from your Pastor We thank God for entrusting to us stewardship-privileges, and we thank Him further for equipping us to be faithful stewards by the opportunities He is giving us through our church. Since, “…It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful,” according to I Corinthians 4:2, we are indeed blessed that the Lord never fails to call, charge, and challenge us to carry on the command to become the faithful stewards that He wants us to be. As such and in the light of our Sunday School lesson this month that highlights the “Danger of Not Involving in Discipleship,” we must then be warned against ignoring God’s Word to do our best part in fulfilling the Great Commission. Indeed, we are grateful to God for blessing us with possessions and wealth, abilities and health, wisdom and understanding, family and loved ones, and salvation and spiritual gifts. With our gratitude comes our humble acknowledgment that these are all granted to us to manage well by His guidance, with His grace and for His glory. DR. ED M. LAURENA One of the ways to do so is our involvement for the salvation of sinners. Thus, we are all encouraged to join our Sunday church-wide tract-distribution, Gospel-sharing and door-knocking endeavor that will start after our worship service this afternoon. Meanwhile, I commend to the Lord those who have already committed themselves to support this activity. For sure, your labour for Him is not in vain. Likewise, let us rejoice at the success of the first anniversary celebration of our work in Goa, Camarines Sur on August 12, where more than 100 souls were won to the Lord, seven converts were baptized and 128 first time visitors. Once again, I enjoin each one to persevere in supporting our goal for the King’s honor and for His kingdom’s furtherance. Together, let us delight in worshipping the Lord and in working along His leadership.

Lord, Thank You For Leading Me Toward Your Discipleship Beata B. Agustin
Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of biblical Christianity …From worldly understanding’s vanity By Your words upon truth’s great verity, To establish me upon salvation’s certainty… Surely strengthening my faith along values of eternity!
“Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.” – Ephesians 4:18 It was Benjamin Franklin who said that, “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.” It is futile and fruitless to ignore what is so obvious, what so permeates our daily living and our very being. Ironically, in an information era where knowledge is power, there is relatively only a small number of people who take heed to know the only truthful knowledge there is―of God―and seriously follow it. People are either deceived, disillusioned but mostly tolerant. The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which many have decided not to see. There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what is not true; the other is to refuse to believe and tolerate what is true. The story of Manasseh, king of Judah found in the Scriptural passage in 1 Chronicles 33:1-19, is an example of what happens when we deliberately ignore God and His timeless precepts and plan. Manasseh's life illustrates how rebellious actions bring far-reaching consequences to ourselves and others. Hezekiah preceded Manasseh as ruler of Judah. 2 Chronicles 29:2 says Hezekiah "did that which was right in the sight of the LORD." Instead of imitating his father's positive example, Manasseh wilfully ignored the Lord's commands. He followed the ungodly practices of the surrounding nations. His list of sins was great. He defiled God's name and His temple. He also led the people far away from the Lord. God spoke to Manasseh and the people, but they paid no attention to God because they had ignored His voice. The Lord brought judgment to both Manasseh and the nation he ruled. The Assyrians invaded Judah, humiliated the king, and made him their prisoner. In his suffering, Manasseh had a radical change of heart. The Lord heard his plea, saw his genuinely repentant heart, and restored him to the throne. God's response gives hope to all of us. Our heavenly Father is merciful. He will listen and respond to our cries of true repentance. Manasseh proved his repentance by ridding the nation of idols and restoring worship to God alone. God expects us to change our ways, too. A wilful ignorance of God’s ways and works by disregarding His precepts and programs is a serious matter. We can lead family and friends astray by influencing them to follow suit. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light...afraid of the truth. We must always choose to be a beacon of light in someone’s dark path. Let us confess that we have ignored God, and repent from it. Let us give Him our full attention today and start to take heed of what He would have us to do.
Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of compassionate action …From selfish interest’s devotion By Your principles according to Scripture’s clear instruction, To anchor me against carnality’s invitation… Surely keeping my heart within the virtue of sanctification! Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of cheerful giving …From personal ambition’s craving By Your teachings about generosity’s miraculous receiving, To instill in me doctrines for spirituality’s thriving… Surely upholding my conviction midst joy of serving! Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of earnest faithfulness …From fleshly effort’s goodness By Your reproofs along humility’s effectiveness, To abase me from accomplishment’s haughtiness… Surely bringing my consecration into submission of graciousness! Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of divine fervor …From earthly mandate’s endeavor By Your wisdom over humanism’s philosophical flavor, To guard me around freedom’s savor… Surely blessing my performance of prayer-favor! Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of dedicated commitment …From temporal work’s involvement By Your exhortations on ministry’s holy contentment, To revive me for kingdom’s advancement… Surely enriching my stewardship with treasures of worship-fulfillment! Lord, thank You for leading me toward Your discipleship of blissful victory …From habitual failure’s misery By Your commands for Great Commission’s heavenly territory, To move me beyond hell’s fury… Surely directing my obedience to You, the hope of glory!

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
