Victorious Christian Living in our FREEDOM "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."

Jude 1:3

(Freedom to Contend)

I

F every child of God will understand the biblical meaning of freedom, he/she will surely enjoy his/her Christian life. When God saved us, He just did not grant us freedom from the penalty of sin, but He also assured us the freedom from the power of sin which we can have as we grow in faith. Likewise, He promised us freedom from the presence of sin which we can possess when He comes back. Thus, it is very possible for us to live victoriously knowing that God has freed us from being enslaved by sin and lies of the devil, and believing that we have strength from God to say no to sin and yes to God’s will. I continually thank God for His guidance and provision as we travel here in the West Coast area of USA. God provides a church for me to preach to every week and pastors/friends to fellowship with. Your prayers are very evident in our trip. Also, as you enjoy this Sunday, my wife and I would want to honor all fathers in our church. Happy Fathers’ Day! Tasks such as leading a family, setting a godly example, working, nurturing child/ren are all big responsibilities, but by God’s grace and through the guidance of His Word, we can fulfill them. May God continue to give us godly fathers who will lead their families in serving God. I commend your faithfulness. God bless you! DR. ED M. LAURENA PAGE 02 | JUNE 19 | ACTS 29

I. Believers were made free by the Saviour to contend against the seduction toward sinfulness. A. Seducers’ doctrine is to deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. B. Seducers’ deed is to defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. C. Seducers’ deportment (behavior) is to speak evil of those things which they know not; but corrupt themselves with false teachings. II. Believers were made free by the Saviour to contend after the common salvation of the saints. A. Believers are to contend by building up their most holy faith. B. Believers are to contend by bolstering (strengthening) up their spirituality through praying in the Holy Ghost. C. Believers are to contend by breaking down Satan’s strongholds through compassion and soulwinning. III. Believers were made free by the Saviour to contend, afterwards be crowned by the Saviour Himself. A. Believers’ freedom to contend is safeguarded by the Saviour’s mighty power. B. Believers’ freedom to contend is shielded by the Saviour’s massive protection. C. Believers’ freedom to contend is secured by the Saviour’s matchless promises.

Christian life, then, is liberty, the liberation of the person from the trammels imposed by external influences. It is the rising of the sap from within. It is life under God’s leadership. It is a balance between prayer and action: between the dialogue in which his creative inspiration is sought, and the bold and confident affirmation of self, in which the inspiration received is put into practice.

As a Father Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust." - Psalm 103:13,14 -

T

he good father doth not turn off the child for being weak and sickly; but is so much the more indulgent as his necessity requires succour. If his stomach refuse meat, or cannot answer it with digestion, will he put him out of doors? No; when the Shunamite’s son complains of his head, she lays him in her bosom. A mother is good to all the fruit of her womb, most kind to the sick infant: when it lies with its eyes fixed on her, not able to declare its grief, or to call for what it desires, this doubles her compassion: “So the Lord doth pity us, remembering our frame, considering that we are but dust”; that our soul works by a lame instrument; and therefore he requires not that of an elemental composition, which he doth of angelical spirits. The son is commanded to write out such a copy fairly; he doth his best, far short of the original; yet the father doth not chide, but encourage him. Or he gives him a bow and arrows, bids him shoot to such a mark; he draws his utmost strength, lets go cheerfully: the arrow drops far short, yet the son is praised, the father pleased. Temptation assaults us, lust buffets us, secular business diverts us, manifold is our weakness, but not beyond our Father’s forgiveness: “He will spare us, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him,” Mal. 3:17. “So the Lord pitieth,” So and ten thousand times more than so. For he is the “Father of all mercies,” and the Father of all the fatherhoods in heaven and earth. Eph 3:15

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
