from your Pastor We thank God for all the opportunities He is giving us to participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission through our church. We praise Him, too, for enabling us to involve in “Making Disciples this 2014” through our discipleship program. With all the Lord’s spiritual provisions along His sustaining power to strengthen our faith and to prosper our Christian lives, we are indeed privileged; and thus, we can actually help advance the kingdom of God. Being always encouraged to grow in God’s grace, we are then expected to go with His goodness, and glow for His glory as we exalt the Saviour, evangelize the sinners, and edify the saints. God is really faithful to us. He always answers our prayers that are in accordance to His will. One of such was the victorious fourth anniverDR. ED M. LAURENA sary of our Outreach in Singapore last Sunday, with 90 attendees, among whom were 33 first time visitors. Added to that were the souls saved in our respective soulwinning areas and those who have decided to be baptized, as well as the brethren who committed themselves for devoted service to the Lord. I would like to say moreover that your steadfast love and faithfulness to God, and your constant support and contributions for our church activities and projects are a great inspiration to me as your Pastor. Keep on with that spirit as you do so for the God’s honor. This August, we are once again exhorted to persevere in our discipleship pursuits through our interesting Sunday School lessons that are packed with reminders, admonitions and warnings on the “Dangers of Not Involving in Making Disciples.” We must gain Scriptural principles that will all the more push, propel, prod, and pull us toward doing the will of God more effectively. In this regard, I invite each of you to join our Sunday afternoon soulwinning, door-knocking and 100,000 Gospel tract-distribution scheduled this month. Let us then abound in the work of the Lord, “striving according to his working,” which worketh in us mightily (Colossians 1:29).

Working Single Men Reached Out to Marikina for the Gospel
T
WELVE WORKING SINGLE men took advantage of the holiday as they enthusiastically set themselves for a whole day of soulwinning and fellowship. Led by their Sunday School Teacher, Preacher Rey Dalde, they headed to Brgy. Fortune in Marikina City early morning of Tuesday, July 29. While enjoying a fair weather, they worthily spent the time in doorknocking, witnessing and teaching, while in the afternoon, they invited people to come to the Bible Study center for a greater cause. The regular Bible Study which is being conducted by Bro. Angelo Apura every Tuesday afternoon was, this time, held for an evangelistic purpose. The team gathered 72 attendees including children, young people and adults, with a total of 166 souls won. They concluded that blissful day with a sumptuous dinner at the Dampa Restaurant nearby. Indeed, God was delighted. Surely, He will extend His blessings to His children who joyfully obey and are determined to be used mightily of Him for the furtherance of the Great Commission.

Ministry in
Grade 6 Around 70 dynamic Grade 6 boys and girls gather at the Old Building ground floor every Sunday School service to feast on homegrown teacher-made lessons from God's Word, godly and joyful singing, and vibrant games and activities which culminate on its own version of Junior Kids’ Worship Service hosted by Sir Richard Enriquez and Sir Jay-Ar Daracan under Preacher Jonah as the over-all Superintendent of the Children's Department. It is truly a blessing to see children who, at their young age, are motivated to grow in the Word, serve God, and glorify Him. This jubilant team of children and teachers has an organized weekly program, as well as a yearly program of Juniors’ Camp, Grade 6 Retreat, Kids’ Discipleship and Promotion, Grade Level Recognition and Promotion, and "I Can" Rewards System. Every program aims ultimately to ingrain on young minds the truthfulness and benefits of abiding and having fun within Biblical precepts before they enter their teenage years. May the Lord richly bless all of our endeavors for the next generation.

ince Tuesday last week was declared a holiday, the Bible College grabbed such tremendous opportunity to go out and win souls! All Bible students including some members of the Faculty and Staff geared toward Pacita and Landayan to saturate the areas by tracts distribution and soulwinning. From 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the students as they were led by the Student Body Officers were divided into 5 groups which were according to year level. After 4 hours of great labour, 55 First Time Visitors were brought to the church for the Chapel Service which turned out to be an Evangelistic Night. Rev. Jun Garapan, as the speaker, preached on the Hope of Christians which can only be obtained by salvation through Jesus Christ, service in the ministry and separation from the world. Thus, the message did not only draw professions of faith but it had also wrought rejuvenation of the spirit of the young servants of the Lord. Before the service was ended, the officers gave recognition to everyone who brought in sheaves that day. Students from the College Preparatory Course (CPC) were counted as the group with the most number of souls won, while the Seniors were acknowledged to have the most number of First Time Visitors. To God be the glory for the privilege of ushering a total of 939 souls to the Lord who, by His grace, now belong to the family of God.

