from your
Pastor
In these days when genuine ministering is needed, we, believers are exhorted to look up to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a selfless minister. According to Matthew 20:28, “… the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Notable in His ministerial deeds was His compassion for people, along with His mercy that gave them life, hope, and peace for their restoration, rejuvenation, and revival. The Lord’s acts as a minister reveal the scriptural essence of ministry, which is serving God through people; and serving people is done by helping them. We thank the Lord for encouraging, equipping, and enabling us to be one of His ministers. Hence, with our sanctified status as biblical born-again and saved Christians, as well as baptized members of Christ’s church, we are privileged to be a part of God’s ministry. This month of October, our Sunday School lessons’ emphasis is “God can put us into the ministry.” We praise God for His constant invitation for us to serve Him through the ministries of our church. We must then respond to His ministry-call; and such we can do when we first recognize the Lord’s purpose in our lives which highlights our creation and redemption to give Him honour and glory. We should also realize His power that is available for us to use in His work. Likewise, we ought to remember His
promises, which include His presence for those who are involved in fulfilling the great commission, and His rewards to those who are faithfully labouring for Him. Being aware of these, may we be found by the Lord sincerely and devotedly ministering to others and reaching out to them. With our ministering spirit that is sustained by the Lord’s strength, we can be a blessing. This attitude can overcome apathy or the behavior of losing interest, enthusiasm, zeal and fervency in the Christian life. Thus, by the grace and power of God, we must persevere to do God’s will in praying unceasingly and in continuing diligently in our worship attendance, in our concern for souls, in our participation in church activities, in our support for missions, in our investment for the next generation, and in our care for the needy. As your Pastor, I thank God for upholding me to minister unto you, and I praise Him, too, for your partnership in the ministries which He has entrusted to our church. Your generosity in our church building project is likewise appreciated. Together, let us all minister with God’s love propelling us, and our faith in Him compelling us, while “always abounding in the work of the Lord” (I Corinthians 15:58). DR. ED M. LAURENA

Through the truth from the Scriptures, we will understand our need for the Saviour. B. Through the truth from the Scriptures, we will understand our need for the sanctifying grace of the Saviour. II. God can put His people in the ministry when they see their need for spiritual growth through the sanctuary. A. God’s people will grow in the faith through God’s established Baptist Church/es. B. God gets glory through His established Baptist Church/es. III. God can put His saints in the ministry when they see their need for service with selflessness. A. Ministry is all about serving God through others. B. Ministry is all about staying in love with God through serving others.

If you want to be a builder of lives, be a fighter in your own individual battles, and a fighter for God's Word.”

at School for the Deaf and Mute Staff and Faculty. Nagbigay din ng kawili-wiling “thoughts for the day” at masiglang Trivia Games bago ang
A teacher is like a candle. It consumes itself as it lights the way for others.”
BHBC Students Upheld the KJB 1611 and the Baptist Church History Baptist Heritage Bible College, for almost 30 years, has established her purpose of equipping, educating, enhancing and edifying the students that they may learn and be ready to go forth and serve the Lord through various ministries. Being part of the instituted programs and projects, selected classes are challenged to organize, through creative media, a substantial presentation which would teach and thrust every viewer to the landmarks of Christianity. As such, for two consecutive Tuesday nights, the students upheld Bible-based doctrines and beliefs wherein Christian Bible Baptist Church and BHBC stand. Last September 29, the Sophomore students’ presentation entitled, “The Coronation” eagerly delivered a skit portraying an extracted part of the history of how the King James Authorized Version came to be. Their Tagalog narrations aided by a visual presentation cited people,

(v. 7)”; “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves… (v.17);” “Salute all them that have the rule over you… (v.24).” Sa Luke 5:5 sinabi ni Pedro, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”
...continuation of page 04, BHBC Students Upheld the KJB 1611 and the Baptist Church History The ensemble heartily sang “God’s Word Changes Lives” which then prepared the audience in listening to the charge given by Pastor Arnold Vallejo, the subject professor. He showed through Revelation 19:13 the relation of the Bible and Jesus as the Word of God that is alive. Meanwhile, the third year class exhibited a multimedia production acclaiming the Baptist Faith to be “Written by Blood.” The essence of the video complemented the preaching also delivered by Pastor Arnold Vallejo, “It is Jesus which makes the Baptist different, hence, what makes a Baptist a Baptist is his encounter with Christ.” With
Ang sabi ng Panginoon, “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught”(Luke 5:4) na ang ibig sabihi’y pakawalan ang lahat ng lambat.
Acts 4:13, the preacher encouraged the big crowd on the night of October 6 that Baptists like Peter and John who were perceived to be unlearned and ignorant men, must be acknowledged to have been with Jesus in the daily Christian walk. It is important then that we set the difference, be seen with boldness and speak wisdom. The event was concluded with a visit to the gallery which the host class prepared featuring the various ways of persecution to early Baptists believers. More than the refreshments given out after each presentation was the appreciation for the revival and the resolution of continually praising God for the right Bible that we have and the right Church where He put us into. To God be the glory!

Are You Over Your Head?
“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.” - 1 Chronicles 29:11-12 A great military leader in the highest echelon of America's Defense Department once said, “Submission is not inferiority, it is decency.” In this day and age when and where children as early as pre-schoolers are taught to be critical thinkers and molded to challenge always the status quo, submission to the authority and leadership of the Bible, the home, the Church, the school, and the nation is slowly becoming a trait for the faint-hearted and weak-minded. Submission has become just a trait from a bygone and archaic era. Submission and consequently decency is being left out of the moral fibers of our society...all because of a mistaken notion of oneself. WHO ARE YOU? Back in Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” In man's perpetually forgetful stage, he always seems to forget the fact that it is God Who made him and not he himself. Before Adam's fall, man is perfect and whole as God intended him to be...then insubordination crept in and the whole creation groaneth in travail until now...all because of choosing not to submit to God's will. The great theologian and missionary Apostle Paul accurately assessed 'man' as a worm unworthy of any form of mercy God has extended. Yet, here is a modern man, so high and lifted up, who goes on inventing his own self and own set of rules. In his convoluted mind, man seems to think that he is the king of the world and that the world is his playground. In man's so much absorption of self, he seems to have deluded himself to the idea that the world revolves around him. 06
The Bible declares that we are being created moment by moment, out of nothing, by a loving God. WHAT ARE YOU? The blessed Psalmist in 8:4 astutely asked, 'What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?” Yet, in spite of all our frailties and iniquities, we have been made whole. What once were worthless pieces of shattered and wasted lives were built anew and born into the family of God. We do not have our own merit worthy of God's love and redemption as attested by Deuteronomy 7:7-12, “The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you...know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations...”
WHY ARE YOU? The heathen people during the first century were described in Romans 10:3 as “...being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” A disobedient and unruly behaviour is characteristic of a non-believer in Christ. It will indeed be a shame to God's name if we refuse to emulate the very example of submission all through the pages of His Book through His chosen people and through Christ's submission on the Cross of Calvary for the redemption of our sins. May we evaluate why we refuse to be submissive to God's will and authority in our lives. Clearly, submission is a reflection of an accurate perception and assessment of oneself in the light of God's Word. May we always choose to be submissive and be subdued for God's glory!
