"I MUST BE CONSISTENT IN MY INVOLVEMENT EVEN IN TOUGH TIMES."
PERSEVERANCE FOR INVOLVEMENT
The happiest people on earth are those who serve God. Such statement is true to me and to many fellow believers who are enjoying the ministry that God has entrusted to us. Some may not believe that to be true, but not until a Christian has experienced serving Him, he would not fully understand. Joyfulness in your Christian life is not determined by how you feel for the day, how many blessings you receive, how much money your family has or how famous you are. All of these are just temporary and can be gone from us anytime. Our reason far exceeds that. It is based on the truth that we are heaven-bound, and are privileged to know personally and serve willingly the Almighty God. Then, God uses us to see souls saved and their lives changed. That adds more joy because it is an eternal investment. Though there are still difficult times and weariness, yet because His grace is sufficient, we still persevere in doing His will. May this thought encourage you to be resolved to involve in God’s work. Let us have an open heart today and enjoy the Lord’s day!

Here are some things you may or may not know about salt. Salt is essential for muscle movement, including that of the heart. It's necessary for the digestive tract to function properly –crucial for the transmission of messages by the nerve cells, and regulated osmotic pressure and the movement of fluid to and from the cell. Salt is found in blood, sweat, and tears. Hotter climates increase the need for salt consumption. Chronic deprivation of salt causes loss of weight, loss of appetite, nausea, muscular cramps and even stunts growth. In the food industry, it is used in flavoring and seasoning, pickling, canning, preserving, baking, dairying, curing meat and fish, and processing flour and other foods. Salt is a binder, a texturizer, and a fermentation control agent. Other useful applications include de-icing highways, oil well drilling, and fertilizing! We are to be the salt of the earth. As you can see, we have a tough act to follow! But we need to be the salt that the world so desperately needs! Let's examine ourselves today and see if we're flavoring the world the way we should! Matthew 5:13-16
D. L. Moody told the story of a man who was crossing the Atlantic by ship. He was terribly sick and confined to his cabin. One night he heard the cry “Man overboard!” He felt that there was nothing he could do to help, but at second thought, he said to himself, “I guess I can at least put my lantern in the porthole.” He struggled to his feet and hung the light so it shined out into the darkness. The next day he learned that the person who was rescued said, “I was going down in the dark night for the last time, when someone put a light in a porthole. As it shone on my hand, a sailor in a lifeboat grabbed it and pulled me in." All of us have weaknesses — and times of weakness. The fact of the matter is, though, that weak or not, we need to muster up the strength to put our lights in our portholes for the sake of the dying and the lost among us. It’s so tempting to sulk in our weaknesses, and stay in our beds — but God expects more of us. He has given us the strength to do all things — even move mountains! There are so many people around us sinking in despair. But God has chosen us to reach out and light up their lives! Let’s get beyond our weaknesses and light up the darkness around us!
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

A man in one of D.L. Moody’s meetings once testified that he had lived “on the Mount of Transfiguration” for five years. “How many souls did you lead to Christ last year?” Moody bluntly asked him. “Well,” the man hesitated, “I don’t know. I don’t know that I have,” the man admitted. “Well,” said Moody, “We don’t want that kind of mountaintop experience. When a man gets up so high that he cannot reach down and save poor sinners, there is something wrong.”
A young man once went to the beach. There, he saw miles and miles of starfish washed up on the sand. “If these starfish stay out here during the heat of the day,” he thought, “they'll die.” So he began picking up a starfish at a time as he walked and throwing them back into the ocean. An elderly man also walking along the shore approached him and said, “Do you mind if I ask young man, what are you doing?” “I'm throwing these poor starfish back into the ocean so they don't die in the hot sun,” the youth replied. “But what difference can you really make,” said the old man, “Look at this beach—there are thousands, maybe millions, of starfish here!” The young man chuckled as he threw yet another starfish into the sea. “Well — it made a difference to that one!” “Faithful in a very little”, the Word of God says! It is faithfulness in the little things that the Lord rewards mightily! The world is like those millions drying out in the hot sun – and we have reach out to those the Lord has put in our path! If we all do our share, the job will get accomplished!
The Domino Effect of Soulwinning (1) Edward Kimball, a Sunday school teacher, in 1858 led a Boston shoe clerk to give his life to Christ. The clerk, (2) Dwight Moody, became an evangelist and in England in 1879 awakened evangelistic zeal in the heart of (3) Frederick 1 2 3 4 5 Meyer, pastor of a small church. Meyer preaching on an American college campus, brought to Christ a student named (4) J. Wilbur Chapman. Chapman, engaged in YMCA work, employed a former baseball player (5) Billy Sunday, to do evangelistic work. (6) And the list goes on.........................................
A One-legged Missionary Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8 George Stott, a one-legged school teacher from Scotland, volunteered for missionary service in China. When asked why he with only one leg thought of going to China, he said, “I do not see those with two legs going, so I must.” Thus began his more than twenty years of missionary work in China.

