective families. The camp had been three full days of invigorating fun games and activities, and most especially challenging preaching. The 2nd night was highlighted by a night program where the children showed their God-given talents in song lead-

M
ing, Sunday School teaching, special number and preaching. Preacher Emmanuel Villarosa delivered the night's main message anchored on Hebrews 12:1 exhorting the students to cast off the activities and distractions that make them ineffective for God. This was aptly concluded by a Bonfire commitment at the Church Ground Plaza. Likewise, complementing the main preaching were the general sessions’ exhortations by our Sunday School Children’s Department Superintendent, Preacher Jonah Raña, with Bro. Justin Sales, Bro. Norman Gagni, and Bro. Nestor Tesoro. The final message in the Camp Awarding and Culminating Event held at the Church Main Auditorium was powerfully given by Dr. Ed Laurena for the parents and children focusing on the importance of Disciplining the Youths and Good Parenting. Indeed, those were all needful in building up the spirituality of the students, the parents and the rest of the congregation. We appreciate the parents who allowed their children to be a part of this blessed event. In a generation where God-centeredness is replaced by too much emphasis on worldly pursuits, our church strives and perseveres to put up programs of keeping our youth sanctified and separated, from the world, all for God’s glory. May these endeavours be richly blessed.
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP I thank God for saving me, enabling me and putting me into the ministry. It was my youngest brother (who is now with the Lord), being the first convert in the faith, for eight (8) long years, had tried his best almost everyday to keep on sharing with me the gospel. A policeman who was then a scalawag and hoodlum in uniform, I refused to believe because of some inferiorities and pre-occupations in mind concerning my effectiveness in my career. I kept on running away from God until one Thursday evening, through soulwinning and door knocking, a worker of CBBC came to our house and witnessed to my wife. She got saved and went to church regularly. She insisted that I would go with her, but I kept on rejecting her invitation. It was only on November 23, 1997 when I finally gave in to her plea. As my birthday gift to her, I came to know about this church. At the Old building auditorium, I was moved by the preaching of Dr. Ed Laurena and the message echoed in my
ear. I wanted to turn back again but the Lord led me to tears as I prayed the sinner’s prayer and finally, I got saved! Dr. Ed initiated a weekly Bible study in our home and subsequently, my whole family got saved and everyone became part of the church. Up to now, I tcannot fathom how God made me to be His carrier of the Good News to the Philippine National Police Academy. The ministry there, by the grace of God started with just one soul until countless cadets from such group come today’s officers of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. May God bless the whole congregation for praying for the ministry at PNPA. Turning fourteen (14) this coming November, the work is sustained by the Lord despite the struggles, persecutions, and obstacles. Praise God for the vision he endowed upon our dear Pastor as through PNPA Baptist Cadets Ministry, the church helps the government in producing godly, God-fearing and Christ-centered men and women of the army.

The Power of Partnership “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up...And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quicky broken.”-Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
I
T HAS BEEN WELL SAID that “Synergy is greater than the sum of its individual parts.” Also, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” No endeavor or task has ever been triumphantly achieved alone. It is always with the ideas and contributions of people, places, events, and things which God have orchestrated to come our way. Even our personality, life experiences, strengths and weaknesses are working together to bring results either effectual or otherwise depending on how they are steered. Partnership with Godly People. It is always wise to choose whom we will associate with. It is good to partner with goodly folks but it is more excellent to accomplish tasks with godly people. There is a glorious bond and unity of the spirit with the saved people of God that the unbelieving folks, no matter how pristine their works are, will never achieve apart from Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:9 affirms, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” and 1 John 1:3 attests, “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” The truth is we are all individuals with very little in common until Jesus' redemption spiritually separated us from this world and we became Christ's body (members of His Church) through His Spirit as 1 Corinthians 12:13 states, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” In this we can see that true Christian partnership is primarily a relationship rather than an activity. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:...” We should not personally and willfully team up with unbelievers. Instead, we should win them for Christ. Partnership with Glorifying Purpose. A partnership is always formed in order to attain a known objective. Just as we are united in a relationship, so we are all united in a partnership formed to glorify God by complementing His work. The Apostle Paul writes about Christian unity in Romans 15:5-6, “Now the Gospel of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward
another according to Christ Jesus. That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.” and he reinforces this with the exhortation “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” (1 Coritnhians 2:2) Peter also states that our service for God is ultimately to bring glory only to God's Person and not our personality, “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:11) Partnership with Giving Provision. God definitely does not need our resources. However, It is undeniable that ministerial endeavors in this world are propelled by human and financial resources. God lays the responsibility upon us to give in partnership with His purpose as He works through and within us. Giving for the Lord is not designed to burden us, but to allow God to do His creative labors in us and test our faith in His sufficient provision. We must realize that Philippians 4:19 which says, “But my God shall supply all your need...” was written to people who were partnering with Paul in the Gospel and gave to his ministry on a regular basis. These partners were very systematic and deliberate givers. The reason that God will prosper us is so that we can contribute to establish His earthly Kingdom. Consequently, God then will provide a supernatural divine flow that will meet our every need. When we pray and ask God for direction in our giving and respond to that, He will take care of our needs better incidentally than we have ever been able to do intentionally. He wants us to be partners in His eternal investment. Partnership with God's Power. We are co-partners with Christ in His enterprise here on earth. His work is our work. Our working in God's enterprise must be done in His way. We revel in His power at work, His grace bestowed, His mercy given, and His results manifested. It is important to understand the power that is available in partnering with God and then put that power to produce results according to God's purpose. Throughout all ages, there was not a time that God has been defeated or thwarted in His will. It makes no difference whether we can see the victory, or defeat or not. If we are on the Lord's side, we are always assured of victory ahead. Let us remember, there is ONLY ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ONE LIFE TO GIVE, IN SERVICE OF ONE GLORIOUS KING. Let us DO IT in PARTNERSHIP with GOD.

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
