VOLUME 23 ISSUE 48 Dec 1
from your Pastor God is so good because He has let us reach the last month of this year! I cannot help but praise Him for the many blessings that He has given us these past 11 months and for His grace to finish off this year continuing for His glory! These days, while many people are getting busy with Christmas season traditions, let us also be occupied with serving and giving more of our best for Him. On this last month’s theme about “Listening and Watching for His Coming,” I pray that this will challenge us to continue serving God as we anticipate for His return. With earthly distractions surrounding us, may we Christians not lose our focus on the main reason why God keeps us here on earth. We should remind ourselves always through God’s Word that this present world is not our permanent dwelling place, so we must invest more on our eternal home. Let us earnestly wait and diligently work on His will for us, so when He comes, He will find us faithful! I am so happy and grateful that God has given me enough strength to be back again in CBBC pulpit. Indeed, I appreciate your prayers and support in God’s work! I love you so much!

Church Bulletin
WILL JESUS FIND US WATCHING? Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Since 500AD, numerous predictions about Christ’s second coming have come out, and all of them failed to happen actually. After the December 31, 2012 forecast by Warren Jeffs of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the hopeful Kent Hovind expects Jesus to come in 2028. Contrary to all these, Matthew 24:43 states the firm truth that Christ’s return will be like the coming of a thief which the goodman of the house has no idea of. Henceforth, the surprise entry of Jesus
should be a delight to every Christian, as it has become a dreadful moment for those who are still lost today. The Bible instructs us to “WATCH.” Literally, to watch is to observe, to look after, to be cautious about, and to be on guard. Bearing in mind that Jesus may come anytime, there should be a sense of urgency within us to win more souls for Him and to warn fellow servants who slack in their service to the Lord. If only the goodman of the house knows what time the thief is coming, he and his household would take much care to be awake. If we know that Jesus is coming today, we will surely come early to church for worship, we will certainly bring our tithes and offerings (even the Nehemiah Project commitment), we will definitely sing aloud and come to the altar for surrender, and everyone will undoubtedly come back for the afternoon service; but these are not so! Brethren, watching means keeping our posts as soulwinners, worshippers and givers, and more so, lovers of His appearing (2 Tim 4:8). Will Jesus find us watching? We’d better be found working while waiting (Matt 24:46, Rev 16:15)!
Waiting for
Christ’s Arrival While

at the
Speed of Life Jesus Christ had told us the certainty that He will come, but not when, so that we might never put off our working clothes, or put out the night candle, so that we might press on…then press on!
There is an inscription in the dome of America's Capitol in Washington which few people know about. It says: "One far-off divine event toward which the whole creation moves." A visiting tourist saw this inscription and asked the guide what it meant to which he replied, "I think it refers to the second coming of Christ." When this structure was erected, some God-fearing officials ordered that such inscription be etched in the dome of the United States' seat of government, believing that its truth was vital to the concern of the nation. As bewildering as it may be, the whole creation is moving at a pivotal point in eternity when the Lord Jesus Christ will make His second advent in the world. His first advent was to save the world and the second is to fetch His saints, who will meet Him in the air to dwell with Him in His heavenly home forever. In the first advent, God cloaked His divinity and glory to prove the faithful. In the second advent, He will reveal His glory to reward their faith. The best part is the blessed hope of His soon coming. It is imminent and this thought fills the unsaved person with dread. C.S. Lewis has said that, "Precisely because we cannot predict the moment, we then must be ready at all times." The second coming of Christ is the completion of His saving work. Revelation has vividly described that the Lord Jesus Christ will come clothed in His Own radiant splendour, enveloped within an atmosphere of glorious brilliance, surrounded by the joyful and reverential praise of angels and saints. Indeed, it is a sight and sound to behold and heed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 declares, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." The Bible tells us that when Jesus comes He will do so with a shout. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." Our Lord has given us a special charge in His precious Holy Word not only to listen to His prodding intervention and instruction in the daily affairs of our lives but also to watch unwaveringly for Him in "…more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning" (Psalm 130:6). That day lies hidden that every day we must be on the watch. Jesus Christ had told us the certainty that He will come, but not when, so that we might never put off our working clothes, or put out the night candle, so that we might press on…then press on! The world's conditions may be moving to a seemingly bleak and ominous ending, but we have this blessed hope that for God's people, the future is as the Bright and Morning Star. The Lord is coming! And with eager eyes We watch to see the Morning Star arise! The Lord is coming! Let our hearts rejoice, We soon shall hear the accents of His voice!

4. Ibahagi sa iba si Kristo Hesus.
