"I MUST ALWAYS BE REMINDED OF THE REASONS WHY I SHOULD INVOLVE."

PURPOSE OF INVOLVEMENT

This month, we emphasize that our involvement must have a right purpose. There will never be true involvement unless we have a deep purpose why we should involve. When we see God’s work as just a pastime, then we would never involve. Yet, I thank God that many of you have already seen a higher purpose why we serve, why we sacrifice and why we involve. That is for the cause of Christ. As I always say, this is neither my ministry nor yours; this is all about obeying God and His will in our lives! With just few weeks remaining before the year ends, our theme for this year should still stir a challenge in our hearts. The challenges and testimonies we received during our Missions Conference must still be reminding us that we have a lot to do for the Lord. There are still souls to be reached and ministries that need our involvement. As we get busy for the year-ender activities, may we not neglect God’s work. Please pray for me as I preach today in Pastor Ventura’s church here in Laoag. Let’s all pray and expect that God would bless our Sunday!

Sunday School Outline Purpose of Involvement The Performance in Involvement

Nehemiah 2:8 / Romans 4:20-25 / Philippians 1:6 I. God’s people must involve with gratitude because of the finished work of Christ at the cross of Calvary. A. Jesus Christ our Saviour alone is the performer of our magnificent salvation. B. Jesus Christ our Saviour alone should be praised and honoured for our marvelous salvation. C. Jesus Christ our Saviour alone should be the reason why we perform with gratitude our magnanimous (generous) service. II. God’s people must involve with greatness because of the fascinating wisdom from the Spirit of Christ. A. The Spirit of truth will guide believers into all truth. B. The Spirit of truth will guard believers from deception. C. The Spirit of truth will give believers direction for service.

We only have 5 Sundays to go before our scheduled family camp. Since we have a goal to avail of the exclusivity of the Rizal Re-creation Center, we are all enjoined to pay our camp fee at the earliest possible time. Payments may be given to Sis. Bajo Tolentino at the ushers’ table after the evening service.

Gospel tracts, preaching/music CDs & Sunday School/Discipleship lessons are available @ the ushers' table after the service.

III. God’s people must involve with gladness because of the fabulous wages from the risen Christ. A. Involving in the ministry produces great joy as God’s people please the resurrected Saviour. B. Involving in the ministry permits grand jubilation as God’s people prepare for the returning Saviour. C. Involving in the ministry propels glorious joyfulness as God’s people promote the reigning Saviour.

Max Jukes

Jonathan Edwards

Max Jukes lived in New York. He did not believe in Christ or in Christian training. He refused to take his children to church, even when they asked to go. He has had 1,026 descendants; 300 were sent to prison for an average term of thirteen years; 190 were public prostitutes; 680 were admitted alcoholics. His family, thus far, has cost the state in excess of $420,000. They made no contribution to society. Jonathan Edwards lived in the same state, at the same time as Jukes. He loved the Lord and saw that his children were in church every Sunday, as he served the Lord to the best of his ability. He has had 929 descendants, and of these 430 were ministers; 86 became university professors; 13 became university presidents; 75 authored good books; 7 were elected to the United States Congress. One was vice president of his nation. His family never cost the state one cent but has contributed immeasurably to the life of plenty today.

Always trust them to God’s care. Bring them to church. Challenge them to high goals. Delight in their achievements. Exalt the Lord in their presence. Frown on evil. Give them love. Hear their problems. Ignore not their childish fears. Joyfully accept their apologies. Keep their confidence. Live a good example before them. Make them your friends. Never ignore their endless questions. Open your home to their visits. Pray for them by name. Quicken your interest in their spirituality. Remember their needs. Show them the way of salvation. Teach them to work. Understand they are still young. Verify your statements. Wean them from bad company. Expect them to obey. Yearn for God’s best for them. Zealously guide them in biblical truth.

What Do You Want Your Child To Be?

President Theodore Roosevelt had four sons. He was very proud when the first three sons announced their intention to join the military. But when his fourth son also decided to join the Army, the old president refused. “Not all my boys,” he said to his wife. But she replied, “Ted, if you raised them as eagles, you cannot expect them to fly like sparrows.” The principle of Proverbs 22:6 can be clearly seen here. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it."

There are 3 things to consider: 1. You announce what you want your child to be by what you teach him. 2. You announce what you want your child to be by the example you set. 3. You announce what you want your child to be by the plans you make for him.
