from your Pastor

FIRST ANNIVERSARY IN THAILAND-OUTREACH TRIUMPHANTLY BLESSED
T
HE LORD INDEED showed His greatness and faithfulness in our work in Thailand as He blessed the first Outreach Anniversary last Sunday, July 20. With the theme “Jesus Saves,” the triumphant celebration, attended by 63 worshippers, yielded salvation of souls from the 25 first time visitors, and baptism of four new converts. Dr. Ed Laurena challenged them with the Word of God in the morning service and Rev. Arnold Vallejo preached to them in the afternoon. Earlier on July 18, the Outreach members held their first revival night in their mission house with Rev. Arnold Vallejo of CBBC-Los Baños as their speaker. Our brethren there are joyfully expressing their gratefulness to us here in CBBCSan Pedro for faithfully loving and supporting them. To God be the glory for His goodness. Let us continually uphold them in our prayers.
Church Bulletin Buwan ng Nutrisyon, Makabuluhang Ipinagdiwang ng CBBA
B
BYCM Evangelistic Campaign Successfully Concluded
G
OD HAS SURELY expanded the territory for the Baptist Youth Campus Ministry (BYCM). After a month-long exertion of efforts in praying and working, the Lord truly wrought great victory in fulfilling the godly endeavour of seeing souls saved. Last July 25, Friday, the two other campuses were reached for the Gospel's sake through the BYCM Evangelistic Campaign. From Bulihan National High School in Silang, Cavite, and San Pedro Relocation Center National High School in Barangay Langgam, about 300 souls confessed and accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour. The precious labouring of 28 workers including members from those campuses surely paid off. Reinforcing the victory was the exemplary participation of the respective leaders and members of the areas which cover these schools. They extended physical support by providing for the workers' means of transportation, and snacks during the after-event fellowships. Because God has seen the faithfulness of His
dear children, He has entrusted another campus to BYCM's care: the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) in Quezon City. The opportunity for Bible study and classroom evangelism was channeled through Architect Omar Tubayan, who is a member of the TIP faculty. As such, last Tuesday, July 22, Bros. Justin Sales and Norman Gagni kicked off in preaching the Good News. In two collegiate classes, about 50 souls followed the sinner's prayer. Bible studies are then set weekly. Indeed, much were added to those who have been faithful in little, Luke 16:10. BYCM needs the congregation's prayer and supplication, for it to pursue enthusiastically the youth whose future are at stake for the devil's tactics toward ruin and destruction.
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
A
- Bro. Jason Gaton
MINISTRY IN
O
UR GRADE 7 and 8 Girls are praising and thanking God for the privilege to be a part of this great church wherein they are taught and trained to live according to His Word. Our Grade 7 Girls Sunday school class under Ma’am Cristina Alvior has 40-50 students, like that of the Grade 8 class of Ma’am Medelyn Espinosa. Meanwhile, about 15-20 of our Grade 7 and 8 girls return in the afternoon and join our divided class fellowship where we regularly conduct at the second floor of the New Bldg. Every meeting, our girls have a privilege to lead the Sunday school program and share their testimonies and personal devotion that help them to be responsible. They also have a Campus Ministry that encourages them to win souls in their schools. Furthermore, they are so blessed for having a loving church that cares for them and their future.