We Can Persevere In Our Discipleship Beata B. Agustin
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?“ - 1 Peter 3:12-13
T
HE PROMISE OF disobedience is deceptive and often we may fool ourselves into believing the Devil's traps that we are able to get by as God's people and do good even if we disobey God Himself, but this is not so. There is a perennial sense of safety and security in obeying the Lord and His orders. On the other hand, there is a very real and pervading feeling of impending doom and destruction if we wilfully neglect what has been commanded us to be done. Our disobedience surely leads us to the three great inescapable dangers of the Christian life. DANGER OF FORGETTING. The real danger of disobeying God’s commands is not that we fail to present before Him a pleasing sacrifice and suitable righteousness but that we “forget the Lord our God” Himself. In our disobedience, we no longer allow God to occupy our thoughts and affections. We no longer worry that He is not present to us in fellowship and love. We simply forget Him and leave Him off. This is how downtrodden our capacity is for godlessness–that we could ever forget the greatest reality in all existence! Three times in the passage in Deuteronomy 8:11-20, Moses warned Israel of the serious problem of forgetting God, “Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day” (v. 11). We forget God by our disobedience. Conversely, obedience entails and promotes remembrance. Israel must obey God’s statutes–not for righteousness–but for remembering. DANGER OF FALLING. Consequently, the problem with forgetting is that “Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage” (v. 14). Today, Moses is still warning us as sternly as he can against this evil heart of unbelief, and is likewise cautioning us, “And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth … if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish” (v. 17, 19). Forgetting God consequently results in atheistic pride, the delusion of self-making and autonomous accomplishment, and finally falling to destruction. DANGER OF FAILING. All of the warnings and exhortations not to forget but to remember are given to a rebellious people just like us. Israel was not given the Promised Land because they were righteous and others were not (Deut. 9:4-6). In fact, Moses told them, “… thou art a stiffnecked people” (v. 6); and, “Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you” (9:24). They were not deserving, and neither are we. “Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart...but for the wickedness of these nations...God doth drive them out...” Like the Israelites, we are in the danger of failing God if we rebel and disobey Him. However, a sure victory awaits those who obey God. “And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?” (Deut. 10:12-13). It is for our good. This promise reveals why God ought and must be obeyed. “He is thy praise, and he is thy God...” (Deut. 10:21). Disobedience is a stab into our Father’s heart. He is hurt by it. It breaks His heart and we suffer for it. It is deceiving, and delivering nothing but danger; the only path it takes us is downward and the only thing we are left with is devastation. Thankfully, we know when we turn our heart again to God, He waits and runs to us, always ready to receive us. Let us be obedient children of God.
We thank God for assuring us His salvation-victory Indeed rescuing our souls from hell’s misery; So glorious are His works of heavenly history… …To secure us from damnation’s everlasting fury. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship, triumphing in His Gospel story! We thank God for building us up toward His faithfulness-mount Indeed reinforcing our trust in His grace-fount; So good are His provisions we cannot count… …To protect us from discontentment of losses’ account. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship despite trials that surmount! We thank God for anchoring us upon His sanctification-righteousness Indeed covering our testimony with His uprightness; So gracious are His ways that speak of His holiness… …To turn us from crookedness and corruption’s filthiness. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship midst enticements of worldliness! We thank God for leading us thru His wisdom-sovereignty Indeed shaping our lives by His Scripture’s authority; So great are His commandments of instructing certainty… …To free us from sinfulness as well as pride’s captivity. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship against selfishness-vanity! We thank God for exhorting us with His revival-rejoicing Indeed gladdening our hearts for spirited worship’s praising; So generous are His provisions, never ceasing… …To guard us from doubts around suspicions’ piercing. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship by His constant pressing! We thank God for preserving us along His Scripture-heritage Indeed pointing our sight beyond divine vision’s frontage; So grand are His riches, very precious in their eternal advantage… …To surround us from earthly wealth-investment’s voltage. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship, blessed in every teaching stage! We thank God for pouring to us His peace-satisfaction Indeed calming our anxieties by His compassion; So glowing are His mercy-rays brightened by His gentle action… …To cheer us from tribulations’ vexation. Thus, we can persevere in our discipleship with consecrated devotion!

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
