VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 21 > MAY 26
Our final topic for this month’s theme is about learning to surrender our flesh to God. There will always be a battle between our sinful nature (flesh) and new nature while we live in this sin-stricken world. Though it is impossible to be sinless, it is very possible to sin less. Such calls for our determination to surrender to God and His will, instead of doing things on our own, and depending on our own strength. That is, if we are surrendered to God, we will be so willing to obey Him even if it is hard. That would make much of Christianity enjoyable rather than just wanting to please self. Surrendering of selfish desires is not just a onetime act, but a daily decision we must face. The more we draw closer to God, the more it would be easier to obey Him. That is why, through our church and its various ministries, we want to help every believer to love God. This past week, the Juniors’ Camp is one of those avenues. I am so glad to see 6 to12-years old kids being taught with God’s Word and having fun in a clean way. With that, I encourage parents to keep on partnering with the church, so we would see more children grow up closer to God and staying in the church. What a great contribution to save them and the generation to come! Praise God that He established a church with His Word as our guide! Let us aim to be more faithful in serving Him! Have a blessed Sunday!

SALAMAT SA DIYOS SA KANYANG TAGUMPAY PARA SA AKIN Beata B. Agustin
JUNIORS’ CAMP
SUCCESSFULLY HELD

HE Junior Children’s Department held a three-day, two-night Camp within the CBBC-SPL vicinity last May 20-21, with 86 participants from Grades 3 to 6 Sunday School Class. The church family emphatically values what the Bible says in Psalms 127:4 that “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth;” and in verse 3, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Our Sunday school students are one of our precious jewels in the Church. It is our aim that they be preserved to abide in godliness and true righteousness throughout their lives. On its 2nd year, the camp aims not just to prepare the next generation but to protect and shield them from a myriad of godless and wicked influences. Anchored on the theme, “A Pleasant Child, not a Problem Child,” taken from Proverbs 10:1 which states, “A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother,” the camp reinforces affirmation on the good deeds of the child and reproof on common and rampant bad habits. The camp had been three full days of invigorating games and activities, and most especially challenging and comforting sermons. The 2nd night was highlighted by a night program where the children showed their God-given talents in song leading, special number and preaching. Rev. Jess Sibug delivered the main challenge entitled, “Son, Make me Proud of You” which was aptly concluded by a Bonfire commitment at the Plaza. Likewise, complementing the main preaching were the general sessions’ exhortations by our Sunday School Children’s Department Superintendent, Preacher Jonah Raña, with Bro. Jay-Ar Daracan, Bro. Justin Sales and Bro. Norman Gagni. Indeed, those were all beneficial in building up the spirituality of the students. We appreciate the parents who allowed their child/children to be a part of this extraordinary, thrilling, exciting and life-changing event. In a generation where God-centeredness is replaced by too much emphasis on individualistic pursuits, our church strives and perseveres to put up programs of keeping our youth sanctified and separated, although not isolated from the world, all for God’s glory. May these endeavours be richly blessed.

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
