reetings from the Philippines!
Thank you so much for your faithfulness in holding the ropes of prayer and support so that we can remain in the field and keep on in the ministry. We pray that the Lord will pour His abundant blessings upon you for all you do for His glory. Last July, five of our men were ordained as preachers. They are Jess Sibug, Jun Garapan, Duke Lumictin, Rey Calma, and Meljun Laurena. The preachers were examined before the congregation by the ordaining council. It is our joy to see new preachers for the advancement of the Gospel and His kingdom.

On September 28, 2010, my mother, Iluminada Laurena, 84 years of age, went home to be with the Lord. She suffered from kidney failure. “Nanay Laurena, as she was fondly called, was known as a person who loves the Lord. Her joy had been very evident in her testimony especially in seeing us, her two sons, (Pastor Gil and me) work hard for the ministry during the last years of her life. Meanwhile, the Baptist Heritage Bible College is already on its second semester for the school year 2010-2011. As of this semester, we have a total of 163 students all in all, including two students from California and Pennsylvania, with 39 faculty staff. It is really a blessing and a privilege to witness how the Lord transforms young believers into effective servants of the Lord. We are very thankful for those who continue in the service amidst hardships and trials in their training. The Lord has blessed our Missions Conference last November 30 to December 2. With the theme, For Such A Time As This, and through the preaching and testimonies of our missionaries, God once again stirred our members to uphold and support missions continually and to increase their mission giving generously. As a result, 39 individuals surrendered their lives to be missionaries here and abroad. Concurrently, the new building in front of the main auditorium 39 Indivi duals su rrendered was formally inaugurated. their liv

On December 20, I will be visiting members of a primitive tribe in the province of Oriental Mindoro here in the Philippines. They number about 3,000 and are very neglected by our government. They live in grass houses, have very little food, wear primitive clothes and have no gospel witness. I will be going to this tribe soon with food, Bibles, and a gospel witness. Our plan is to feed them, make friends with them, and preach to them in our meetings. We hope to have a great number of them saved. One of our co-workers was born and raised in this island and he speaks their language. This gives us a great contact with them.

Along with this, please include in your prayer our safety and financial provision. In feeding the said tribe, we allotted each person with a budget amounting to one dollar. If you want to support and be a help, just send it to B.E.M.A. 4744 Winchester, Pike Columbus, Ohio, 43232, USA. Thank you for constantly sending your support in the ministry here in the Philippines!
