from your Pastor
“Great is our Lord, and of great power!” Thus declares the Bible in Psalm 147:5. With God’s salvation, sovereignty, and sustenance prevailing over us, we, His children, can have the determination to stay in His Scriptures, standards, and sanctuary along our supplication and stewardship. As always, the Lord does His very best in enabling us to experience and enjoy a meaningful and fruitful Christian life through the church. How privileged are we in CBBC to be exposed to and enriched with divine opportunities to participate in various discipleship pursuits to advance God’s kingdom! The redemption of souls and the revival of saints last week are evidences of God’s might through our involvement in Gospel-sharing, soulwinning, Bible studies, campus evangelism, as well as our attendance in worship services, Sunday School classes, discipleship sessions, fellowships, and prayer meeting. As your Pastor, I am delighted DR. ED M. LAURENA to testify about your faithfulness to the Lord and to His work. Such is truly an encouragement and inspiration to me. Having received many blessings, we must then constantly praise and thank the Lord, with our desire, decision, and devotion to cling to His might and cleave to His mercy. I believe that the “determined attitude” that God has instilled in us is a driving force in our spiritual growth and steadfast church-participation. I exhort each one to be determined in continuing in God’s will amidst trials, temptations, and testings. Our God’s dealings, deliverance and direction are readily available; we just have to seek Him earnestly. Happy Lord’s day! “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

West Coast Team Visits CBBC,Laguna for Campus Tours and Evangelistic Service
S
TIRRED BY THE RECENTLY concluded Spiritual Leadership Conference in Lancaster Baptist Church (LBC, California), Preacher Clark Graham (LBC Staff and Church Planter of Baptist Church in Antipolo City, Rizal) with his team of West Coast Baptist College students and alumni came to our church last Tuesday, April 8. This is for a battery of Campus evangelization and exposure to ministerial work in various churches within Manila and across Iloilo. Last April 9, Wednesday, the team brought in about 25 First-Time-Visitors for the evangelistic-revival prayer meeting service. Preacher Clark Graham preached on “He Must Increase” taken from a well-loved Scriptural passage in John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” It was truly a powerful call, challenge and cue that Christ’s person must have the pre-eminence in our lives and we are to submit willingly and be subdued powerfully by the Word of God. The exuberant team will continue with the Campus Evangelization for the remainder of the week and will head to Antipolo Baptist Church which Preacher Graham planted as a mission church of LBC. Their visit to the Philippines will culminate in Iloilo Baptist Church pastored and started by Dr. Rick Martin through LBC.

CBBA High School Students Join the BYF Campus Ministry
T
AKING PART IN THE CHURCH’S campus ministry program of the Baptist Youth Fundamentalist (BYF), 23 CBBA High school students excitedly joined the soulwinning and invitation activity for Gospel evangelization at the San Francisco National High School, Biñan last Thursday afternoon. The said BYF endeavour, approved by our Pastor through the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Dhel Laurena was coordinated Bro. Justin Sales, campus ministry leader. The CBBA youth, supervised by Sir Donato Serrano and guided by CBBA staff and selected Bible College students, won a close to about 40 souls, and brought them to a short Gospel evangelism service held at the Barangay Hall. To instil effectually in the hearts of the youth a value for God’s precious work in proclaiming God’s Word to the youth, we pray and plan to incorporate this as part of the Academy’s regular schoolweek’s schedule. May the Lord be pleased with our efforts for the next generation.
Revival Sunday In Our CBBC Outreach In Singapore Victoriously Held “And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.” Acts 11:21
S
UCH WAS THE TEXT of Dr. Ed Laurena’s message on our first Sunday service back in 2010. Now, we are approaching our 4th anniversary on the 27th of July. Once again, we plead to the Lord that He would put His mighty hands over His people here in Singapore. Thus was the purpose of our Revival Sunday, which was held last June 29. Pastor Florante Ventura of Northside Bible Baptist Church in Laoag City was invited by Dr. Ed to be our guest speaker. Indeed, God always sends the right people for the job. Every day in his short visit was a speaking engagement and Pastor Ventura never failed to deliver a challenging message for us to keep on serving, growing and staying faithful in the ministry. Then at our Revival service, the Holy Spirit set the pulpit on fire as Pastor Ventura preached to us twice that afternoon to stir us up in serving the Lord—and to get involved in the upcoming Anniversary. Knees were bent during the invitation, as the people heard the messages loud and clear. Pastor Ventura’s short visit was indeed very meaningful. Please continue to pray for us, our dear brethren in CBBC, San Pedro—that God will sustain the revival flame that He started in us, and that He would give us a victorious Anniversary celebration. In the end, may we always have a good testimony of the Lord’s work here in Singapore, so that people may see and say that “the hand of the Lord was with them.” To God be the glory!

THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
M

Amidst those humiliating insults, He was to stay and to carry on His commitment save sinners and to give them life everlasti stilled the storm-tossed sea when He said, still” in Mark 4:39; He who healed the sick; the multitude (Mark 6:44); He who had the po people from the dead (John 12:1) surely ha to step down from the cross and untuck the n His hands and feet. Nonetheless, what held cross? Not that He was, humanly speaking though he was crucified through weakness, by the power of God…” (2 Corinthians 13:4). did was helpless, for He could call the Fa could immediately give more than twelve le gels (Matt 26:53). It was His supreme love that made and stay on the cross and surely die. “In thi fested the love of God toward us, because th his only begotten Son into the world, that w through him” 1 John 4:9. BYCM Kicked-off for a Month-Long Evangelistic Campaign
OR THE WHOLE MONTH of July, the core team of the Baptist Youth Campus Ministry (BYCM), together with the rest of the BYCM workers and volunteers, are invading the circle of high school campuses to which they are ministering. As most of the workers here are fruits through the same ministry, anyone can expect how enthusiastic they can become to preach the Gospel eagerly to the students in their respective Alma Mater. With the endeavor to usher souls who are gone astray with the influence of this world, BYCM laid a wonderful program so as to reach the majority of today’s generation. Kicking-off this week, teams went out to Saint Francis National High School in Biñan City last Thursday, July 10. The heavy rains were of no threat to the workers as God blessed them with 105 students in attendance. They gathered at the Barangay Hall nearby the campus. What highlighted this event more was the participation of 22 students from our Academy and it was a sure privilege for them to be a part of the success in bringing 121 souls won to the Lord that afternoon. Likewise on July 11, Friday, two huge high school grounds were venues of campus evangelism by two separate teams of ministers. Early in the afternoon, one team was sent out to invite students from Pacita National High School. They compelled them to come and 35 souls got saved in a Gospel preaching by Bro. Norman Gagni. There was joy in the hearts of all who have toiled hearing the positive responses of expected second-time attendees this coming Friday for their regular, weekly BYCM meeting. As this was happening in Pacita, the other
team of workers was busy preparing for the same event in Biñan National High School. Remarkably, God has been powerfully working in this site that there had been a number of students who have become members and are now involved in the church’s ministries. Surely, God be praised for His continuous working when 129 students came to listen to the Word of God, and a total of 150 souls got saved as a product of their soulwinning efforts. More excitement fills the hearts of those who labor in this ministry as they physically and spiritually prepare for this coming week’s schedule of Evangelistic Meetings at San Pedro Relocation Center National High School and Bulihan National High School. BYCM covets the congregation’s support in prayers (although material aids are also welcome) for the sure success of the godly endeavor for the glory of the Lord!

Staying and Not Straying “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” –Ecclesiastes 9:11 As children of God, we each have our distinct roads to tread and varying paths to travel on. Each is different, yet much interrelated as we are a people created for His glory. The race has been set before us; hence we are exhorted with this verse: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” (Hebrews 12:1) This is NOT a time to STRAY and WASTE AWAY from God. This is a time to STAY and be in GOD’s WAY. We must not be victims of our circumstance but rather be the product of our decisions whatever the lot may be. We have the Bible in our hand and Jesus in our hearts. We are a victorious people as we are led by a victorious Saviour. The clamour of this generation is individuality and trivial pursuits. The more one is fearless and fearsome in his ventures and accolades, the more he will be applauded for having the courage to defy boundaries, even biblical boundaries. There is a blessed demarcation line God has created for His people. He does not want us to stray from these boundaries. The Lord wanted us to stay within the demarcation…and stay we must. WE SHOULD STAY STRAIGHT. This world does not always commend having a righteous regard for holy living; but the Lord implores us so, ‘’be ye holy for I am holy..” One day, those of us who have already trusted Christ for our salvation will stand before the Lord for an evaluation of our service. Our entrance to Heaven is sure—that was settled when we received Christ. However, our rewards, or the loss of them, for how we spent our lives are not so sure. When we stand before the Lord, no shortcuts will be recognized, and only those who have run the race by His guidebook will be honoured. WE SHOULD STAY SHARP. It is futile for dull scissors to cut paper. The more effort is put on, the more worthless it will be. To put it simply, the sharper the blade, the more useful the scissors. To be effective children of God and soldiers at that matter, we believers need to sharpen and equip continually our ministry skills for the expansion of God’s kingdom. We must be devoted in study and meditation of God’s Word. Our reading, viewing, and listening materials must prompt us towards sharpening and equipping for the Lord’s work. WE SHOULD STAY FOCUSED. Isaiah 40:26 says, “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things…” We need to keep our eyes fixedly focused on the Lord. If we do not stay focused during our devotion time in the morning, by the afternoon we will forget what we have learned from the Bible and live like the world. If we keep in our schedules some tasks that are not in line with the mind of God, we will easily stray…we will get lost from the sheep fold. It will not be long before we would fall to the ravine of sin and ruin. We must consciously turn our eyes to Jesus and keep them there. There is a legion of misery and despair in STRAYING from God. However, multitudes of eternal joys and rewards await those who STAY with God and all His ways. The Apostle Paul implores us in 1 Corinthians 9:24, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” We must keep on pressing on.
Nagsisikap Ka Bang Mabuhay Para Sa Diyos? Beata B. Agustin

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
