“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (I Corinthians 15:58).

Single Working Ladies Enjoyed a Worthwhile Retreat
FTER FEW WEEKS of preparation and great anticipation for a worthwhile fellowship, fortyeight single working ladies surely had fun in Bluroze Farms and Resort in Lipa City last Monday, August 25. Taking advantage of a day without phone calls from their clients and respective bosses, the working ladies delighted in the granted momentary ease from a bunch of responsibilities. Manifesting freedom from stress, the group rather immersed into a relaxing, godly gathering. With the occasion’s thrust, “Arise and Be Doing” inspired by 1 Chronicles 22:16, they were showered with revival from the Word of God and much blessings from the set of activities packed for the whole day. Highlighting the event was the visit to CBBMLipa Mission house which was just a few blocks away from the venue. Meanwhile, Mission Preacher Boyet de Leon charged the ladies to answer the Four Calls of a Christian. He reiterated from Matthew 28:18-20 that there is the Call from Above which is echoed through Christ’s mandate of the Great Commission; the Call from Within which is the conviction of the Holy Spirit so we must win the lost; the Call from Without which is the cry of the millions; and the Call from Beneath which is from the multitudes in hell begging that their loved ones be saved. Henceforth, a great opportunity was given to the ladies when, right after that devotion, were ushered to the streets of Barangay Lodlod and gloriously won souls which can be numbered close to 100. To add to the excitement, they explored the grandeur of the nature park as they actively participated in the games and engaged in a brisk walk within the facility’s perimeter. The event was concluded with an activity called the Johari Window in which each individual was given the chance to evaluate herself and be evaluated as well by fellow young ladies in the class who are closest to her. By this, the essence of the theme was truly restated, by the grace of God. Praise be to God who made this fellowship a success; thus, the credit goes to the church’s reinforcement of an effective Sunday School for Young People and Adults. To God be the Glory!
2nd Week of Gospel Tracts’ Distribution and Soulwinning Victoriously Held in Alabang
G
OING STRONG ON its 2nd week of the month-long 100,000 Tracts’ Distribution and Soulwinning, more than 800 earnest and excited members trooped to the bustling city of Muntinlupa, particularly in Alabang, last Sunday to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Despite some slow traffic encountered along the way, the Lord made opportunity for the brethren to share God’s Word with the multitude of people from different degrees of life. We are grateful to the Moral Recovery Program and Security team that
coordinated with the City Government and Traffic Police to ensure a safe travel to and from Alabang. The hour-long saturation effort in the vicinity yielded more than 1,300 professions of faith and about 21,000 passed out Gospel Tracts. We thank the Lord for the accomplishment for His glory which He Himself enabled us to do. We praise God as well that this activity has produced a fire in the hearts of His people to take part in winning souls and giving out of Gospel Tracts in any place at any time…all for the lost souls and for His honour.

Buwan ng Wika, Makabansang Ipinagdiwang ng CBBA
I
Preaching the Gospel to Our Nearest Circle
G
THE BLESSINGS OF DISCIPLESHIP
Acts 16:31
OD’S ASSURANCE OF redemption to the family of the Philippian jailor is perhaps the most inspiring account to every Christian who also considers the salvation of his family and closest friends as much of a burden. We give the truth of the gospel to people with whom we have no relationship, and we place ourselves at a greater advantage with those we know well – our family and closest friends. But sometimes, we are bothered with some hang-ups making us uncomfortable to live a Christian life naturally at home or when our loved ones are around. We feel that our hands are shortened to give them a Gospel tract, so weak to open the Bible in front of them, and so deaf and so silent when conversation about religion arises. We are being ineffective and inferior before them. The most common reason is the mental preoccupation that they may not believe because they know our faults, failures and frustrations. However, we miss the advantage that with them, we already have a connection. Witnessing is building relationships and in the sense of preaching the Gospel to our nearest circle, we gain the plus factor. We simply have to push through courageously with these basic steps. Take time to pray for them. We believe that by praying, we gain the power, hence, the hope that God will surely save them, too, as this is the will of God that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Trust the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We are very much privileged to be used that they may come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, but it is still not through our working that they will understand but by the power of the Invisible One who will illumine their minds and hearts of the sinner's need for grace and acknowledgement of God's love. Some of us may have witnessed to them more than twice and yet no changes occur, but let God's timing be effective. Testify of the God-authored transformation. We must be the clearest reflection of how it is to be in Christ. If we will live the past and not seriously walk the godly talk, we will surely be like a tinkling cymbal before them. Their itching ears will be continually yearn to listen to a sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:3), and we will constantly experience difficulty in winning them. Let us admit it; if there are people we would want to spare from the judgment awaiting in hell, it is our dearest kin and closest associates. It is for their cause that we must win the lost at any cost in preparation for the judgment of the saints!