CASUAL CHRISTIANS
A
RESEARCH BODY known as the Barna group defines Casual Christians as those professing Christ-believers who perceive Christianity as "faith in moderation." They feel religious without having to prioritize their faith. Highly esteemed that they can be nice human beings, respectable parents, exemplary citizens, reliable employees and of good status in all their affiliations, they tend to have never defended the faith for they lack a firm Biblical moral and social disposition. These casual Christians comfortably declare that they have the best of both worlds--- the earthly and the spiritual. They rarely feel the demands and pressures of real Christianity which promises a rewarding and joyful end. The following can serve as a summary of the distinguishing marks of casual Christians. If these characteristics reflect your attitude toward the faith, then, you are simply like them who treat Christianity as a religion that is after much traditions. INFORMALITY. If going to church shall be as the same as going to work, will you be commended for keeping a good time sheet or will you be sanctioned for habitual tardiness? A casual Christian drags himself into the church. Consequently, his attire is usually like he just dropped by to have his attendance checked by the usher. Not that going to church is a formal suit and gown affair, but as 1 Tim 2:9 says, dressing up must be observed with modesty, decency and propriety. IRREGULARITY. Do you go by every-other-Sunday show-up in church? When Jesus visits the church through a heart-pounding message every service, will you be like Thomas, one of the twelve disciples, who was not with them when Jesus came (John 20:24)? The temple of the Lord is the New Testament Church, of which you are a part of. It is imperative that the Lord will find us “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25” INDIFFERENCE. Do you agree with the priests in Malachi 1:13, Behold, what a weariness is it! Is it tiresome for you to be hearing program after program, activity after activity? The “na naman” attitude whenever Pastor encourages us to give, to join, to support, etc. triggers many casual Christians just to make it usual for them to be simply spectators of what is happening in the church. Perhaps, the one great reason for all these is the shallow relationship of the concerned to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Should you be one of the casual Christians, the Bible encourages us with Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. A serious prayer of repentance from neglecting the Word of God to take effect in our lives will be so much appreciated by God, and by His grace, casual Christianity will start to disappear in your walk.
Making Godly Determination a Part of our Lives “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”-Hebrews 11:10 There are two ways to live. One is of making or building something, the other is of breaking or destroying that which has been built. In this lifetime, we will be given countless opportunities either to be a builder or to be a destroyer of the design which God has before ordained. Often, unknowingly or deliberately, we fail to deliver to the expectation. The heart-breaking reality is that some of us Christians are more enamoured with idols: career, lust, spouse, past bitterness, and money other than Jesus; therefore, we miss out on all that the indwelling life of Jesus can produce in and through us for the glory of God. We habitually succumb to the routine, tasks, and activities the world has set for us and fail to do that which is utmost. The self-help culture clings to the fiction of the 28-day rule: “It takes 28 days to make a new habit.” Accordingly, this also applies in breaking an old habit and making a new one. This 28-day rule may vary depending on the difficulty of the change that is necessary. Nonetheless, what really maters is one’s determination to do something over and over again amidst setbacks and personal preferences, or his determination to stop that which is being habitually done over and over again. Abraham was given a divine assignment by God, a task too perplexing and too farfetched ever to be a success in the human perspective. To carry out God’s plan, he was asked to break away from his nativity and make a new life in a far-off place…“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”-Hebrews 11:10. He succeeded in his determination to do God’s will. How do we make our determination a part of our lives as Abraham did? WE SHOULD MAKE OUR DETERMINATION REAL. Is our faith in Christ real or counterfeit? Is it an illusion, a facade, a poor imitation of the authenticity and sincerity that is of Christ? Is our perspective of God and the world real as how God’s Word depicts it? Or is it a tainted version from the influences of this world? WE SHOULD MAKE IT READY. Our daily routine and activities must be geared towards making us ready always to give a reason of the hope that is in us. The Scripture affirms in Luke 1:17 “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” The people are ready to be discipled, but are we ready disciplers? WE SHOULD MAKE IT RENEWED. Whether we like it or not, our exposure to the unbelieving world corrupts our minds and hearts. Let us have the resolution always to be renewed having the mind of Christ, our Saviour according to Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” WE MUST MAKE IT RESPONSIVE. Are we sensitive to the Saviour? Are we listening to that still small voice of God’s Spirit from within our hearts, or are we quenching it? The Lord in Luke 20:3 is requiring an answer, “And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me.” The Lord demands a response from us. Determination does not always roar. Many times, determination is the quiet voice at the end of the day which says, “I will try again tomorrow.” Let us determinedly break away from habits that do not align with God’s eternal precepts and make way for more souls to count in heaven’s glory through our regular soulwinning and discipling endeavors.

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
