outline Victorious Christian Living
Few can bring the warmth we can find in their embrace And little more is needed to bring love than the smile on their face They have a supply of precious stories yet they have time to wipe a tear Or give us reasons to make us laugh they grow more precious through the years I believe that God sent us Grandparents as our legacy from above To share the moments of our life as extra measures of His love

AITHFULNESS may be a common word in many churches, but it is a great character trait that must be observed by many Christians of our generation. I thank God for faithful believers before us who decided to hold to the right faith. Many of them experienced tough persecutions, discouragements, and struggles, and they could have given up on God, but they did not. Many even gave their own lives just to prove their love for God and His Word. May God still bring up men and women from our church who will be faithful so future believers can still enjoy serving God. Last week, our guest speaker, Pastor Darryl Rempel and I were able to participate in the Old Fashioned Baptist Revival in PMA Baptist Church in Baguio City under Pastor Ronny Jaramillo. That church is considered as our “granddaughter” church, being a mission work of Pastor Gil in CBBC, Taguig. I am blessed to see pastors and workers there challenged through the preaching and fellowship. Without the faithfulness of God’s people, that church would not be in existence. There are really blessings in faithfulness. Finally, I also would like to commend the grandparents of our church. Many of you have stayed in our church through the years. That is faithfulness. May I encourage you then that for the sake of the future generation, let us continue to be faithful in serving God. Happy Grandparents Sunday!

When our life is over and our gravestone has been made Our date of birth and date of death upon the stone is laid Between those dates lies a dash representing life we’ve lived May we live this dash of life for God Make a difference here today
Oh may we live our lives so when our days on earth are done We have kept the faith, we have run the race Providing a challenge for generations to come God’s promises are true, He can still do a work through you So keep the standard high for the Lord is nigh Let’s reach the next generation As we start each new day there are choices we must make Decisions that affect our lives as we choose which path to take Investing in the future, lost souls that never die Let’s spread the Gospel, live godly lives, By example lead the way Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,...

God takes pride in his people. The Bible traces long lines of faithful people--from Adam to Jesus. It makes me wonder when and why we stopped caring about our heritage? People are proud of their money... their possessions. They may be proud if they have a close relative or friend who is/was a celebrity. Why is it that we are not proud of the Christian heritage in our lives? It is something we should be truly grateful for! After all, a Christian heritage---the faithfulness of our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and so on--is one of the greatest gifts God could have given us in encouraging our first steps towards Salvation. Now, having a Christian family doesn't guarantee a child will become a Christian... nor does coming from a non-Christian family guarantee a child won't become a Christian. However, having a heritage of Christian faithfulness certainly puts a child on the right track to Salvation. A heritage of faithfulness is an eternal legacy. It is worth more than a prestigious surname or a hefty inheritance. A family that has stored up mountains of heavenly riches has something worth more admiration than those with earthly riches or fame! I often fall into the trap of feeling proud of the things I accomplish. I become prideful and puffed up over my accomplishments, my success, my awards and accolades. But, really, what does all that really matter in the grand scheme of things? I should be cherishing my parents who always pointed me towards God and tried to live as daily examples of Christian faithfulness. My grandparents who live and have lived Godly lives in pursuit of God's will. All my relatives before them who pursued God, lived their lives as Christian examples and raised their children to do the same. Without this heritage of faithfulness, I have no idea where I would be. I thank God for my heritage. Not out of selfish pride, but out of humble gratitude. But what of those who do not have a long line of Christian relatives? Well, every legacy, every heritage has to start somewhere. I am hoping that my heritage does not end with me. It is my utmost goal to continue the legacy of faithfulness: to live as an example of faithfulness, to guide my future children to God and to pray that they continue onward in faithfulness after I've gone. We each have a Christian heritage to either uphold or begin. Like an Olympic torch relay, we each carry a Light through our lives to pass onto the next generation. If there have been many before us, we can thank God for blessing us with a momentum set by the previous generations. If we are first, we can thank God for blessing us with the opportunity to begin the race; to have the honour of lighting the first torch to hand off to the next generation.

Let’s Reach the Next Generation

(Isaiah 38:1-22) Our spiritual heritage is important to pass on. Hezekiah spoke of the significance of passing the joy of the Lord from father to child, from generation to generation. The heritage of our faith has come to us because of faithful men and women who have carried God’s message to us across the centuries. Do you share with your children or other young people the excitement of your relationship with God? (Luke 19:1-10) A good heritage is no substitute for a personal response to God. When Jesus said Zacchaeus was a son of Abraham and yet was lost, he must have shocked his hearers in at least two ways. They would not have liked to acknowledge that this unpopular tax collector was a fellow son of Abraham, and they would not have wished to admit that sons of Abraham could be lost. But a person is not saved by a good heritage or condemned by a bad one; faith is more important than genealogy. Jesus still loves to bring the lost into his kingdom, no matter what their background or previous way of life. Through faith, the lost can be forgiven and made new. (Hebrews 11:1-12:3) Believers in Christ have a powerful heritage of faith. This “great cloud of witnesses” is composed of the people described in chapter 11. Their faithfulness is a constant encouragement to us. We do not struggle alone, and we are not the first to struggle with the problems we face. Others have run the race and won, and their witness stirs us to run and win also. What an inspiring heritage we have! A Christian heritage focuses on Jesus Christ. The Christian life involves hard work. It requires us to give up whatever endangers our relationship with God, to run patiently, and to struggle against sin with the power of the Holy Spirit. To live effectively, we must keep our eyes on Jesus. We will stumble if we look away from him to stare at ourself or at the circumstances surrounding us. We should be running for Christ, not ourself, and we must always keep him in sight.
We want to encourage every one of you to

or grudgingly, or out of necessity, but willingly.
A prayerless church is a dead church. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14) "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matt. 18:20) “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." (1 Tim. 2:8) Examples of Prayer Meetings in the Bible: "And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren." (Acts 1:13-14) "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." (Acts 2:42) "And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither." (Acts 16:13) "And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed." (Acts 21:5)
An Example of Answered Prayer during a Prayer Meeting: "Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his
angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place." (Acts 12:1-17) “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.” (Isaiah 56:7) JESUS SAID HIS HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER! “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” (Matt. 21:13)