ARE WE PERSEVERING IN OUR SEPARATION? Beata Agustin Are we persevering in our separation to the Lord? …While departing from worldliness’ binding cord? We must trust God along His powerful truth’s sword Midst inviting vanity that can ruin our testimony’s record. Are we persevering in our separation for the Saviour’s praise? …While forsaking self-coveted honor of earthly brace? We must thank God along His wondrous grace Midst attracting fame that can bring our faith under trials’ rays. Are we persevering in our separation by Christ’s leading? …While turning against humanism’s upholding? We must stick to God along His gracious molding Midst dominating opinions that can weaken our scriptural standing. Are we persevering in our separation thru the Spirit’s guidance? …While leaving the paths of carnality’s arrogance? We must depend on God along His mighty performance Midst lingering mysteries that can drive our minds toward fatal ignorance. Are we persevering in our separation according to the Bible’s instruction? …While denouncing every foolishness and perversion? We must abide in God along His wise prescription Midst governing ordinances that can thwart our heavenly conviction. Are we persevering in our separation toward the Master’s holiness? …While striving against sinfulness? We must seek God first along His saving righteousness Midst prevailing wickedness that can defile our purity’s earnestness. Are we persevering in our separation from the Creator’s adversary? …While fighting the Devil with his sown misery? We must cleave to God along His assured victory Midst abounding evil that can hinder our service for the Father’s glory.

Why We Should D istribute Tracts Re gularly ?
H
OW IMPORTANT is it to distribute Gospel tracts as we go about our daily tasks around town? Many people are unsure if the results are worth the effort. We seldom hear of someone being saved from a tract we hand out and rarely hear of someone coming to church because a Gospel tract was given to them. Maybe we should take a closer look at what happens when we regularly and faithfully hand out tracts. When we give someone a Gospel tract, we never know what they are going through or how God will use it in their life. Several years ago, a Christian was flying from Atlanta to Detroit and seated beside him was a former football star for the University of Connecticut. They began talking, and he gave him a Gospel tract. He was going to Detroit to attend his grandmother’s funeral. He was thinking about eternity, and the Christian had the opportunity to lead him to Christ. When you give someone a Gospel tract, it may be just the answer to a troubled heart or soul. We must keep that in mind when we go through our daily routines around town. Distributing tracts, especially with our church information on them, makes our church better known. When a person has a spiritual problem and needs help, our church should be the first option that comes to his mind. This is more likely to happen if we pass out tracts everywhere we go. If each of us consistently distributed tracts, our towns could be completely saturated very quickly. The problem isn’t that we have no opportunities; the problem is that we are not making a conscious effort to distribute tracts on a regular basis. May we all make a commitment to this simple task as we live for Christ each day.
1. Jesus is with you. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20 2. God’s Word is potent. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 3. If we are faithful, we will see the harvest. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.Psalm 126:6 4. We have been given power to witness. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 5. The Holy Spirit will teach truth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 16:13–14
Spurgeon on Soulwinning The man who is aglow with the love of Jesus finds little need for amusement… he has no time for trifling… he is dead earnest to save souls.