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” – John 7:24b
R
IGHTEOUS JUDGMENT IS an act that has to be done with wisdom. It is because a judgment can present itself in different views; one perspective comes from the one giving it and another is according to the one receiving it. The Bible says in Psalm 37:30, “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.” However, too many times, we malign this and “…wrong judgment proceedeth” Habakkuk 1:4. Our discernment and judgment either prompt us or prevent us in approaching the lost and winning them for Christ. Our judgment either prods us or precludes us in teaching and discipling new converts. Thankfully however, our judgment, when subdued by the authority of God’s Word, preserves us in the way of righteousness and blessedness. We must be aware of the two major differing judgments and how they should be perceived. Our Judgment. A very clever old adage once said, “Don’t judge a man until you have walked two moons in his moccasins.” We should realize that our judgments, no matter how spiritual, are still flawed and tarnished by our biases and prejudices that are never really entirely correct. We really cannot understand what someone is going through until we experience what he/she has experienced. Since we cannot really walk in anyone’s shoes but our own, we should never judge another’s situation. Jesus spoke in the
Book of Matthew 7:2 “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Many times, we make snap judgments about people, and almost always often, we are proved wrong. Jesus admonishes us not to judge. An innocent person’s life could be destroyed or we could miss out on being blessed by them. We could however mark them as Romans 16:17 cautions us, “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” Also, Philippians 3:17 prods us “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” God’s Judgment. There is a judgment more imminent than what meets the eye. God is a God of love, but He is also a God of justice. He abhors sin and must punish it, which is why Jesus paid for our sin-debt on the Cross of Calvary. In a great Scriptural account, Noah escaped God’s impending judgment by building an ark. However, God’s eternal justice hovers all men, the lost and the Christians alike… in varying degrees and accountability. When God determined to punish Sodom and Gomorrah for their sins as cited in Genesis chapter 18, Abraham recognized that God is the judge of men's actions. In this case God passed judgment, issued a verdict and carried out the sentence. Psalm 75:7 declares, "But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” Similarly, Nebuchadnezzar came to understand this in Daniel 4:37, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.” Then Daniel passed on this truth to the blasphemous Belshazzar in the succeeding chapters. Likewise King David saw God's judgments in all His works and recognized that they were apparent throughout the creation. David knew that all God's decisions regarding him were right and for his best interest; therefore, he praised God continually for His faithful judgments in his life. God, the Judge over all creation, makes sovereign decisions. It is in His power to decide and carry out righteous and merciful judgments. We can be confident that God is a righteous Judge. We must then continuously ask God to give us godly and righteous judgment to deal with our daily secular and ministerial tasks…a compassion for the multitudes of lost people headed for judgment without a Saviour. The Scriptural passage in 2 Timothy 4:8 exhorts us, “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Beware of the Danger of not Involving in Discipleship Beata B. Agustin
Since God has already saved you from the penalty of sin and iniquities, And is always helping you to face difficulties While upholding your faith’s steadfastness against human frailties; You must then involve in discipleship with your endowed abilities; Being aware of the danger of not obeying the Lord and His Word’s certainties! Since God has already sheltered you within His presence and relationship, And is always assisting you to overcome hardship While inspiring your devotion’s commitment against worldly friendship; You must then involve in discipleship with your wholehearted worship; Being warned of the danger of not delighting in the Lord and His offered fellowship! Since God has already sealed you around His covenant and assurance, And is always teaching you to conquer ignorance While meeting your soul’s desire against fleshly endurance; You must then involve in discipleship with your heavenly perseverance; Being admonished of the danger of not working for the Lord and His Gospel’s furtherance! Since God has already settled you upon His plans and purposes, And is always strengthening you to withstand crises While fortifying your spirit’s tenacity against evil forces; You must then involve in discipleship with your grateful praises; Being mindful of the danger of not trusting in the Lord and His faithful promises! Since God has already sanctified you with His blood’s shedding and purging, And is always shaping you to pursue holy changing While cleansing your heart’s motives against earthly hinging; You must then involve in discipleship with your diligent managing; Being conscious of the danger of not seeking the Lord and His righteousness’ resurging! Since God has already satisfied you with His abundance and mercy, And is always supplying you to avoid insufficiency While providing for your stewardship’s needs against wearisome urgency; You must then involve in discipleship with your determined efficiency; Being fearful of the danger of not submitting to the Lord and to His wise clemency! Since God has already subdued you by His power and might, And is always transforming you to shine thru His light While brightening your testimony’s radiance against shameful blight; You must then involve in discipleship with your sincere supplication-plight; Being alerted of the danger of not glorifying the Lord and His majesty’s sight!

Amen.
